This place is alive with art, community and support. My wife was at the Millworks for 2 years, this is the place she branched out for herself and had a studio and office. The community was incredibly supportive and an overall joy to be around. Everything she learned from the Hausmans lives on well today and is part of her story. Love this place!

I had the pleasure of having a studio at The Mill in 2014 for a year. I loved the community and energy of this place. Rex, Gene and Renee were so kind and supportive during the entire duration of, really, what felt like an awesome artist residency. There were always opportunities present and great people to connect with. I had great opportunities that led to commissions, art shows and I even sold some paintings! If you want to get connected with an art community, getting a studio here will literally be the best decision for you!

I was lucky enough to occupy the studio next to Rex (Co-Owner and Chief Artist in Residence) for close to 3 years before moving away from San Antonio. Rex is a fountain of energy and optimism and insights on life and art. And he sets the tone for the community at the Millworks which is, like him, friendly, open and generous. I came to the Millworks looking for a space to be creative; I found instead a creative space. So much the better for me.

This is a great place to work and network with other artiats. Ive been here for 3 years and I would not be the artist that I am without the Millworks family.

My first visit to San Antonio was in 2010 when I participated in a group exhibition at the Hausmann Millworks.Then in 2011, I returned for a solo exhibition. Both of these events helped kick my career into high gear. Over the next 7 years, I got to know the Hausmann’s and many of their artists as they came to New York.Upon my return to visit the Hausmann Millworks while I was part of an exhibition over the weekend (10.17.2019).I was amazed at the massive growth both in the size of the seemingly never-ending spaces as well as the high quality of the artists working there. If only there was a Millworks in NYC...yes I’m jealous!

I had the pleasure of having a studio at The Mill for some time. The community and artists working there are dedicated and treat one another like One true family. The Hausmann family are staples in the Art community and made me feel at home in my space and among the other artists.There are special things happening at The Mill so pay attention.

Hausmann Millworks is such an exciting place to rent an art studio. I love the ambience and the people here. There is always something exciting going on here and EVERYONE supports one other. The vibe here is for everyone, no matter your age. I love my studio and cant imagine workin on art anywhere else!!

Millworks has produced some incredible talent from these studios. Rex and Co should be proud and the artists are such a vital part of SA creative landscape.

I was a Hausmann Millworks artist for over 3 years and during that time, I was part of an amazing community of creative individuals who all shared the same passion and love for art that I had. During my time at the Mill I completed my Masters of Fine Arts Degree from Savannah College of Art and Design and my life as an artist has continued to flourish.During a rough point in my life each Millworks artist showed support in their own way in the form of a hug, sharing a cup of coffee, or just a smile. The Mill is truly a community. My heart was full every time I was in my studio creating and I strongly believe that I have grown where I was planted and the fruits are so sweet. I will carry the memories in my heart forever.

Dozens of studio spaces for painters, jewelry makers, fabric artists, photographers, metal workers, carpenters, and artisans of many disciplines. I have enjoyed a great studio space here for over 6 years now. Great sense of community, while allowing for individual creative energy to be expressed.

A very very amazing environment to grow in!I rented here personally for a year had such an awesome time! The Haussmens not only shelter your creative spaces but also entertain and give you ideas/advice to better further your career and goals. Don’t be afraid to give this place a shot!

This is my 2nd year at the Millworks and I plan on never leaving. The Millworks support and take care of all of the artists. The talent that the people have and share is what makes the Millworks so incredible.

I was a member of this community for 2 and a half years and I can truly say this is a special place! The Hausmann family has worked hard to cultivate an environment for artists and creatives to make connections and grow. The studios are well kept and they are always expanding! I love going back for all their events and always leave feeling inspired!

I will be leaving the Millworks at the end of this month, and I have to admit my heart is sad. I will miss the community the Hausmanns have fostered. I will miss the meetings, the shows, and the daily shenanigans and support of the other artists. Everyone at the Mill is so uplifting, and really going places in their careers, whether they are budding or established. It inspires you to constantly be creating and growing as an artist. Since being at the Mill I have met and sold art to major art collectors, had a private tour of Blue Star, studio visits with gallery representatives, and shown work in many different galleries and businesses in town. Rex Hausmann has even gone out of his way to make it possible for the artists at the Mill to have a show in New York! When you get a studio at the Mill, you dont just get a studio, you get encouragement, support, and opportunity. I highly recommend the Millworks for any artist, but especially for artists who are looking for a community and an opportunity to connect with other artists as well as local collectors, art aficianados, gallery owners, and more.

I had a studio space here for over 4 years, and I had an amazing experience. It’s full of creatives across all spectrums and mediums, which makes for a very diverse community! It was very common and easy for many of us to collaborate and bounce ideas off of one another when desired, however it was also the perfect environment to work quietly in solitude in your personal studio space.The Hausmann’s always made me feel like family, and even though I will no longer have a studio space there, I know it’s a place where I’ll always feel welcome.
