Omg I’m so glad my mom took me here! I’m obsessed with everything space related and to pay this place a visit was awesome!! You go up five levels and then make your way down while viewing pictures and items from space exploration history. It really opens up your eyes to how far we’ve come as human beings. There’s more than enough space to move around without having to be too close to people. The staff were also very friendly! I definitely recommend this place!

Just GO!!!!Wow!Its a Space Museum.Wow!!You elevator up five stories, and then just saunter your way down.Yeah, this is biased. I am a space geek.Dont forget to look at the outside displays. If theres at least two of you, make sure you whisper at each other, from 100 ft away, at the listening dishes. Awesome! And the staff is super friendly and helpful.

If you are into real space and the technology mankind has developed to explore it, then come check this place out. They have a decent collection of items both original and replicas in and around the four level building. Theres a section inside the building where kids can play as well as a gift shop.In 2016, they dedicated a part of one floor to Star Trek because it continues to play a role in capturing the imagination of those interested in space exploration and drives many to enter and excel in all the various fields of science. This is not anywhere near as expansive as the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC and Chantilly, VA, but its fitting for the area that its in. Parking is free, its inexpensive to get in, and youll end up learning quite a bit from the time you spend in there.Recommended!

A well-done museum focusing on NM part of the Rockets and Space Exploration. However, the museum does not minimize the contributions of scientists from other countries and centuries old astronomers and mathematicians. The Hall of Fame includes them all. The museum includes many original artifacts (missiles, meteorological, space), including equipment I remember my Dad using for meteorology. There is also a nice exhibit on HAM the first chimp in space (as well as his grave site). As an added bonus, there is even a Star Trek component. We highly recommend the stop.

I call it the Little Museum Atop a Hill. The New Mexico Museum of Space History is a 30-minute drive from the White Sands National Monument. Since I am attracted to anything concerning space, I decided to drive to the east side of Alamogordo, New Mexico to check it out.The museum is not hard to locate. In fact, you can see even a mile afar, as it is situated atop a hill. First impression: the building looks magnificent from where it stands. There’s the mountain range as its backdrop. Then there’s the view of the town below on the other side.It is advisable to take the elevator to the fourth level and start the space journey from the topmost to the bottom. From the window, you will see down below several old rockets on display outside. The various rocket components are displayed in a manner that allowed visitors to study the technological evolution of this science.I will recommend this place for anyone visiting Alamogordo, NM.

I Recently started working at the Space Hall of Fame 30 days ago and had not been to visit the museum since 1980?? As a kid I remember the museum being somewhat boring, however now The museum is awesome!!! It has something for the kids and for the adults alike , it now has interactive exhibits, you can dress up in space suits on the first floor and take pictures in front of the huge backdrop,, it is reasonably priced and the gift shop is awesome too... Once you’re done with that visit, head to White Sands which is pretty cool too, make it one of your visits on your vacation!!!!

If you love history or space travel you should enjoy yourself. The building has some displays outside and 4 levels inside. You take the elevator to the top then walk down through each level. It shouldnt be any problem if you are in a wheelchair. The museum isnt huge but it has some cool stuff and a couple of simulators, like landing the shuttle and what it feels like to be on different types of Rockets during blast off. There is also a little Gene Roddenberry Star Trek exhibit which was nice to see. They do have a gift shop which is pretty small, and they also have a couple of movies you can see.

Very good displays of the history of space travel. They included a significant amount of space to Russian cosmonauts and have included a number of Russian and other foreign space explorers in the hall of fame. I was impressed by the inclusion of German scientists who developed the V2 and other rockets in WWII. And how, when Germany surrendered, they came to America to join our laboratories and space program. The displays are being updated. I hope they continue to display items from NASA, Las Alimos, White Sands, and the Space centers. The only improvement, if any, would be to expand the outdoor displays. I enjoyed the tour and would go back.
