A most awesome display of ballooning in all aspects of its history. For a mere spectator it was the icing on the cake. Ive thought of this event for 30+ years and to drive up and see this modern large building dedicated to my thoughts was fantastic. With ample parking and easy access, my self tour began. Left to explore I spent much more time than had expected. Ty for a great 15 days Albuquerque.

The whole museum is amazing, very interesting things to look at regarding the history and making of the balloons. Balloon fiesta is one of the most amazing things you can ever see, people come from allover the world to see it. Highly recommend checking out the museum and gift shop. Good place for children. Awesome facts you can find to take back home with you.

This is a nice museum about ballooning. And that is what you get. Right next to the balloon fiesta park. Lots of displays. Lots of placards of information. A 4D ballooning experience movie (blow wind on your face and shakes the seats while you watch a giant screen). Fun. Tons of space for a an event too.

I actually really enjoyed the museum way more than I thought and it is truly a incredibly well done museum. The installations are high quality and theres a good mix of interactivity. I would say my biggest drawback was the lack of docents. Felt a little too self guided and I had questions with no one to ask. But still totally go because its a weird and fun thing with a lot of unique history and weather facts!

They have fun days where the kids get to learn new things, see dances, have reading time. Great experience for kids on a field trip for sure but you do run out of things to do quickly. I had to let my group run around outside for a bit to let off some of their energy.

Very nice museum for people who are interested in the history of lighter than air flight. They have items from things everyone knows about and things most people have never heard about. They also have a nice 3D movie. Unfortunately, the movie is a promotion for a hot air balloon sightseeing company. They dont have a cafe, and I didnt even find a gift shop. And they dont have enough places for disabled persons like myself to sit down and rest.

This museum sits on the park where the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is held every year starting on the first Saturday of October. There are fascinating displays regarding the history and record-setting achievements related to hot air and gas ballooning. Ballooning has a longer history than most may realize and has contributed greatly to science over the centuries. I particularly liked the history related to ballooning in Albuquerque and the key balloon pilots and residents whose passion and vision helped create this amazing event.

Cute museum with a variety of things to see. It was neat learning about what they use to go with balloons and all the people that have tried different things. Like women use to parachute out of balloons holding onto a wooden ring attached to the parachute. Holy cow. Also was neat to learn about things from the Albuquerque balloon fiesta. They also do things for teachers if they want to take their class there. The people were really nice

If Google allowed for an extra star to be given, I certainly wouldnt hesitate to give this place one. I recently journeyed into the International Balloon Museum on a late Tuesday afternoon to kill some spare time. What made my visit unique was that I had the entire museum to myself which allowed me to explore the museum uninterrupted for nearly two hours. What can I say about this place? It is perhaps Albuquerques finest museum. It is well funded, informative, organized, clean, interactive, and state of the art. The high standard of this museum as well as its substantial size is what took me back the most. For a 5 dollar entry fee ($6 for out of state residents) you certainly get far more than your money’s worth.Although the museum is self guided. Areas are nonetheless clearly marked and exhibits are well explained to visitors on nearby plaques/posts. From the history of early ballon flight in Western Europe, exploration attempts across the Arctic ice, to how balloon and related weather technology are utilized today. The museum does a fine job in presenting how ballooning has been relevant in the past and continues to be in the current year.In addition to this, the main exhibition era in the center front of the building (that overlooks balloon fiesta field) showcases an impressive display of life size exhibits. Allowing visitors to get a true sense of the grandeur that encompasses ballooning. The museum gift shop near the front exit of the building is also worth venturing into. It offers are large array of balloon and New Mexican themed nicknacks and local artwork. Staff are also friendly and a number of the merchandise available for purchase is reasonably priced. The International Balloon Museum is definitely what I would describe as a hidden gem of the city of Albuquerque. It displays pride in both its presentation of itself and of the cities most identifiable trademark. If a tourist or a local of the duke city who has never visited. The Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Museum is a huge must see attraction.

Cute, small museum, probably took 1.5-2.5 hours. 3 stars because I felt lost, there didnt seem to be clear directions. If youre like me and want that, be sure to ask for a map or advice on what order to see things. Also, did not seem very well kept. Many displays were in need of service, but everything was clean.

Great museum presenting history of ballooning with great sections on high altitude experiments that preceded space program in ‘50s and’60s and the various modern attempts to cross Atlantic and Pacific and circle the globe. Remarkable collection of actual passenger capsules and gondolas ,and models or replicas of the capsules they don’t actually have. Fitting tribute to heroic exploration!

The NM street food and beer festival was an absolute disappointment. Huge lines for only 2 breweries that showed for the event. The samples were mainstream, tired beer like happy camper and bosque ipa, which you can get anywhere. Stood in line for food for an over an hour. Went to grab a beer and the line was so long we decided to just leave. Not worth the admission at all. Will not be returning. Everyone had to sit on the groud which was covered in actual poop. Went with a group of people and everyone was just so disappointed. You could hear absolutely everyone talking about the lack of event planning. At $35 general admission it was trash.

Not only is the view stunning with the balloons close enough you feel as if you could touch them you get to be in a cozy glass enclosed room with a wonderful buffet and warm drinks. We were originally suppose to be down on the field but went to purchase our tickets too late and decided to spend the extra money to go to the museum event. It was the best decision we made!
