Favorite beach of all time. Sandy places to play for the kids, beautiful views of the Seattle waterfront, plenty of walking and several restaurants. Always packed and crowded but well worth fighting the crowds. I recommend driving all the way to the end and there’s benches and another park after you turn to the left. On a clear day you can see Mt. Rainier and the Olympic Mountains from this vantage point, but you can’t see the city skyline anymore, so be sure to stop for that before you get to the end.

Technically a naval coast guard location and only open on weekends during the summer. Otherwise not able to get near since it is fenced off and many homes nearby. Great sunset point if you walk all of alki beach and it’s many restaurants and bars. To the south of the light house is a much more quiet beach and less people if you are looking for a quiet place.

Fun place to explore tide pools. The lighthouse isnt open year round. Lots of families comb the waterline.

I went fishing there caught nothing. Nice place to hang out with your friends or lady but not so good for fishing

A little bit hard to get to since theyve allowed people to build houses all around and they dont want you to park anywhere near their house. Best accessibility for taking pictures and viewing from a distance is the beach. Its sad that the local area would allow development all around this beautiful icon of Washington State

Beautiful beach, especially if you go during low tide to see all of the unique eco diversity. But you cannot access the lighthouse. Easy seal watching.

Sadly the lighthouse is not generally open to the public, but can be viewed from the fence if you walk around on the beach side. Its a pretty lighthouse, opened in 1913.The lighthouse grounds also serve as gardens for adjacent private residences which limits the publics access to the site.

Turnaround point on my walks, pretty much. The house does not let me actually see the lighthouse, just the grounds.

Well worth the visit: of historic and maritime significance, excellent tour, and free of charge. However, the lighthouse is open to visit most summer weekends only. (Between the hours of 1 and 4 pm.) It is NOT open year-round as Google suggests. Plan accordingly!

An active USCG aid to navigation, tours to this lighthouse are hosted by the USCG Auxiliary only during the summer months from memorial day through labor day. Inside you will find a fog signal generator and a few small artifacts from the lighthouses earlier days, along with a small bit of information about lighthouses. Its worth the visit, but dont expect to spend long here.

I visited the lighthouse last summer. Since tours are limited to July and August weekends, tours can often be crowded, but dont let that stop you from visiting. The history is rich, the view spectacular, and the staff/volunteers are very knowledgeable and welcoming. I recommend a visit!

Quick, but an efficient stop on your Seattle exploration route. Must see if youre at least a bit into naval and Coast Guard history. The exhibit is well narrated and you can linger on after the fact and see the artifacts at your own pace. Oh, and its free...

The light house was located in a big lot of the Alki Point, nice view and quiet setting. A guided tool allows climbing up the light house, and this was fun.

Note, there is no way to access the lighthouse from the beach without trespassing. All the homeowners on both sides own the tidelands and the beaches are private. Take the tour in the summer from 3201 Alki Ave SW.
