I would not describe Clarion Alley as a tourist attraction at all. It is a space for the community to make art and send positive and influential messages through art. It warms my heart that San Francisco and the Mission District welcome graffiti and murals and see the beauty in them. I love and appreciate the meaning behind the murals and it is so pretty and enjoyable to look at as you walk through the alley

Loved strolling through this alley. I was surprised to see it so clean and not a homeless person in sight. Made for a good experience checking out the murals and other art with strong messages. Social, political, environmental etc. Conveniently located right off 14th street. So many restaurants, coffee shops, bar and retail. This neighborhood in SF is my new favorite.

If you are in The Mission Clarion Alley is well worth a visit. The alley walls are covered with ever changing graffiti style murals normally with a social issue theme. Being an alley it sometimes has some of the negative things an alley sometimes has so be prepared.

Love the fact that street art and graffiti is celebrated and promoted as a tourist attraction, a huge departure from the days when such graffiti is considered as vandalism to property. Also love the idea that the street art changes over time with artists given an opportunity to make changes to the installations.

Im a lover of street art and high expectations, but this street is ok. Not quite what I had expected. It feels a little seedy I know its hard to move homeless people on but makes it difficult to take photos etc. Some of the murals are excellent but the whole place was lacking the street art vibe.

Small alley, in a busy street in the Mission district, but dramatically alive and vivid! A place where expression thrives and liberal humanity is alive. I liked what I saw, and I believe, the work on these walls is constantly changing! Grab some tea from Samovar, and enjoy the work here!

Clarion Alley is one of two alleys in or near the Mission filled with public art (the other is on Balmy Street). Located on a large block is this alley that still is in use as an alley. That means people may come in and out of houses/buildings through the alley dodging tourists taking photos of the art. There are dozens of beautiful murals and public art displays throughout the alley. Many of them are cause-related (there are two Housing is a human right murals). Regardless, if you love art and/or photography, this is a place to go. If youre hungry, walk to nearby Tartine Bakery for some of the best food in San Francisco.

I love street art and when I saw there was an alley of it in SF I made sure this was on my list of places to see. Clarion Alley didnt disappoint with its row of of funky art walls and graffiti work. I wouldnt want to visit this alley at night alone but during the day it was cool and hip. There were people just hanging in the alley but I didnt feel unsafe. I was asked if I wanted to buy some weed a few times but I just said no and kept it moving. Im a New Yorker so this didnt faze me. lolI took my time checking out the murals and taking pictures of my favorites. Some of the murals had political and philosophical meanings. I enjoyed my stroll through the art alley.
