While not a long distance or super fast, I do enjoy it for what it is!Ive taken this years ago when I lived in Capital Hill, but only in recent years (since I live in SF now) appreciated this monorail completely. My love for rails was re-ignited after my trips to Japan.

An amazing piece of history and a must do for anyone visiting Seattle. This monorail track was originally built for the World’s Fair (same as the Space Needle) and it is awesomely retro! The train only goes from the Space Needle to a downtown mall and back, but it does so in style and gets you about 1/2 way to Pikes Place if that is your destination. The mall on the one end is also a great place to recharge, use the restroom, etc. Lines can be long and trains can be very crowded during peak times, so be prepared to possibly stand or wait for the next train. It’s cheap to ride and an awesome piece of history, why wouldn’t you do it!

The Monorail is a fun ride through downtown Seattle. At $3 each way, it’s a quick and fun way to get between Westlake Station and the Space Needle. Take a ride in history.

I mean, monorails are awesome. But it only goes between two places and its a very short ride. Its fairly cheap though. Hard to judge. If you like monorails (who doesnt?) or its going from where you are to where you want to be its great.

Very rude staff. I bought the combination tickets but the woman at ticket door cart entrance said it’s only for one way. She told me I was stupid to buy the ticket, however I had no problem entered space needle, Pacific science center or Chihuly garden for two consecutive days. She said it was not her responsibility as she did not own the monorail company. Not only words but eyes expression and body language explains the bad attitude she has towards her company and customers.

Awesome and quick ride from the Westlake Mall to the Space Needle. If you can try to sit in the front seat next to the operator for the best view

To be honest, its a fairly uninspiring, very short trip monorail. It travels fairly fast through tree lined streets meaning that you see very little. Its really not very inspiring unless you have led a sheltered life

This will take you straight to the train station. From there you can walk to Pike Place Market or other shopping areas. Not only that but you can enjoy a nice view of downtown.

I think this was built in the 1960s ... almost 60 years old ... IT was ahead of its time ... worth the ride even if all you do is ride to the end and immediatly back
