Honestly I love this bar on drinking nights. The hay is on the floor and people love to enjoy themselves. I know no country songs but I go with the flow. I have been here twice and plan on coming back

Fun country bar, enjoyable even if you dont like country music but especially if you do. Dont wear nice shoes, floor is covered in hay and you will come home with it all over you.

Great bar layout with sweet patio space and open kitchen. Beautiful wood bar, its obvious they spent time and money designing the whole joint. Good beer selection and food menu- we only had deviled eggs which are great but they have good organic and vegetarian options . Went to watch a sports game and it was perfect! The only drawback was they were playing country music??!!

Nice friendly saloon style place with great service. They boast a boot of beer, which is about 60 oz or something of beer, its huge. Its a fun country feel with straw on the floors and roasted peanuts. They offer something like a personal pizza or Tims kettle chips as far as food goes so plan on drinking only there.I liked it.

It’s a country-themed bar, not an actual country bar. Meaning, even though they have (fire-treated) hay on the floor and cowboy signs on the walls, it’s in Ballard, in Seattle, and it can get pretty packed with people who definitely spent most of their week sitting at computers in offices. If the lack of authenticity is going to annoy you all night, don’t bother. All that being said, this place is really, really fun. The space is small but it’s one of the few bars in the area where people actually stand around and talk to other people or dance. They have boots of beer and bar games and bingo and karaoke and they’ll play all your favorite pop country hits with some of the older classics mixed in. It may be a little gimmicky, but if you’re looking for a good time and don’t mind a crowd (and you like country music) this is a must visit stop in Ballard.

Country Karaoke is a blast! Good people and a decent glass of cider. Feels like home to a Seattleite who grew up Southern.

There were two female bartenders who whispered to each other when I ordered a drink. Feels fantastic having women judge you..... Then after I got my drink and was talking to people..... There was a Seattle Police Officer drinking in the bar but refused to say what Department he worked for, who was also wasted..... His apartment manager explained where he worked and what he did for a living... Would never, ever recommend........

Cheap drinks and great music - unfortunately, not a lot of room to dance. Its a fairly small bar with a lot of people, so if youre expecting to swing dance or two-step, think again. Great vibe nonetheless.

Fun country style bar. Disappointing that they dont have anything more than pizza by the slice for food options. Being a country bar there is an opportunity to have a fun menu to match the theme. Not bad for drinks but wouldve stayed here longer with a larger menu.

Went on Tuesday for BINGO night. Go they said. It will be fun they said. You will have a great time, they said. They have never been so wrong. First of all, it is a country bar. This must be true as there were bails of hay, country type things hanging on the wall, and country music playing. I suppose that is all it takes to be a country bar but it seems to have missed the mark (I think the mark was 1980 when Urban Cowboy was released). The actual bingo was vaguely fun if you enjoy having a loud man yell into a microphone that is turned up so loud that you cant hear the person next to you. The worst part of all was the fact that there was only one bartender who stayed at the bar and you had to go order from her. It would take 5-10 minutes to get your drink even though most in my party were drinking the Moscow Mules which they have on tap. Overall, Imma gonna go with a nah.

Kinda salty but awesome bartenders, always fun and something going on whether country karaoke or bingo or line dancing lessons. Not at all pretentious like it used to be, new management and staff, easy country vibe Ballard needed.. Stiff drinks, good pricing, dancing, beer boots, and country music. Neon lights and loudish but not too loud music make this one of the most comfortable and authentic bars in in Seattle, not just Ballard. When its slow during the week the conversations among guests and bar staff is inviting, and when its busy on the weekends its a great place to take friends and go dancing and cut loose. Wide open till 2AM every day and the kitchen is open with a full menu until close also. Also, peanut shells an inch deep all over.

Just moved here from Virginia and Shingletown is in the middle of turning into a saloon/country bar....being from the south I couldnt be more impressed! The new menu is FANTASTIC! Shingletown Burger deserves an award! Playlist is awesome! Bar tender Matt is great! Danny is pretty swell too! Great atmosphere to hang out, eat and drink! The draft beers they have are delicious! Good prices for Ballard. :)

Decent for a cheap drink and lively crowd... country themed bar, down to peanut shells on the floor. They have country karoke and line dancing on various nights. and its usually packed. I wouldnt start my night here, but its a great place to end. Just dont go expecting a quiet place with great cocktails.

The manager here was undeniably aggressive with my roommate and my boyfriend this past weekend. Our roommate was cut off, despite the fact he was not intoxicated, which didn’t make any sense. When my roommate calmly asked why he was cut off, the manager said, “I can kick you out for any reason I want - I could say I don’t like your shirt, I don’t need a reason to cut you off.” Ultimately, we obviously left. The manager failed to uphold his responsibility of professionalism and tact, he couldn’t hold a rational conversation. It was entirely insulting. We will not be going back.

Every country cliche packed into a Ballard bar. Drinks in mason jars, hay bales, peanut shells on the floor, smokey and the bandit on the big screen, weekly line dancing lessons and bad karaoke. This place must be for the millennials because the rest of us have already sang our drunken rendition of friends in low places. Come for the tater tots and a boot of beer-- then leave.

Good Bloody Mary mix and bad service. I asked if the brunch menu is the only one going at 2pm or I can look at other one, the waitress responded that the brunch menu is till three and left. I was hungry and could absolutely pick something from the brunch menu. But noone got back for 10 minutes. I finished the Bloody Mary and asked for the bill. They brought it to us and didnt return for another 10 minutes. I was also upset that service fee of 20% was included. I wouldnt leave a dollar of a tip here.

Market St. bar that feels like wannabe old (hip) ballard. A lot of laquered wood and black paint, shingles and Christmas lights. Somebody tried hard, but ultimately its in the unfortunate spot between cozy dive and trendy bar. Smallish food menu features 25-day wet aged burgers and modern variations on classic Americana. Service is okay.

The service is non-existent (in that they had no servers and you had to wait for 5+ mins standing at the bar to order and pick up your own drinks), they got orders wrong, the food (2 orders of chicken strips, a burger, and a salad) all came out individually 15-20 mins apart so we couldnt all eat together, and they used my husbands card for someone elses tab and let her walk out of the bar with it. Apparently their last names were only a few letters apart and they dont check first names on cards (otherwise it probably wouldve been clear that shes probably not a woman named Derik). They comped our bill, but the food was just okay at best and took so long that it was half cold by the time it got to us anyway. We came with friends and none of us will be coming back.
