This is a cool little place. It’s not big at all but that doesn’t mean you should rush it. It’s not expensive so enjoy it. Lots to see and learn about. Life was different back then.

Absolutely beautifully kept building, andgarden/grounds. This is a real historical gem, I have visited here more times than the Alamo and believe it has no lesser amount of significance. Its actually a lot more pleasant of an experience to visit than the other tourist trap. The staff is very polite and helpful. I appreciate the bits of explanation throughout the rooms.

Nice place to visit. No a/c in building, but theyve set up lots of fans, so go early in the day if its summer. We spent about 45-60 minutes enjoying the rooms, exhibits and neat old furniture. Price is cheap ($5/ person with senior rates at $3) and fair for the amount of time we spent and what was being presented.

Very cool place to visit it cost $5 per person. This is a go at your own place tour. There are about 10 rooms and then the outside courtyard. This place also provides bathrooms that can be found in the courtyard. Read and learn more about Texas history.

Spanish Governors Palace. This is one of the tourist destination in the city of San Antonio. And old building build in the mid of the year 1700.If you are an architect or a historical building lovers, it a must to visit this place and amaze how beautiful this place is. This is a small museum, it was used to be a residential of the Spanish Captain and become a Governors of Texas with the story of the past glory. If you visit this place, not so much information available but it will brings you through your imagination to the of the Spanish colonial era by seeing the building, the gardens, the courtyard and the plaza of this Palace.Theres an entrance ticket to go inside the building about USD5/pax.Before you are leaving theres a small souvenir shop near the entrance gate and you can buy some souvenirs of this place and from the San Antonio.

We stumbled upon this place after a half day river walking. This Palace provides a nice display of daily living/housing style back in Colonial days. Last but not the least, I enjoy the beautiful garden at the back of the house. Very neatly arranged and managed.

Beautiful museum. I held my wedding reception here and I absolutely loved it. My family thought it was truly a hidden gem. Court yards are enclosed so kids can play safely and space for tables, chairs, catering buffet, dj, and photo booth. Thank you again to Charlotte the manager for assisting in the renting of the facility.

I love visiting old buildings and seeing period antiques. Although this house was reconstructed in the 1930s to portray late 1700s standards, part of the original was preserved and the period presentation is interesting. I was disappointed the second floor room is now closed off to the public for lack of a safety railing. When I first visited 15 years ago it contained some of the most interesting antiques.

Well preserved and beautiful. Its not hard to imagine it 200+ years ago. One of my favorite places in San Antonio. By the way, if youre wondering where the Plaza de Armas (Military Plaza) is, its basically the parking lot in front of the Palace. They built the old City Hall building right in the middle of it. Also, keep in mind that its a palace in the sense of being a palace in a Spanish Texas frontier town. Its not large, but it is beautiful.

We were there maybe 45 minutes. The place was nice, good price of history. But it was a quick kinda boring tour. It really lacks providing more information to the building. Who lived there.. more history. It was a cheap easy way to spend $8. Ended up having more fun walking around to see other nearby sights

Very cool museum, the tour of the mansion was excellent, the museum is beautiful and the mansion is in outstanding condition. Especially loved the outdoor area with gardens and terracotta walkways making the mansion feel like a hacienda. And all of it is in a beautiful quiet little area of the city near City Hall that feels enclosed and separate from the rest of its surroundings, allowing you to really transport yourself to another time.

Ive lived in San Antonio pretty much my entire life. I had wanted to visit the Spanish Governors Palace for a long time and just never made time for it. I visited as part of my World Heritage Ambassador group and got a tour with an amazing docent who knew so much information, which of course, I know they have to study. He made it interesting and fun and informative. Unfortunately I cannot remember his name. Definitely visit get a docent tour learn the history of the Spanish Governors Palace you wont regret it. I didnt take any photos as I wasnt sure if I was allowed to and forgot to ask.

One can appreciate the sacrifices made by the Spanish military to represent their country in the New World. While spartan in many respects, this place has a certain elegance about it. Those who established it refused to accept cultural defeat under the harshest of circumstances. Only the toughest people survived the experience.

The lady at the front was knowledgeable and friendly. This place is something I dont think most visitors would notice, but well worth the price of admission. They offer a military discount as well. Theres a really nice courtyard, the only downside about this place is that it isnt entirely accurate, the lady working there mentioned that it was renovated to match what the owner of the building at the time thought a Spanish Governors Palace should look like. Still worth the visit though.
