“Blow Your Own Friendship Globe” class was a perfect experience. Four of us attended and another couple made it a full class of six people. It was informative yet fast-paced. They had a perfect mix of music playing in the background, so the atmosphere was upbeat and fun. Though only one person can actually perform the work at one time, it does not, in any way, take away from the experience. I went last out of the six people and it was just as entertaining watching each person create their glass globes each time. And you’re rooting for each person. You get to spin the blow rod, manipulate the molten glass, add the color, and blow your globe. The two Artists/Instructors are very enthusiastic about their trade and you could tell they love helping others experience glass blowing. During the commencement of class, they passed on the knowledge and process of blowing the globes perfectly. Fast-paced and entertaining. Bottom line, it’s a great experience, especially for the price. Best part is, you walk away with a one of a kind piece of artwork from the experience that YOU made and blew yourself. 10 out of 10!!

What an incredible find! Glen and Ruth are amazingly personable and are incredible artists. We were lucky to happen across this shop while driving in the area. We stopped in to see the open gallery and found out they were hosting their 3rd Annual

Ruth and Glenn are both very friendly, patient and helpful. The class itself was lots of fun! Technique is explained well and while it is not 100% hands on (some parts you need more experience), Glenn allows you to be very involved in the product. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for something new. Great couples date too.

We took the friendship globe making class and it was amazing. Glen and Ruth were so knowledgeable and encouraged questions, we were walked though the entire process and then got to do it ourselves (with help of course). The whole process is fascinating and the experience is unlike anything we’ve done before. What a fun environment and unique experience, before we even left we knew we wanted to come back and do more!!

We went during the holidays and signed up ahead of time online for the ornament glass blowing. Our daughters are 8 and 10 and were able to participate with 80% of what the adults get to do so it is worthwhile and memorable for them. We now have beautiful souvenirs that will go on our tree each year. The staff are very pleasant and supportive and seem to be very passionate about their craft. Thanks!

My husband and I made the bowl for our anniversary and I have to say, one of the best things we’ve done together! The staff (Greg and Ruth) was phenomenal and made the experience all about us and encouraged us to do as much as we were comfortable. Everything was explained to us thoroughly and even gave us the chemistry behind it! Seriously cannot recommend this enough for anyone. Will definitely be coming back for another experience!

Glen, the artist, and Ruth, the wonderful assistant, are simply amazing people! My husband and I came out to the studio to celebrate our one year anniversary. They were excited to celebrate with us and help us create an awesome piece of glass art, that would bring back memories of our anniversary! If we are ever back in San Antonio, we will definitely be going back to visit and create more glass art with them!

We had a wonderful experience. I recommend that you consider any of the classes. There were 4 people in our class. Very personal and lots of hands on knowledge and expertise shared during the class. Instructor was high energy and gave me a real can do vibe. At first I wasnt even sure that I could do it. My piece of art can out beautiful. Can not wait to pick it up.

Caliente HG hosted our annual team building event. It was a great experience. The session was amazing, the people at CHG are equally as amazing. My team loved seeing their artists at work. The love for what they do shows in everything they produce. Overall it was a great experience. I highly recommend seeing these folks in action!

My boyfriend and I planned a trip to San Antonio and decided to book a class at Caliente Hot glass online. It was so easy to make an appointment, and there was a wonderful description of what we would be doing.Glenn and Ruth were absolutely amazing. They were so welcoming, and outright two of the nicest people we have ever met.The class is so unique. If you’re hesitant to book, just do it, you’ll get your money’s worth in the experience alone!We will be booking the advanced class next time we go to San Antonio!

Very cool place, I recommend that you go watch their workshops. Its free, take the kids, family, etc.Just get there earlier to grab a sit, bring water as well.

I went to Caliente Hot Glass this Valentine’s Day with my wife and it turned out to be tremendously exciting! The professional glass blower explained everything so articulately and explained the science to how the glass worked and moved as you heated and sculpted it. Everyone there was so friendly and you just knew that they loved what they were doing and enjoyed, so much, teaching others how to blow glass. We made some Christmas globes and they turned out to be something very beautiful. The step by step actions we did take to make these globes were very interesting and supper fun! We are definitely going back and planning on taking many more classes for date night. This is something everyone should try, at least once! You will be hooked! I mean that! Thanks guys for such a wonderful time! 10 Stars … Off the Charts!!!

I shared this experience with my college age sons and was completely captivated by the process. It is a transcendent, philosophical, and therapeutic experience that stretches the bounds of your limitations and creativity. I absolutely recommend Caliente Hot Glass for the making of a beautiful piece of art, but more so, for the making of a wonderful shared experience to treasure!

I did a tandem class with my 14 year old daughter. We both had an absolutely amazing time. I could babble on for many many about what an amazing artist and beautiful spirit Glen is but instead Ill just encourage you to get yourself there and enjoy! Ill be coming back to San Antonio just to take another class in the near future.

We had an awesome experience at Caliente Hot Glass with Glenn and Ruth. They were very professional, great to work with, and it was a lot of fun. It was our first time blowing glass, and Glenn really increased our interests in glass blowing. It is a really beautiful process, and the end result is rewarding (making your own piece). My wife and I had a great time creating our pieces with Glen and Ruth. We came in on a Sunday afternoon, and we put at ease, clearly communicated with, and just had a blast! Glen took the time to explain things to us, challenge us, and find our place making my globe and my wife’s bowl. I highly recommend this for couples, families, friends, whoever. What a cool experience! We took our sons (who are usually only into sports) and the LOVED it! It was hands on, and informative and surprisingly entertaining for the whole family. When I booked a private glass blowing class at Caliente I was looking for something different to do for the first time with my husband and celebrate our wedding anniversary.The experience was above my highest expectations. It was really interesting, surprising and fun to learn about this art and create a piece together.The part that I loved the most is that our piece resembles our relationship. Both the piece and our love had gone through the same steps: Since the beginning we choose the form, the colors and how we want it to be. It was scary at some times, and intriguing at others. We pass it trough heat, it melt and then it got stronger. We did some things over and over thinking that nothing was really changing when actually it was getting better and better. The result is beautiful and fragile, but we know that if we take care of it it will last forever, just like our love.Thank you Glen for this wonderful experience, well be back with our kids and friends!

I hate writing bad reviews, especially in the midst of all these 5 star reviews. The 1 star has nothing to do with the actual experience, obviously its an awesome experience. The negative rating is due to Caliente Hot Glass cancelling 1 hour before the class started. I bought one of their packages as a surprise gift for my wifes birthday. And after driving from Houston to San Antonio, they called to cancel an hour before the class started. One of their glass blowers got sick. It sucked b/c the call to cancel revealed the surprise gift, in which i had to tell my wife her surprise gift was cancelled, b/c she overheard the convo in the car. They offered my money back, but that was it. Again this negative review has nothing to do with the actual glass blowing experience.

Amazing! My wife and I have collected blown glass for years and my wife wanted to learn how to make it. We scheduled an artist experience and requested more information via their website. I received a call the very next morning from Ruth who answered my questions and finalized our appointment. We arrived at the studio where we met Ruth and Glen. They explained the different kinds of art glass pieces that were in the studio and allowed us to pick our design and colors. Next, we got right to it. My wife went first to make her glass piece. Ruth and Glen explained every step and the process was very hands on. Some steps were best left to the professionals but for the most part, they let us control the outcome of our pieces. I cant explain how amazing it is too see a piece of art come together like it does with glass. Ruth and Glen were excellent teachers and you could see the true passion they have for glass art. A truly great experience!

If you think you cant do it, you have to go and prove yourself wrong. And you WILL! These guys are so comfortable and excellent teachers. My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday and OMG. This is going to be difficult to top! Glen and Ruth are so passionate and eloquently explain every single element of the experience. We each made a glass sphere and I cannot wait to pick them up in a couple days to see how they turn out - leaving them behind was really hard. Totally worth the price! Were definitely going to return!

I stopped by on a whim while driving by to get something in the area. SO very glad I did that. After talking with Ruth and Glen for a bit, I got my wife and my sons girlfriend a coupon for the beginners class. They LOVED the class. Both of them went on, and on, and on about how great it was and how lovely the time was. They agreed that is wasnt easy, but that was only after tons of remarks about how fun, great, unique, etc. the experience had been for them. They both made bases for hookahs, and they are out of this world nice. Nobody can believe that they made them on attempt #1.If you are looking for something to expand your horizons, you should at least visit this shop and have a chat. I would recommend this for couples looking for something to bond over as well.

My husband and I signed up for a lesson at Caliente Hot Glass for our anniversary. Ive had a lesson in the past but my husband had never done it before; regardless we were both very excited. The experience with Glen and Ruth was amazing. It was fun from beginning to end. It was laid back but we learned a lot about the history and process of glass blowing. We got to try anything we felt comfortable with. Glen and Ruths enthusiasm for glass blowing was contagious. I havent had that much fun in a long time. I cant wait do it again. I highly recommend their studio. They are so talented and fun!

I wanted to surprise my girlfriend with the Art Experience and she was very surprised! Ruth and Glen made the experience the best. We had not blown glass previously, but with their guidance we created 2 beautiful rondelle (wall platters) art pieces. They listened to our preferences on color and design and taught us the steps and language of glass blowing. We cant wait to go back and make more!!

(About an hour per piece)The friendly staff was willing to answer all questions and guide each of us to ensure we have a great time.
