The William Paca House and Garden is exceptional. It is a little treasure in downtown Annapolis and my husband and I were lucky to be married there. Jody, our wedding coordinator, was so helpful and reassured us that our day would be perfect. Thankfully, it was perfect, due to Jody and her staffs amazing work. I would not have changed a single thing. My husband and I both loved working with them and they made us feel so comfortable. We love how effortless they made the process seem. There was flexibility in the ceremony location and the purpose of the Summer House which was wonderful to have. We could not be any happier with how our wedding day played out. Thank you Jody, Jinny, and Kelly!

The House is closed due to Covid. The Garden is interesting, but we went late in the season so it wasnt as pretty as it could be in bloom. The House provides a one page walking tour of the Garden. Nice folks work there.

We did enjoy our visit to the garden, however for $5, I did expect to see a bit healthier looking of a garden. I understand its the heat of the Summer, and there were still plenty of pretty plants and fruits to look at, but some plants looked a bit dry. We did not tour the house and this review strictly pertains the garden.

Words can scarcely express the amazing experience we had for our daughters Sept 2019 wedding! From the very first planning-meeting (many months ahead) through the recovery days after the wedding, Jody Dalton provided expert, thoughtful guidance and assistance on everything! This was our first wedding (oldest child), so we were very intimidated at first. However, Jody is such a seasoned PRO that we opted to NOT hire a Wedding Planner/Coordinator-- because Jodys involvement was so comprehensive and on-point. (TIP: Book Jody AND any of the Catering companies on her preferred list {we booked Kens Creative Kitchen for ours}-- and you get the combined coordination between TWO key players (the Venue and the Caterer), working in concert. ) No detail was overlooked. At the event itself, Jody served as behind-the-scenes quarterback, directing all the actions of her staff and the catering staff to make ours a flawless, casual and comfortable evening for all 140 guests-- and 100% worry-free for the bride and groom! Jody also helped us (Mom and Dad) personally-- throughout the evening-- with helpful, unobtrusive, gentle reminders along the way to keep us on-track for accomplishing all elements of the reception (toasts, cake-cutting, etc.) without ever feeling rushed. The venue itself is hands-down the most beautiful, perfectly-sized spot for a true Historic Annapolis wedding! You cannot take a bad photo anywhere in the place! When it was all over, we almost wanted to do it all over AGAIN, just work with Jody some more :-) If youre set on having an Annapolis wedding, we cannot IMAGINE a better, easier, more cost-effective, or more wonderful spot and support team than Wm. Paca House and Jody Dalton. | Lastly-- Brides: go talk with Jody just once-- even if you dont end up booking the Paca House, youll be glad you met her!

William Paca was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. The Paca House through Historic Annapolis offers fun and creative events all year long. The Gardens are gorgeous in the Spring and Summer and the Open House in December gives glimpses into Christmas during colonial times.

Such a beautiful house and interesting, detailed tour. Our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable, not just about the house but the period in general. She did a. Great job connecting the history of the house and family to the history of the United States and Annapolis. It was really interesting. You can visit just the gardens for less than the cost of a tour and the gardens are beautiful as well.

My wife and I really enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. There are very few items in the house that actually belonged to William Paca which can always be a little disappointing, but that could be why the tour is priced so low. Unfortunately, the gardens were inaccessible on the day we visited, but they do look beautiful.

I went on a cloudy summer day and only did the garden tour. The garden is smaller than expected. We went during summer so expected the garden to be in full bloom but there were only two flowers in bloom the rest were dead. Was a little disappointed but the tour was not expensive. I will probably try going back during spring season where hopefully more of the flowers will be in bloom

The Paca House and its gardens are among the most beautiful and historic in Maryland. As an heirloom seed preservation trust, the Paca Gardens provide an incredible source for unaltered foods and decorative native plants in America. The May plant sale fundraiser is also a great source for acquiring these plants and foods, and provides the Paca House with much needed income.

We didnt get to tour the William Paca House itself - you have to go on a tour, which have limited availability and are offered at specific times - albeit worth checking out before you go and planning around. I do look forward to visiting one day! We did walk the two acre eighteenth century style garden, which had several garden rooms, a pond, a folly type building and a bridge. All in all a great place for photo ops (and instagram posts)!

As an Annapolitan I am particularly proud of this historic landmark. It is well maintained and beautifully landscaped. My niece’s wedding was held here the day after Hurricane Isabel; even with power outages and downed trees, the event was gorgeous. Don’t miss the spring sale of divided plants and shrubs. The items are healthy and priced to sell; get in line early because they always sell out!

Inexpensive, but informative tour. As a history buff, I wanted to visit some of Annapolis historical sites. Loved learning about Pacas life and walking through a house that was restored as well as this one. The garden area is not huge, but a nice relaxing walk in a walled off and well kept garden. Loved getting to take a step into the past and witness a small part of how Paca and his fellow countrymen lived in colonial America.

An amazing experience. We took the 45-60 minute all-inclusive tour and were blown away at how much we learned. The tour guide knew so much about the home and the period of history in which it was built. Getting to see the day-to-day life of the people, servants, and culture was fascinating. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is interested in 1700s-era history. Make sure you take the time to walk in the gardens and see the summerhouse as well!

My wife and I got married here in the Fall. This location is hidden within the beautiful streets of Annapolis! To dance, eat, drink and mingle with friends and family while overlooking the beautiful gardens was such a treat. You really are transported to another place and time, which really creates such a nostalgic feel (perfect for a wedding in my opinion). The wedding director and her staff are true professionals, but also make you feel like family. I do not know how many weddings come in and out of the gardens, but Jodie (the director) really makes you feel special...as though all her time, energy, and passion is going into your special day. This IS the best place to get married in Annapolis!

Went to a wedding there and it was just a very strange set up.The wedding was outside. There were only 14 chairs set up for seating during the actual service, but there must have been about 50 guests. There werent enough appetizers for all the guests. I left a plate with some cheese, crackers, and a shrimp at the table because they kept telling everyone to go over to where the DJ was to see the couple dance. When we got back to the table the food was gone!!! They took everyones plates! One of the women in charge spoke to me very curtly at one point when I was going to cut a piece of cake. It was just so rude and unnecessary.Other areas were lacking, as well. My DIL got a chipped plate, my gold flatware was quite worn compared to the place settings at the rest of the table. The bathrooms were terrible. Two stalls in the ladies room, where there really should have only been one toilet in such a small room. The toilets were very old and low to the ground, and the stall was so small restricting movement. It reminded me of grade school. The men had one toilet and a urinal in theirs and it doubled as the handicapped bathroom. It was extremely hot and humid for October. The staff was inside in the air conditioning, while the guests were outside melting. Of course, the weather is not under their control, but they could have at least had some fans set up outside for air movement.

We had our wedding at the Paca House and it was an amazing, beautiful event. Jody, the director for weddings and events, is a true pro. She was amazing during the planning and implementation of our event. The Paca House is a wonderful, historic backdrop for your wedding and I cant recommend it enough. Heres why:From the start, Jody was responsive and attentive. She asked us questions we had not thought of and made great suggestions about how to best set up our reception. She even pointed us to an amazing caterer in Kens Creative Kitchen. Jody has a reputation for being honest and upfront about her rules and the vendors respect her for setting the ground rules. We had no problem with any of our vendors because they all knew that Jody called the shots. In the days before the event Jody made sure all of the vendors were on a timeline for delivery and set-up. Most importantly, she made sure on the day of the event we were able to steal 5 minutes away from the reception. She gave us her office and made sure no one bothered us for a few minutes so that we could have a moment alone. It was one of the few time that we had a chance to spend alone that whole day and it was all because of Jodys suggestion. If you want a fairy-tale wedding in one of the most idyllic settings in Annapolis, then the Paca House is right for you. Weddings are hard events to plan and the Paca House team, led by Jody, made our lives much easier.

This was unfortunately a very disappointing experience. The price was very high for the service and opportunity provided; would not recommend paying for the house tour. The Paca house itself was very interesting and Im glad for the opportunity to view the lifestyle of the Paca family first-hand. However the tour guide, Michele , was absolutely terrible. She was not friendly, cordial, and micro-managed the tour; most disappointing was her lack of knowledge of the history behind the most basic information - for example, how Mary Paca passed away - and her disdain for questions and interest of the tour outside of what she wanted to speak about. The tour was actually uncomfortable and I almost left multiple times throughout but didnt because of the high cost of admission and wanting to get as much out of it as possible. The garden grounds were very pleasant and kept up, but there was nothing striking. Other than for the avid history buff, I would not recommend visiting this historic location.

FYI Saturday tours end at 2:30 for weddings. I must have missed that somewhere arriving at 3:20 but I wasnt the only one so thats heartening. They still sold me a $5 garden ticket (only good til 3:50) to look at a dry ravine, barren flower beds, scorched shrubs and a folly visible from google images. On top of it, the wedding set up was fully underway so we were pushed around and it was made clear we were unwelcome. Oh and idyllic peace? Only if you enjoy tacky DJ beats. FYI not handicapped accessible. I recognize my standards for house tours are high bc we enjoy it as a family and have visited dozens of the great American houses in truly every single state. While I was looking forward to this, it was an utter disappointment.
