An outstanding treasure to visit. Our visit was very informative and scenic. The Ranger at the Visitor center was very helpful and made sure to give us directions to each Petroglyph site as well as the Volcanic area. Breathtaking views were par for the course at each of our stops.

I found the hike to the volcanoes beautifully empty and scenic. It takes just a few minutes to drive from downtown Albuquerque to an open landscape with painting-like views of the entire valley.

I absolutely love this place. And go to it all the time. Hiking, peaceful, lonely, nature and view of the whole city from the west side its beautiful. You can walk for hours and not get board and its all a big circle.

Great place for a hike of a bike ride. Not too much for a beginner but, fun for people of all ability leave. Can make it a small hike with great views. Or spend a couple of hours hiking around. It is about a 3 mile trail with 2 peaks to climb up. The trail is set up as a figure eight. With one peak about one mile in. Here is a great place to stop and take a picture. One can see the city from the top.

Great trails and a unique natural site. Go prepared; theres no shade and it is often very windy. The ground can be unstable at points as well due to loose rocks. Due to its close proximity to Double Eagle Airport, you can often see planes flying patterns in the area.

Took my 2 boys ages 6 ages 11 to the Los Valcones trail. It was a fairly easy trail but we went in the early afternoon so it was hot. We also didnt get to finish the entire trail because part of it was closed off. Overall had a good time and would like to go back and finish the whole thing when it is open.

Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and of the Sandia mountains from the tops of the volcanos. Trails are easy and fairly short for a simple day hike. Bring plenty of water for the hike, it can get very hot and is very dry usually.
