Came here for my birthday which it was nice. I loved how everything looks pretty old but nice. Its free to go. They have some rides like the train for $9 for adults or the zipline for $12. They have restaurants as well which they are old style and their food its good. They have tours of the mines too. They also have reptiles museum for $5 per person. Its worth going. Its also a good idea to bring your own lunch if you are not planning to spend too much.

Suuuch a cool little ghost town!!I just LOVE places like this. I originally found this ghost town while trying to find fun stops on a family road trip to New Mexico and now I just LOVE going whenever I happen to be near!!Love all the little shops and the ice cream parlor (the peach ice cream OMG to die for!!)I would definitely recommend exploring Goldfield! I’d say it’s worth it for sure!!!

A little too commercialized. Most of the places are just gift shops with very reproduced products. One had handmade items that were nice and reasonably priced. Very good baked goods at one shop.

Fr
Review №11

The town was founded in 1893, after the discovery of gold in the surrounding area of the Superstition Mountains. The town was abandoned twice by its residents, after the mine veins faulted. The land where the town is located was purchased by a private investor and is now a tourist attraction. Goldfields Superstition Narrow Gauge Railroad is the only 3ft (914 mm) narrow-gauge railroad in operation in Arizona. Other attractions include re-enactments of gunfights on the Main Street of the town.

Goldfield has several attractions, in addition to 2 restaurants and several shops. There is no admission to the grounds. Once you get there, you can look around. The train is definitely fun and they try to give you a good narrative about the surrounding area. Goldfield is, however, not cheap. They have attractions beyond the railroad. I didnt see them because they only take cash for the attractions and my $43 wasnt enough to buy the full package for me and three kids. ( The larger restaurant does take credit cards and was reasonably priced.)

Everything is unique, brightly colored or its just absolutely beautiful. It seems like Im in there almost 3 times a week getting new things that I just love. The employees are just wonderful and friendly. I felt very welcome in their shop from the moment I stepped foot in the door. Julie is a whoot and a half. Shes will cut up with you and just make you laugh so hard, and Amber the owner is an absolute sweet heart.

Now Im not one to get too excited about a pure tourist trap like this ghost town, but the bar was poppin and the tequila was flowin... The 1800 is worth 2 stars by itself, so that should tell you something about the rest of the place. My mom liked it... Thats the other star. A lot of gimmicky shops and plenty of high prices. I guess the place appeals to people, it was packed! Got some unflattering pics in old west clothing

Aptly named, Goldfield was swarming with miners hopeful for gold in the late 1800s, but was dried up by 1898. The area was inhabited and renamed Youngsberg in 1921, but was abandoned once again in 1926. In 1988, the defunct city took the route of a few other ghost towns and became a tourist attractionwith a handful of activities including a zipline, a reptile exhibit, and horseback rides. Theres also a museum, a saloon, and other different merchants.

I came to Goldfield for my birthday with my family. I just walked into the store to look at the items in the shop, looked around for a bit, then walked out. A woman then came outside and yelled “enjoy the ring” at me. I told her that I didn’t take anything, and she rudely told me “well you were the only one looking at rings and there is one missing, so...” and then walked back inside. I was essentially accused of stealing something simply because I was looking at it and they lost one of their inventory. Do not give them business. Even if you just walk in to look at something, you may be accused of stealing it.
