Great big grass area for dogs to run freely off-leash (not fenced in). There are usually a lot of playful dogs when I come (10+). Lovely view of city as well. My pictures were taken on days where the weather was chillier so not as many dogs (wind can be strong).

I was here with my hubby and my pitbull Chester couple months ago!! It was beautiful, and everyone is very friendly towards my big baby, for Chester a lot of room to play and meet new furry friends, and it’s dog friendly I couldn’t ask for me.. all of us is loving it here, I would come back just because! And I love that you can see the painted ladies from this park!

Either by day or night this is a great park to visit. The views at night are enhanced by the city lights. During the day it is a nice place to have a picnic either on the grass or on the picnic tables. Well manicured gardens, well maintained bathrooms and overall very clean and pleasant park.

For sun, the east side (where the painted ladies are) from morning till midday, great sun (on sunny day), but even better, when a sunny afternoon, 50 steps away is the west side hill. Get the fall/winter sun there.

One of San Franciscos most iconic tourist attractions. The painted ladies sit on the east side of the park with an expansive view of downtown. The quieter west side boasts an off leash dog run and a view of the fog towards ocean beach. Mid week and winter with less crowds is an ample time to.visit. Thursday to Sunday the lady falcon coffee truck provides beverages for park goers.

Classic view of the city, great spot for sitting in the grass, bring your kids to, or walk your dog. Some of the prettiest trees in the city. If we’re not in a pandemic, there’s a coffee truck by Lady Falcon Coffee Club to take care of your caffeine cravings.

Even though Ive only lived in San Francisco for a years time, some of my favorite memories have been spent on Golden Alamo Square Park abounding grassy knolls. From volleyball to kickball, frolf to tennis, and even an epic outdoor concert or two, this park yields limitless opportunities for the kinds of experiences that turn a normal day into an incredible one.

This park is right across the street from the iconic San Franciscan homes called the Painted Ladies. Its a great place to take a picture of them and relax from the hustle and bustle of the city. The park has a tennis court and a few play grounds along with some paved paths great for a quick outdoor stroll. Its just minutes from downtown by car and there is parking all around the park. The road right in front of the Painted Ladies gets very congested with all of the tourists rubber necking to see the houses.

If you want to be inspired by a fabulous contrast between the old SF houses built between 1892 and 1896 (called “painted ladies”) and the urban modern architecture of the financial district, then this place is right for you. Review №34

Of all the places you can be, Alamo Square Park could have come out a dream. It’s not necessarily cool facilities within the park or fancy playing courts. No. It’s all about the view. And I’m talking about the eastern view looking towards downtown.I don’t know who was the mastermind behind choosing the location of the park but I kind of think this visionary was like Monet because the view is super s-p-e-c-t-a-c-u-l-a-r.You’re probably thinking this is an exaggeration. It’s not. There are a row of Victorian Homes along the eastern side of the park called the Painted Ladies. Each a different color to their exterior and with little nuances in design that you notice if you’re up close and study the outsides.Looming at a distance beyond the Painted Ladies is the skyline of downtown San Francisco. Incredible! On a beautiful, sunny day you’ll find mobs of tourists sitting or walking along the grass on the eastern slope of the park taking photos, picnicing or relaxing with friends. This is a great place for a first date, second date or any date for that matter.I had my lunch here one day this last weekend and was lucky to snap up a seat on a bench and watch the crowds go by. So fun to people watch here and come across visitors from all over the world. For those that live here in the neighborhood or in the City, we’re fortunate to have this beauty spot because it’s here. And it’s an uplifting place to be.

Historic park in San Francisco with one of the most famous backdrops in the city. It can be a bit tourist heavy at times BUT this is a great place to have a picnic or take a stroll. The park has just reopened after being closed for a full year of renovations at a cost of 4.3 million dollars. Its gorgeous but it always has been. The views are stunning on all 4 sides of this hilltop. The side facing downtown has the iconic view of the Painted Ladies with the city skyline as a back drop. Love the new lawn, hope that visitors will keep to the newly paved paths as much as possible. If youre visiting, this park has little to no parking on the streets surrounding. Plan to find parking a block or so away and walk over.

Picnicked, rowed a boat, slept on a park bench, talked to a RL hippy all at this fantastic park in one of the busiest cities in the world! I highly recommend visiting this park... Wait. I mean if visiting San Francisco... its mandatory you do so! Oh, and did I mention about the resident ghost? She lives near Stow Lake (read my review there too)...

A great place to be if you dont mind being trampled by many others. In summer the foot/vehicle traffic can get quite troublesome. Best walk to the park, bus if you can, but traffic/parking in the immediate area can be quite busy. If you do drive, park away from the park, but be sure to curb your wheel accordingly, and be aware of NO/resident parking only during certain hours. You dont want to spend a day extra in SF paying a traffic ticket. Please be respectful as many nice flower/shrubs are/have been trampled by visitors - please take your trash with you - trash is everywhere in summer! grrrrr Enjoy your day just snapping pixs and not trashing the area, and leaving the park/area clean for those visiting afterwards.HINT: take a few minutes exploring the area near the park. The Painted Ladies arent the only victorians there, and many other buildings are huge, beautYful and worth your time also!
