Great location and special treat for any Elvis fans! Was very cool to find out the chapel was used in the movie Charro that starred Elvis Presley. The Superstition Mountains make an epic backdrop to all the antiques and rustic things around.

We LOVE Superstition Mountain Museum and all that the surrounding grounds have to offer. What a great way to spend a day. A neat little gift store, free lecture series during the winter months when temps are in the comfortable 70s, and much more. A must-visit destination in Apache Junction.

I really enjoyed it here. While the it is small, it is packed with information and visual stimulation if you enjoy history. The museum itself is clean and well organized for the small space it is currently occupying and boasts loads in local history. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and I am looking forward to returning with my kids. A must see if you are by the Superstition Mountains. There are a few walking trails that are great for beginners and still enjoyable for more experienced walkers as well. The scenery is stunningly beautiful and never gets old. In certain seasons, they also have gun fighters and mule/donkey rides for the kids as well.

We took a drive to get out of the house. We wanted to see something unique. We ended up at the museum. We did not go into the museum just the gift shop. My wife spent a few dollars on key chains and a snack. If you have nothing else to do it is worth the drive to see a different part of Arizona. Be aware this is also the only road in and out of Tortilla Flats and the lake. Traffic can be heavy at certain times of day.

Excellent place to learn a lot about the local history of the Superstition Mountains. The gift store was absolutely fantastic and was filled with high-quality books about Arizona and southwest history, folklore, Native Americans, and the Wild West. We especially liked the large selection of locally mined semi-precious gemstones. The staff and volunteers at this Museum were all very friendly and helpful. Be sure to have a hat and water because it gets hot when youre walking around the grounds.

Very interesting place. Lots to learn, fantastic scenery, things for the kids to do and learn. Easy walking/ hiking. Lots of international visitors here as well.Went on a guided herbal walk today. Here are some photos. Note the delicate intact bones of a bird in a cactus. Greener than usual due to all the rain of late. Free tickets are available from the Apache Junction public library if you have a library card.Come see it. Worth a couple hours.

Had a great time touring the place. Different relics spread throughout the property. Look closely and youll see bones, old heavy buckets, etc. Really interesting items of note: maps showing the location of the old ranches (would be awesome to see a current day overlay on that showing roads), how the Superstitions were formed including rock samples, the old church and buildings, the drag stone mill, my favorite thing was the giant photograph showing a cattle roundup shot from the same position on the property today. That was incredible! Stop by the general store for an ice cream or soda, get your squished penny from the machine, lots of places to stop and rest for us old folk. Ill have to return in cooler weather to see some of the stuff that was closed for the summer.

One of the best and least expensive little museums with incredible exhibits indoors and outside! $5 adults. $4 seniors. Old barn, gallows, and chapel from Apacheland Movie Ranch, amazing outdoor train villages (only Nov-May Fri-Sun), a few trails, general store, good gift shop, ore grinding equipment displays including a huge stamper, burro rides, nice photo ops, picnic area. Stage coach with photo ops. No on site food, so take a picnic and allow plenty of time for the place, especially if you go on one of the days when they have one of their guest speakers/presenters, Heritage Days, or exhibitions.

Much more interesting than expected. When we piled three grandchildren and 5 adults ages 6 to 74 into the vehicle and headed out to visit the museum, some were grumbling a bit, but as soon as we arrived, everyone perked up and started exploring. The biggest surprise was that everything except the actual museum was free. And the museum was inexpensive especially with 17 and under free.We hiked around the trails and explored the old equipment, petted the animals, and took in the Elvis Church as well. The highlight was the 20 Stamp Mill, where they did a live demonstration of how ore was processed from big rocks into fine powder. It was very loud and totally worth the whole trip. It runs each Saturday morning at 11:00. Dont miss it!

This is a new and growing museum but you should definitely come here and throw money at them to support their work. They are trying to raise money so they can do a lot more interesting demonstrations. Its worth the long drive out here. The stamp machine demo was super cool, you will definitely want to see that if you can, its a very unique opportunity. The museum itself is very small, about 30-60 min to see, tops, but it has a little on a lot of different areas. The gift shop is pretty cool, lots of interesting books. The volunteers have a lot of enthusiasm and can answer questions.

I really enjoyed this museum. Keep in mind you can get a free pass if you visit your public library.Anyhow, the museum has 2 parts- the paid part is their indoor exhibit, and then they have some historical artifacts on the outside. The indoor exhibit took me a little over an hour to see. It was small, but if you take your time reading each sign, it can take a bit longer. I saw exhibits on animals in the deserts, Indian artifacts, geology of the area, and then also displays on the history of the area as well as stories of people that tried to look for the lost treasures. It was interesting to read, albeit it was a bit text heavy and sometimes the font was a bit small and tiring on the eyes. The older man walking around the exhibits was very kind and knowledgeable and really strived to add that personal touch!- kudos to him.The outdoors part was very fun as well. It took about an hour and half to walk around and carefully look at each exhibit. There was a chapel dedicated to Elvis, old mining and stamp mill displays, historic houses, and even a mini railroad. So much to see! It was still a bit hot though, so make sure to bring you water.
