Wow! I discovered this little treasure while visiting Amarillo. Its a beautiful, solemn acknowledgment of our brave military men and women, who dedicated their lives to serve. I felt so proud, as I reflected on my grandfather, uncles and friends who have served.Unfortunately, COVID 19, has the museum portion closed, but I look forward to seeing what wonderful history awaits inside.Who knew Id find such a place in Amarillo?!Thank you to each person who has sacrificed their life to serve, protect and secure my safety and freedom. May God always protect and bless our countrymen who serve!

Quaint little park outside of our local Veterans Museum. Its a great, quiet place to visit. On Veterans and Military holidays, there is usually a shin dig here with a fantastic flag ceremony and twenty-one gun salute, put on by the Vets and Auxiliary of VFW Post 1657. These events are well worth bringing your family to!

This is a great place to go either by yourself or take your whole family. Its a nice park with lots of different things to look at having to do with veterans from the Panhandle area. I think they go back to the Spanish-American War. I dont remember all of them but I know there are ones for Korea, Vietnam, World War I, World War II, Afghanistan and more. Theyve also got an old jet, I think from the 1960s and a helicopter like what was used in Vietnam. Theres a visitor reflection room but I havent been able to go in at because the two times Ive been there it was closed and locked. Im trying to find out what the hours are so I can go sometime when it is open. There is also ample parking which I didnt realize the first time I went. I parked on residential street just north of the park but on the south side of the park theres a large parking lot was plenty of room.
