Great place to bring animals but beware there’s always that one that won’t mind itself

The Alamogordo Mud Park oh Im sorry the Alamogordo Dog Park would be great if there werent standing water and deep mud everywhere from way way too much watering. Calling and notifying the of the problem doesnt help

A place to let the dogs run with a little room. I only gave three stars as there are a few problems. First is there is dog poop all over. I guess people get to visiting each other and not watching their pets. Second is the lack of improvement of the years. Seems a asphalt parking lot was more important than actual amenities. Also would be nice for grass rather than weeds. Not putting the place down, just being honest.

Nice large area for dogs to play and run off leash. Many people are there 2x daily everyday. They look out for newcomers & make you feel welcome. Be sure to pick up your dogs mess. They do get fussy about that.

Great place for both dogs and people to socialize.

Our pups loved this park! Ample space and parking. All the dogs were very well-mannered and owners were attentive. Would go back if ever in the area again.

Great park, well taken care of, water, toys, and most all owners that Ive seen take care of cleaning up after their pets. The only issue Ive run into is an owner of two dogs bit my dog on the ear. I told her if dogs bite they shouldnt come to the dog park. I should have called the police and had her banned but I didnt. If your dogs cant handle being at the dog park with large groups of dogs you shouldnt bring them or keep them sperate. But otherwise weve always enjoyed this park.

Its what Alamogordos got, which isnt bad. Unfortunately, a lot of people dont clean up after their dogs so you have to watch your step. Pickup bags and water are provided.

Drove threw Alamogordo and needed to stop and let the dogs run, such a beautiful and well kept dog park but was shocked when we were done, my long haired dog had a bunch of seeds stuck to him all over, it made his fur very tangled and took about an hour to brush it all out. Would love to come back, but really hope those seeds are taken care of. :)

Great park if you have pets in Almorgordo.

People and dogs are always on best behavior when I go here. Very low-key folks have helped me with my shelter dogs, who often come in with issues. There is even a not OK corral if someone needs a time out!

Just added security cameras and lighting. Also planted more trees. Come on out!!

This dog park was a real hidden gem. Fenced, grassy (well mostly grassy for the desert) and lots of local dogs during the day. Friendly people. A great place for our dog to run and play before we went to White Sands.

A friend of ours was in town for the holidays. We decided to bring her and her dog to bark park to play for a bit. We had never been to this park, but had heard good things from some of our friends. We arrived and found plenty of parking (albeit with some rather deep potholes scattered about). Our friend got a head start as we were getting our baby girl out of the car seat. Unfortunate, we had no sooner removed the baby, when there was an incident. Within 3 minutes of entering the park, our friend noticed that another guest was being negligent and allowing her seemingly rabid and hostile dog to race around the park unsupervised, attacking the other dogs who were trying to enjoy the park. My friends dog was attacked within minutes and is now missing a piece of her ear. As we were tending to her bleeding face, the owner of the vicious dog seemed unaffected and unconcerned that her dog had ripped my friends dog apart and was currently continuing to harass the other dogs in the park. Not really sure what can be done, as it seems like a play at your own risk scenario. It was an unfortunate and deeply regrettable first (and last) visit to this park. While I hope that our visit was a fluke experience, I thought it worth sharing so that future visitors might better prepared for the sorts of animals who attend this park; both human and canine.

Great place to bring your dog but the dog amenities need to be fixed.

Nice park with lots of space for the dogs to run and play, water fountains and bowls available as well as benches for the humans. The only con really is even though poop bags and hand sanitizer plus trash cans are plentiful people still dont pick up after their dogs. Im not sure if the city cleans the park or when. Its still a great place for dogs and their owners to socialize. My dog loves the place and goes bananas if we drive past and dont stop, its his playground and he knows it.

The dogs and owners are so friendly. Theres always plenty of toys and water bowls for your pup to have a safe and fun experience. The dogs love to play ball, tug of war, and with frisbees as well as the tractor tires and the teetortottor

My dog really loves this park. She gets along with other dogs that are allowed to play freely.

They have done a lot to update this park it is now a very nice place to go bring your dog as most people are very friendly and their dogs are well-behaved

Nice big park. Water fountains, toys, large tires and ladders for them to play with. Two and four leggers will enjoy!

Dog HeavenWell maybe not quite, but most dogs sure get excited to come back again. Quite a large area that can be divided into two sections. There are some dog tires, tunnels, and teeter totters that none of the dogs use. Plenty of grass and a few trees for the dogs to frolic in. There six shelter areas with benches and covers, two water fountains, and plenty of bags and trash cans to be able to throw away your pets waste.

Very spacious, double gate to help get the dogs in without trouble. Always has poop baggies available and garbage cans to dispose! There are obstacles for the pups and shaded benches for owners.

We love bringing our dog here. The double gates help keep pretty from running out, and there is convenient water available everywhere. Theres even separate gated areas for dogs in heat, or to keep larger dogs away from smaller ones.

Great dog park, a little old and some toys are run down but over all a great park.

Great dog park with a big and a little area for diff sized dogs. There are agility courses in cin each one to entertain your dog and tire them out. Nice local and traveling folks with their dogs. Very close to the KOA Campground we are staying at too. Very convenient. Also a great view of the Mountains and be sure to check out the popular Lady in the Mountains outline to the south of the dog park up in the mtn range. Plenty of parking and nice grass too. Water fountains but we prefer to drink and bring our own bowl and a jug of the local water store water from HIGH DESERT WATER on Indian Springs up by the Walmart Express food mart. Check out their ice too....its made with their filtered water and the ice is so clear and clean...tastes so good in my drinks.

This park usually always has someone there with their dog. Theres tons of people with their dogs on week nights and even more on the weekends. Pet owners were seemingly responsible.There isnt a separate area for small dogs. There is a gate for separation at the far end but it typically isnt closed unless there was a dog fight earlier. BUT feel free to close it upon arrival of youd like some privacy. The park seems to have many small cliques but everyone is friendly enough.Bags, garbages, and hand sanitizer are provided for use there.
