Great for scenic walks and quiet time for introspection. It’s close to major roads but it seems like you’re in absolute wilderness! I love this park. Playgrounds are better at Hugh, but this park definitely wins on aesthetics!

First time going to the park and it was beautiful, alot bigger than I anticipated from when I see it while driving by the park. Great big paved trail with little nature unpaved off road trails. Really felt like I was out in the middle of nature. My dog loved it. Definitely going to go back here again!

Nice area for city park - has playground and walking/running trail. There are classes offered in the Welcome Center that are very informative & most interesting. They have some wildlife exhibits there as well. Picnic shelters are available but I don’t know if you have to reserve or pay to use them.

I have visited Halyburton Park in the past and decided to stop in to walk around between jobs yesterday. It is a very peaceful setting with plenty of tress and shade, a childrens play area, picnic shelters, and a nice welcome center. The Park is very clean and well managed like other New Hanover County Parks. The staff seems to take pride in their facility and it reflects on how nice the park is.The William Halyburton Park is one that I would recommend to anyone looking for a little break and some me time during the day.

This is the best park to visit for Pokemon Go players. A shorter loop for for quick visits with 3(!) Gyms and about six stops with a larger loop for a nice 1 mile walk and double the stops. A gathering almost every weekend for raids. A must visit for pogo fans. Dont visit after dark. Police frequent this park and it closes at about 9 pm

The City of Wilmington (COW) has let this place go to pot. The wood on front of building never painted rotting away. The trees need to be pruned inside park and up and down 17th Street leading into park. The COW has created a 17st extension leading into park with live oaks growing into the road so bad the branches hit your car and scratch it. Trim the trees up and down 17st leading into the park it looks like another one of the COWs 9 ghettos!!!

Loved the park and all the trails. The only thing is that we got caught out a little after dark and I wished there was more lighting along the paths. I had to use my flashlight on my phone to get us back. But considering how it supposedly closes at sunset is probably why they didnt invest too much into trail lights.

I love Halyburton Park. There is a great walking/biking/running path paved all the way around the park. Along the path, by parking, they have a fire hydrant set up so dogs can get something to drink. And there are a few dog waste stations spread out. Behind the park office, there are Nature Trails winding through the woods which are not paved. There is plenty of shade in most areas.

Its a nice, quiet park. It has nature trails and hard paved paths. There is plenty of wildlife and trees and views to enjoy a nice Evening and you can see the sunset really well through the trees. Theyve also done a great job recently clearing out the brush and debris with a recent controlled burn. Overall, awesome place and lots of nice evenings and snow days even here.

I have a 4 year old boy and 6 month old boy. We went for my 4 year old and he had fun. Little small and harder to access with a stroller but we made it work. This park has a lot to offer. They have real nice walking and jogging trails. Going through a wooded area most of it is blacktop paved. There are a few areas thats just dirt paths. There is a real nice playground for the children to play at. As well as a nice restroom to use. They do have a small covered picnic shelter and even a nice place to ride a bike as well. For photographers, there are a lot of birds, flying insects and they usually have a nice selection of flowers year-round. They even have bird feeders and bird baths for you to enjoy your time theyre looking at the wildlife. They recently installed a little small water feature, with a little waterfall which is pretty nice.

The City of Wilmington was smart enough to realize that more parks were needed. Halyburton Park has very nice paved and unpaved walking trails. It is a nice touch of nature in the middle of developments. I used to walk these woods before the park was created. The woods and ponds are just how they have always been. The park has a couple pavilions with picnic tables and a center building that is used for educational purposes. The site can also be used for weddings and parties.

Clean bathrooms as well as water fountains and a nice little information center with several creatures (caged snakes, turtles and frogs) to view. Very kid friendly. This is a great spot for skateboarding!! The outer loop isn’t quite as long as the one at Hugh MacRae, but it definitely is goose-poo-free. It wasn’t quite as busy as HMR, but it sure is beautiful. I do miss the bigger hills like the two at HMR - there is one decent hill here, but it is a bit hard to see around, so if someone is coming you just have to cross your fingers they’re not all bunched up, causing you to bail or crash and hurt someone.

This park is truly a peaceful place, you have nature trails and also places you can play with the kids , there is a place for water for your dog and plenty poop bags along the trail. There is also a same lake as long as there is enough water obviously to sustain it. Please keep in mind this is a nature park and a very good one so you do have a chance with crossing paths with a snake or other animal that might surprise you. Keep kids close and small pets nearby. Otherwise you can have weddings in a very lovely and quiet area that are breath taking
