The Canyon views along the trail are spectacular. Photos only fail to share the grandeur.

Ive only hike this area one time, at a Boy Scout camporee. Most of our hiking was along an old dirt road, but it was still effective at getting us into the middle of the Superstitions! You can never go wrong hiking in the Superstition Mountains, just be sure you bring enough water with you! We camped and had a great time. The going was not rough and we were able to even bring some young 11-year old scouts. There was not a lot of vehicle parking though.

If youre planning on doing a long distance several day hike in the desert this would be a good trail to get some conditioning on. It stays typically on the ridge line

This was my first time in this area. I took my kids and wanted to go to the trail head and go hiking and camping. I have a Jeep Cherokee, but to be honest we had to end up parking at the start of the road to the trail head. The road had too many sections that would be very difficult to get past. You would need a nice Jeep or Truck with good clearance to be able to crawl through those areas on the road. If you have that then you can get to the trail head by vehicle. We had to hike the road and then only went a little ways up the actual trail. It was a beautiful hike still. We named the area Catclaw Forest. There were so much cat claw around the creek that if you wanted to camp you would not be able to make it there because of the catclaw. Not many trees or no trees around, but the landscape was still beautiful. Fun for hiking. I gave it 4 stars because of the road condition.

The trail that comes after you depart from Tortilla Flats is absolutely beautiful. The breathtaking views you get during the windy turns through the mountains were simply amazing.

I do not know if there are words to describe the amazing everything that is out there. There is peace in the Valley is a great way to describe the tranquility of this place. So much to see and not enough daylight to see it all...

Totally worth the mile drive past the end of the tar road! We parked right at the trail head and hiked up a bit with our 4 kiddos. They did great and you dont have to go far to get great views.

Around 1964 my dad would take us up to the Tortilla Ranch which was owned by Floyd Stone (Reavis Ranch) . Mickey Plemons, the Ranch Boss, let me ride some of his horses.
