Wow! Only open to the public on Wednesday and Saturday but a stunning renovation/ labor of love by dedicated railway and steam locomotive enthusiasts. This 1,000,000lb (yes, 1 million pound) behemoth will soon come back to life, in all its glory. Reckon a good hour here and do stop by the really good gift store...

Awesome visit! This place got me goosebumps, hats off to the people working there. A gentleman gave us a very knowledgeable tour of locomotive from its history to their efforts to make it run again! It was very kind of them to offer us water and make us stand in the shade whenever he feels that the explanation will be longer.I recommend this place 100% and request people to do a small donation to preserve history!

Historic Santa Fe steam locomotive 2926 is being restored by a dedicated group of volunteers, and they are open on Wednesdays and Saturdays for tours. Admission is free, and donations are appreciated and important to finish the restoration. After 12 years of work, the group plans to have steam in the boiler in 2015. Seeing the giant locomotive, and the interesting restoration work being done by the volunteers makes for a visit with historical and educational values.
