Probably one of the most quiet and tranquil parts of Golden Gate Park, this is where you go to do lunch with your lady or man. The small redwoods area is amazing. The grass area is medium sized and flat and a good spot to chill. Up further leads to some small trails going uphill next to a tiny but really beautiful and quaint stream. Like I said if you want to relax and meditate, this is a good choice.

The AIDS Memorial Grove settled in the Golden Gate Park serves as a dedication to all the victims of the illness and aims to ease the pain left behind for supporters, husbands, wives, children, and best friends. With this inspirational plot of trees, flowers, rocks, memorials, meadows, and additional overwhelming scenes of natural beauty, visitors come to seek strength, share stories, and create memories that heal.

I love to look at the garden, see the flowers and shrubs. I come here with an umbrella when it rains. This is a quiet and beautiful area for a walk in solitude to think or admire the gardens, to mourn, to meditate, or for having difficult discussions away from home.

This is a beautiful part of Golden Gate Park. It can make one sad to reflect on why its named what its named, and to read the inscriptions chiseled into the various rocks that abound. On the other hand, with so many of the inscriptions saying the departed lived life to the fullest, brought joy to all, or was everyones best friend, eventually I found myself somewhat cheered up.Just thinking about the the physical surroundings, they are absolutely lovely. There is a bright, open, grassy field with dandelions in it. There is a tall grove of trees. There are paths that wind up the side of a hill. There is a rocky creek with very small waterfalls in it. There are squirrels running around. Its a wonderful place to spend 30-45 minutes.

Living with HIV has become the most critical part of My life. For the AIDS Memorial Grove to exist, allows one to reflect on the people that this disease has taken from this world. Lives lost, yet within this grove their souls remain in remembrance and for that, remains a forever memory of how precious life is.
