We have done multiple escape rooms, and we had really high hopes for this room. We loved the atmosphere and the idea behind the puzzles ....but it seemed like there was alot of technical difficulties. We spent 20 minutes on a clue that we got correct the first time, but the door to the next room wouldnt open for us. We kept asking the room coach for a clue or some help, and she would just ignore us and not respond or she would give us the same clue over and over again....which was a hint to the clue we already solved. This pattern seemed to keep happening over and over again throughout the hour. Our group definitely left not satisfied. I think with a better room coach we could have had a better experience. Hopefully they can improve this for future patrons. I feel like there is a lot of potential for this place.

I took my boyfriend there to try out the escape room and we loved it! Every one was super helpful and the mgr Nita gave us great service. There are no cell phones allowed in the escape room but there are lockers provided free of charge. We even decided to try out the axe throwing too and had a blast! We will be back for sure!

Went there on a Saturday with my lady friend to do the zombie room. The production value is great! A live zombie and the host is inside the room with you! Really appreciated the actors throughout! They did a great job and even though we didn’t make it out, it was a ton of fun!

This was an intense experience with great quality performance! It was a twist to your normal escape room. We did the Zombie room. Having a Zombie trying to get you every time made the game much more nerve wracking! The actors never got out of character even though I melted to the ground (literally) when the zombie came at me! We had a blast and definitely recommend! We didn’t make it out, but the clues along the way were very helpful tomar least get super close to. Can’t wait to come again!

I went to a different axe throwing place before this once and they simply gave us some instructions and let us do what we wanted. I was initially against the idea of having to play games, but we ended up having far more fun than we thought we would. I even brought more people back the next week. Attached is a bonus pic of something my buddy did. I wouldnt have believed it possible had I not seen it with my own eyes.

Great room escape is an awesome place for both escape room and axe throwing experience! I did the countdown room and zombie room and both were challenging but fun and during covid they made great accommodations and I didn’t feel like we were in a pandemic at all. They definitely care about everyone’s safety and try to make you feel like the experience is as normal as possible. The management and employees are really friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a good time.

Things were broken? Or didnt work properly..it was fun in the beginning when things worked..idk just takes the fun out of the experience when the person just opens the clues for you because they are broken. Oh well I guess..

We went as a double date and this place does not disappoint!! We were set up with Megan and she is a blast!! Loved her energy and enthusiasm throughout the night.For those who have reservations about throwing a sharp object and the fears that come with it... after Megan walks you through the throwing process, you will be more at ease. Plus she will coach you on throwing, release points and follow through a through you session.Its not just throwing an axe at a board, you play games and it brings out the super competitive side in your group. Which adds more fun to the whole experience.This place is BYOB, no hard liquors. Bring in your snacks and some cold ones... a few friends and you are guaranteed to have good time!!!We will definitely do this again!!

Had the most amazing time here!I surprised my husband for his birthday...and had a better time than we could have ever expected.Being paired with other people made our experience more enjoyable! The staff was awesome! The atmosphere was fantastic!I can’t say enough great things about this place. We will definitely be back soon!

A friend and I went to San Antonio Axe Throwing. I did better than I thought I would. There were a lot of people in the same time slot. We were put into a team of 8 other people. The time went too fast. The instructors were very helpful. We learned to play 3 different axe throwing games. I cant wait to go again!

It was my husband and my first time trying axe throwing - we had a blast! Our axepert Megan was friendly, laid-back, and made the whole experience really fun. She did a great job explaining the proper technique and giving pointers when we werent quite hitting the target. Nice atmosphere and fun games to practice your axe throwing skills.Highly recommend!

My family and I were visiting from out of town and got one night to get away. We had a party of six and booked the Zombie Escape Room. My wife and I have done several escape rooms and this one was BY FAR the best one weve been to. The Zombie theme was intense and Xavier and Jose were absolutely amazing. Both played their characters extremely well! Next time we are back in San Antonio we will be back for sure! Thanks to the staff for an amazing experience. Five star recommendation!

Came her for my daughters 14th birthday. We bought tickets on Groupon, and reserved our time slot and signed the waiver online.Girls at the counter we’re sweet and helpful.We chose The Countdown room. (Saving the world from a nuclear attack.)It was a great experience! We saved the world, with three minutes to spare!!Great family quality time! Great for birthdays, team outings or whatever!

SO MUCH FUN!!! We had a board retreat and ended it with the axe throwing team building experience. After a long day, it was definitely good to blow off some steam and this was the perfect activity. Staff is super nice, friendly and fun. It was just an overall good time and more than what we expected.

My daughter wanted to do this for her husbands birthday. To be honest, I was less than enthused, but upon going in, meeting our teacher/team leader and throwing the ax, I loved it!! Our team was great and supportive. Our team leader was funny and helpful. I definitely recommend!!

We had a great time at the Great Room Escape. Jose was our host, and was truly fantastic. Marco killed me several times (nicely, of course). He was one dedicated Zombie! We were so close, but didnt fully escape. We will be back to escape! Would definitely do it again.

Did the Zombie Escape Room with a group of friends this past Friday. Production value was awesome, the actors were amazing (shout out to Renee and I cannot remember the name of the girl who played Alice the Zombie, but she totally brought it) andthe puzzles were challenging but not so much that we didnt enjoy it. I am not a fan of horror and I do not like being scared - I went for a friends birthday, zombie wouldve been my last choice. That said, they made it fun, I had a blast, I would totally do it again and highly recommend it to everyone, whether you are a horror fan or not. It was a great night and well worth the money. Very much recommend that you check it out!!!

Our Zombie experience was phenomenal! Rene and Alice were great. They kept things fun and memorable. Its such an adrenaline rush to have a zombie breathing down your neck, as you work together to solve puzzles. Highly recommend and we all look forward to our next escape. A+

I took my boyfriend axe throwing for the first time. We had Huge Axeman as our instructor and he AWESOME!! He was funny, informative and made the experience totally enjoyable. I would go back and I will definitely ask for Huge Axeman. Book here. Guaranteed to be a good time!!!!

We took the whole family for the Class Axe Throwing and it was a blast! Axe-perts were informative & helpful! None of us had done axe throwing before but it didnt take long to get the hang of it, I recommend it! Great family activity (older kids)

Jose and Xavier (Butler and Zombie) were AMAZING!!! They made the room so much fun and never broke character! They were so impressive. The rooms themselves were super difficult was had a lot of fun and different ideas than any other escape rooms. I would 10/10 be back and suggest it to anyone!

My friends and I did an escape room and 90 minutes of axe throwing. This was my second escape room ever, and I thought it was very challenging, but fun. We would receive hints and clues when we got stuck, but had to pay a price like walking like an Egyptian or running around like chickens with our heads cut off. This was my first time axe throwing, and its like darts, but with a hatchet. I loved that we could bring our own snacks and its BYOB! Two great group activities in one spot!

I have been to a few escape rooms in Tulsa and Oklahoma City but Zombie room was so far and above better than anything Ive done its not even in the same stratosphere. The Zombie room actors and overall staff were great! Jose and Xavier made the entire experience perfect.The Zombie room requires running so you should be capable of moving quick and wear appropriate shoes.I cant say enough good things! A complete adrenaline rush for 60 minutes.

Fun experience. Thought it would be 1.5 hours of throwing an axe but the games made it really fun and competitive. Would definitely come back again with a bigger party.

They let you bring snacks & Beer and wine.Amber and Lucky were the staff that evening and they both took the time to assist with open throw/practice on form.I would definitely have another celebration here!

I took my husband here for his birthday the other day. Hughe Axeman kept the whole crowd laughing and entertained. It’s one of the most unique, fun ways to spend a night I’ve ever seen ( and very therapeutic to be chucking an axe.) Have already recommended this to several friends.

Our group had a wonderful time at Class Axe San Antonio. We had two great instructors in Christian and Blaine who were very knowledgeable and made it easy to learn to throw the axes. Once we were done practicing, they had some fun team and individual games for us to compete against one another!

Always a fun time when we go to Class Axe. All the employees are friendly and know how to get everyone to have a great time. Good way to relieve stress and work out without feeling like a chore. Highly recommend!

I booked for a Saturday night and Megan was our lumber attendant. She was full of energy and amazing with teaching the right techniques on throwing an axe. I had so much fun, but you have to work in teams [including some strangers]. Even if you do not know your teammates in the beginning, you will by the end of your session. We were given silly names like Back That Axe Up or Tomahawk on a name tag. We played three or four games, but there can only be one winner stamped the Lumber Lord. This is a BYOB (beer or wine only) and BYOF (snacks/finger food) establishment. I would definitely recommend Class Axe Throwing.

You have to share lanes with strangers, and are practically forced into social interaction with them. You are made to play games and don’t get a whole 90 minutes of throwing. The games were fine and luckily the people we shared the lane with were decent, but at $75 for two people, you expect a full 90 minutes of throwing axes. The whole time we were there the guy running our lane made awkward and sexual comments. I felt uncomfortable on more than one occasion. The axe throwing itself is fun, but again limited. I wouldn’t go back.

Games were great and fun- would recommend more time and making the event a full 2hrs especially since we did pay for a party of 12. And need a better system- Not the most organized when it comes to signing waivers and collecting payments. Customer service wasn’t much help either when we were charged more then the average cost, requested a refund and pretty much said they couldn’t help us.

Meghan was awesome! Loved the games and energy she gave off.. Her dad jokes where on point! Lol definitely will be bringing my work staff for team building.

We did the Zombie room. It was an awesome way to spend an hour. We will have lots of memories. I think it is too scary for young kids. Maybe try another kind of escape room. BUT this was sooo worth it

My boyfriend and I went for my birthday and it was a lot more fun than I was expecting it to be. You get to throw the axe a few times on your own for practice and then you split up into 2 teams with the other people in your section and compete in challenges. It’s BYOB or they have drinks to buy there. Just to be clear, they just moved to a new facility that DOES have AC & a bunch of fans inside so it’s very cool in there. Overall definitely would recommend it and hope to go back with a group next time!

We did the lass Axe Throwing and it was AMAZING !! I would recommend this to anyone. We actually went as a couple and got lucky that another couple signed up for the same time as us. If I could recommendation, if you have another couple or friends to go with, it will make it more interesting.

We came here for a bachelorette party and it was a blast. It was the first time for everyone and I think everyone really enjoyed it. I appreciated that we had some time to get practicing in and then it transitioned to teams and some competition so we werent spending 90 minutes just throwing the ax. In the end, everyone managed to get their ax to stick at one point or another. It was a great experience.

I took my daughter and two of her friends here on her 16th birthday for the Cabin experience and they had an absolute blast! The people there were very helpful and involved. The atmosphere is fun and interactive. We definitely plan to go back and do other themes.

Axe_Rabbit was an amazing teacher on axe throwing. Its block away from the Alamodome and St Pauls square. My wife and I went on off hour on a Sunday afternoon with one other couple. They were able to fit us in an earlier appointment which was great customer service and convenience. We got a full 1 hour and a half of fun, games and all out axe throwing good time. Yes they did have ac and fans as well as drinks and shirts for sale. If you go on a off peak time you will get your moneys worth on time and fun. Thanks so much to Axe_Rabbit and we will definitely be back there.

I never finished the completion for my on line reservation I hit the back button to adjust my request. But I was still charged twice. I called 3 time and left a message each time with no call back. I even emailed with no reply the email they give via email comes back.The worst part is I got an e-mail from this company to see how my time was. That we didn’t even go to.Be careful with the site and when you book we do have plans to go this Saturday and will let you know how it goes.

Bruce was very friendly and knowledgeable. They have old school games like Hungry Hungry Hippo for you to play while you wait for the axe throwing to start. Its very easy to follow the instructions and once you start throwing they come back around to help you do your best. They have drinks available for purchase or you could bring your own. They also offered t-shirts for sale. This is great with a group or alone. My Partner and I will definitely come back.

The room itself was pretty good. Nice details and the puzzles were fun and challenging.The biggest issue was that this was all set up in a warehouse and there was no AC. Middle of June in Texas means sweltering heat. On top of that the ONE fan pointed into the room didnt even work. We received a message prior in the day informing of location and parking etc. It would have been simple enough to mention this so we could either 1. reschedule or 2. dress appropriately and brought extra clothing. We planned on having dinner afterwards so a majority of us were dressed accordingly. Not talking clothes you couldnt tackle an escape room in, but nice enough for going out to eat.Eventually some of the people in our group started to get light-headed and by the end the puzzles and the room were just getting agitating as the heat, with zero air flow, was getting to everyone. We left drenched in sweat and in a sour mood that we would have to try and have a nice dinner feeling disgusting. I get the setting was an Egyptian tomb...but the ambiance was a little too much to make it completely enjoyable.

Did the Zombie room with 2 others, beat it with 30secs to go. It was a lot of fun, it never felt claustrophobic, and the actors were amazing! It is very very difficult but well worth it.

I booked the Anubis escape room as a team outing for me and some coworkers. We had a really great time. The puzzles were challenging enough that we actually needed a few hints here and there, but they weren’t too challenging cause we won!! It honestly would have been 5 stars if there were air conditioning in the building. This is Texas guys...A/C in the summer is really non-negotiable.

I took my 12 year old son and we had a blast! The staff really stayed in character and made the experience that much better! We didn’t get the last key but had a great time trying - my son is ready to try our next room!

Kind of a delayed review here but 3 of us went there this past spring. It was one of the first escape rooms using the Anubis theme and it was awesome. It was well put together and the challenges in the room were rational enough that you could figure them out with some patience, but not so difficult that they were impossible to figure out with the help of the all seeing eye (the person that must be watching on camera). Would totally do it again. Would be a great team building experience for groups of 3-5 people.

We pick axe throwing for our date night Wednesday and we were not disappointed!!!! Boss axe beech was our instructor and she made it so much fun!!! We had a great time learning how to throw the axes and playing games against other people. We give this place a 10 out of 10 and recommend this place and our instructor to anyone considering going!!!

We went on a date night. It was a lot of fun! We did the axe throwing classes. Highly recommend it. The only thing is there is no a/c (which is on the website) so dress appropriately and wear close toe shoes. There are fans. Its BYOB and snacks. Our instructor was Bruce and he did great and engaged everyone. We did some free throwing for practice then Bruce set us up with some games to play against other teams. Definitely would do it again with hopefully a larger group. The 90 min was just the right amount of time.

I reserved two ranges for axe throwing for my husbands surprise birthday party. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone. We were running a little late due to heavy traffic downtown, but Meagan was understanding and helped move us along when we got there. Meagan was so nice and funny. I would request her if you can. It was a little hot, but that’s expected. So we made sure to bring enough cold beer with us. We will definitely be going back.

This is my 2nd escape room with this company and it was amazing! We did the zombie room and it was a lot of fun! Just as a warning, the zombie is moving in there somewhat chasing you, so keep that in mind! Luckily it was just my group in the room (5). Any more and the room would have been way too small. I know they allow up to 10, so that is why I have a 4 star because that room is too small for that many people. We had a butler there as well giving us so many hints (it’s not just random things that she is saying), so she was great! There was only 1 really hard part this, but the others we felt were extremely reasonable. We escaped with 2 and a half minutes to spare!

Amazing time, our instructor was great. Definitely coming back to do it again!!

This place is truly big fun. 90 minutes will fly by. Axe throwing takes practice. Once you get the feel of it down then you will hit the target every time. The instructors are all awesome!!!!

Had a great time for a first time experience we did the zombie escape room. We have never laughed so hard and had so much fun seeing my wife tell the zombie to behave as she wagged her finger at her.

The axe throwing just moved to the new building, so they were building the escape rooms. But for axe throwing, we had an absolute blast. The experts were engaged with all of the customers, and kept things entertaining, even though throwing axes primal style is entertainment enough. Id definitely go again.

We had a party of seven people ranging in ages from 40 to 70. After some practice sessions led by our great and enthusiastic hosts, the competitive games began. It was a blast. Two days later my wife is talking about how much fun it was. Axe throwing is awesome.

I went on a monday evening and did the missle countdown. The facility is decent but staff is less than helpful. Nobody but my group was in the facility and the staff member was slow to give clues. Ive done many escape rooms in the past and wouldnt recommend this location, save your money and go elsewhere. This place clearly is never fully booked for a reason, however theres another escape room business in town that always is.

I was in San Antonio for a few days and it ended up being the rainiest and coldest days of the year. Since I had planned to walk around the river walk a ton with my wife and couldnt due to the weather, we went to the axe throwing and 3/4 escape rooms. All the people were fun and friendly, the axe throwing was fantastically fun for both of us and the escape rooms were well designed and really fun. The best escape room experience Ive ever had, would 100% recommend! Cabin was our favorite but they were all really great :)

Just successfully escaped from the Zombie Escape Room! Despite some hiccups in the past trying to get a room reserved, the outcome was definitely well worth it! Alex was helpful with the reservation and our Host Jivs (Jose) and our Zombie Compadre Phineas (Dennis) were really fun and entertaining! Would gladly recommend this Escape Room to anyone interested in trying this place out!

I would give a perfect score but two things happened that took away from the experience.Overall, the puzzles and host were amazing! Our host was able to make the experience fully enjoyable, from beginning to end. We participated in the Anubis escape room & I have to say that once we were in the main room of the game/puzzle, the difficulty & cleverness of the puzzles was astounding.That being said, it was hard to get into the spirit with the other events in the main room. It was hard to focus on the story line with other people interrupting. Since we were taken to the hall way for our briefing, other event goers constant walking around our group really took away from the fun. A minor issue, but still hard to ignore.The second thing was out of the venues control. After we escaped the room, we stood outside the venue in the parking lot going over the fun evening. I watched as a van was leaving only to realize it seemed like it would reverse into my car. I began heading over to them to try and stop it but Instead, it hit our friends car. We approached the van & as they saw us approaching, they quickly sped off & sped through traffic to avoid us following them. I dont know who they were, they could have been random people that just happened to park there.Again, I do not fault the venue for this. I do plan on returning, since they offer a number of fun things. I just hope that when I do return, the circumstances are different & I can fully enjoy another room without the interruptions.

2019 bachelorette party! Who says you cant take the edge off by throwing an ax? Byob and snacks will have your evening covered with friends or family. Its best played with even amount of people if possible. Our Ax Wife aka trainer, was pretty awesome at teaching us how to play games competing against each other. No one got hurt nor lost a finger but keep all eyes open! We are planning on returning really soon with a larger group of friends. Dont forget to bring cash and tip your ax wife!

We had a rather mixed experience. First issue, our place was in a warehouse with no ac on a day when it was over 95 degrees. Second, as our host was trying to “set the scene” all we could hear was the throwing of axes which was literally 5 feet away from us (Not related to our escape room). Now the experience once in the 15x20 foot box that was our escape room was very challenging and fun. I was impressed with that at least. It’s just for the price we paid we expected a more professional atmosphere. I would not use this particular company again but the concept was pretty cool and we will do again.
