It is a lovely area to be. Tucked gently outside the urban areas of Annapolis, it provides a wonderful little view of the Chesapeake bay, with views of Kent island, the bay bridge, the far reaching expansion of the bay southward, and the thomas point lighthouse. It seems to be popular for local fishing, and has a pavilion for eating lunch in the shade. I often come down as a bike rider, and it is a safe and pleasant experience doing so. Some extra little fun things include a blue dinosaur near the entrance and a cozy looking cabin about halfway down the isthmus. I highly recommend for locals and tourists alike!

Car entry and parking is by permit only. Two sets of gates, no parking signs and yellow tape everywhere.Nearest street parking is 1 mile away.

Nice place to just sit and take a break from reality. Lots of fisherman on the banks. Gorgeous views of different highlights in the bay. More for adults than children, but there are a few spots where a picnic can be had. Porta-potties are the only amenities, so bring toilet paper, wipes, hand sanitizer, etc. Also, bring your own food and drink.

Nice place to take a walk and see a nice sunset. There are two gates, so I don’t believe this would be a great place to watch a sunset. The opening hours are far past sunset and the gates will keep you from getting in to see the sunrise. There are many potholes on the road in, and it’s only a one-lane road, so definitely drive slow. There are a bunch of deer and many birds that live here, so there’s a strong chance you’ll see wildlife on your trip here. It’s a free park, so that’s also very nice. The lighthouse is a lot farther from the point than I thought it was, so it was a bit difficult to get a picture worth saving with my phone.

Nice park with a good view, though its kinda unclear that you need a pass/permit to access the park - a lil too easy to get your car trapped behind a locked gate

Very nice place to go fishing, but hard to get the fishing permit from the park. Generally, they sell only 5 per dayly and 75 per monthly permits

An historic Anne Arundel County park, it is part of Chesapeake Bay Heritage. Beautiful, natural scenery, with plenty of waterfowl and wildlife. Great for walking, picnicking, and fishing. Great longviews of the Thomas Point lighthouse and Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Be sure to read the rules online for going in & out of the park. Permits are required for some parts, except in winter. Also, be aware that there are numerous potholes on the clay/gravel road inside the park.

Great park to see the dinosaur and fish, bike, or walk. The gate is usually open and there are great views of the bay and Bay bridge from the point.

This park is not really a public. Permit thing is ridiculous. However, if you are lucky to get in, fishing is hot!

Nice for fishing and/or relaxing. We took a picnic and it was great. Its nice to just sit and watch the other fisherman too. My kids had a great time climbing on the rocks and getting their feet wet down on the little sandy beach.

The local guide is not correct about the park being free. During the warmer spring and summer there is a fee to get further back in the park.not so during the fall and winter months .Also I have been coming here for yrs and the scenery here including sunrise and sunset are spectacular.

This spot is awesome. Came here after going to Quiet Waters park. That was really pretty, but also full of people. This spot felt really remote and has beautiful views. A true hidden gem in the Annapolis area.

Beautiful, but very limited parking, limited hours, and the fishing is subpar. If the state fixed it up a bit and maybe added a 100 ft pier, then this spot would be extremely popular

No parking, with aggressive enforcement, make this a private park for the enjoyment of the adjacent (wealthy) community. Of course, all of AA county is taxed to pay for it.

I truly love this park with amazing views are amazing and its natural setting, it is a lovely place to escape to. Be forewarned you need a permit to drive in so its easiest to bike into the park as parking is very limited. The rental pavillions are a great place to host a cookout/party.

Its a quiet and tucked away park with a beautiful view. To bring your car all the way past the second gate, you need to purchase a permit that has the padlock combo. The park itself is really scenic but can get messy if you visit while its raining. There is supposed to be a side footpath that goes through the forest from the second gate to the point but its very overgrown.

Very nice small park with a scenic walk or bike ride in, completely hidden from the public, and because of that, rarely ever that busy. Definitely a nice change from the busy older brother, Quiet Waters Park a few miles away. You cant park inside this park without a pass, plus theres only like 4 or 5 parking spots anyway, unless you are a member and can unlike the gate to drive your car to the very end. Its free to walk or ride your bike in though. Theres no gate guard.

Excellent 270 degree view of the Chesapeake Bay South of the bay bridge. My primary use is for Winter bird-watching, which can be excellent at times, but the warm weather fishing is very good. (Permit required). There are a few picnic tables, port-a-johns, and a reservable area for larger gatherings.

Nowhere does it say you need a fishing pass to get through the gate. Luckily a neighbor came outside and told us to just go through the first gate and walk the rest of the way. When we finally made it to the end of the park the lighthouse was over a mile away and we couldnt really even see it.

Entry is by paid permit only, and sometimes, they run out early. I assume permits to fish, which are available, are exrra. The lighthouse is at a considerable distance from the point. Bring binoculars if youre interested in a viewNot a great place for those with limited mobility. Its a pretty peaceful place, except when other visitors insist on playing (c)rap on their car stereos. The park, itself, is pretty, with the environment mostly undisturbed, except for the out-of-place concrete dinosaur as you walk toward the water. Was the visit worth it? Yes.Would I do it again? No.

Quiet little park area tucked away in a neighborhood, nice to visit but a pain to get a permit to enter the area, they should just make it a public area like the rest of the parks in the county and it would be a lot better... but still, if you have the chance to visit it, then go...
