This has been a hike Ive wanted to go on for a while and Im glad I did it after the snow. Yes it does snow here sometime, who knew! Its about 2.6 miles to the waterfall. Lots to see along the way. Definitely recommend this hike!

One of my favorite hikes in the valley. The views are amazing and its not too tough. Make sure you bring lots of water in the summer there is really no shade except for the end of the trail. Watch for snakes on the trail we saw one this time. Also its a busy trail so be wary of people, pets, and horses. Watch out for horse apples along the trail as well. Great hike!

A great Hike! About two and a half miles in for a total of 5 miles overall. A moderate hike not recommended for novices. The vistas were well worth the hike. Plan on taking the better part of the day for this hike.

Worth hiking after it rains for sure. Took about 3 hours to complete. Trail wasn’t difficult, but there where times where it got my blood pumping. I would only recommend this hike on weekdays or early weekends, because the crowds will be there, and it will be difficult getting a decent picture of the falls with all the bodies around.

With the waterfall flowing, it made this hike even more special than when its not. 2 hours 59 minutes at a leisurely pace with time at the cliffs and the waterfall.

Head out on a weekday- we had a typically busy trail to ourselves. We got lucky and the falls were still running. I imagine it dries up. Amazing views the entire time. Definitely a workout, bring lots of water.

Awsome trail really cool waterfalls at the end if your there at the right time of year. Trail is well marked heavily trafficked but still have your own space, plenty of parking, no restrooms but food and bathrooms are nearby. Bring lots of water!!!! Lots of mean cactus along trail

Superstition mtns have always been sacred to the apaches, the home of their Thunder God and did whatever it took to keep people out of them. The Pima’s who were here before the apaches, recall the story of the ‘Great flood’ that happened in the Superstition mtns. this is the trail that takes you to the area where apaches killed the Peralta mining family as they tried to retreat back to Mexico after trespassing into the sacred mtns mining for gold. Burros laden with gold that were also killed were found with the gold intact years later.

Be warned, we did this hike today and thoroughly enjoyed it, BUT it took us 4 hours and 15 minutes to hike to the falls and back to the car. My wife and I are in good shape and hike at an average pace, stopping for just a few minutes at a time for drinks of water and photos. If this is more than you want, the first two thirds of the hike gives you fantastic views.

Beautiful trail. There is a lit of cactus and they are very close to the trail, so if you have a pet that likes to wander may not be the best trail to take them on. Parts have steep inclines while other parts have a very slight grade. Overall a great trail to start your morning with and find a spot to enjoy the views.

I love hiking out here much prefer this over North mountain South mountain Camelback mountain. Not a fan of hiking up a mountain and looking down and seeing buildings. Hiking is to see scenery not structures.

I can only guess the no maintenance approach is to discourage the casual trail user from over using the trails approaching the base of the Superstitions. The unintended result is a slow steady erosion of the land immediately surrounding the parking areas as trucks and SUVS seem to find a creative way to park in previously untouched park land. Time to at least set boundaries and limit parking and end the steady degradation of the land.

Some good trails for mountain biking, but needs a lot more riders to keep the trails from desert overgrowth in many places.
