My son and I love this place. We’ve been to many birthday parties here. I decided to purchase the year membership and it was the best decision I made. Well worth the price especially during the winter. The facility is clean and well kept. The staff are all well professional and accommodating. My son loves every aspect of this place.

Plenty to do for all ages! Very hands-on from climbing to building, creating and just playing. There are quiet areas for more sensitive children. There is a real helicopter the kids can sit in and you cant miss the giant beehive! They offer birthday parties, and validate your parking garage ticket for just $1.

This is a very fun museum for kids. I wouldn’t say it’s that fun for adults, but I had quite a bit of fun here. The admission tickets are dirt cheap, and this place is HUGE! They have so many activities and different things for kids to do it amazes me that the tickets are so cheap. This museum is a must if your in the area looking for stuff to do with your kids. Five stars for Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum in Salt Lake City Utah.

The place hadn’t changed much over the years. If your kids are over the age of 4-5 this place isn’t going to entertain them or at least for long. We brought our 6 y/o and she found about 30-45 minutes of fun. They charge $12.50 a person which seems a little pricey for the amount of time you actually spend inside the museum. The good thing about the price is the museum never stays that busy. Overall not a bad place for younger children, but once you’ve been here you’re probably not likely to return.

Such a fun place to bring your little ones to. 2 stories of things to see, do, touch, create, explore, learn. Plus an outdoor area with little helicopter. There is water play, mini market, magnets, Legos, foam blocks, climbing areas, ping pong, slide and so much more. Its well worth the admission price. We spent 2 hours there and kids wanted to stay longer. We will be visiting again.

This place is so cool they have a little bit of something for every age group from about 1 and 1/2 and up. They have a water area that my son loved and a grocery store and Minnie construction zone area that you could learn how to do things like a grown up. I highly recommend. We were invited there for a party they did a wonderful job with the theme and having everything set up and taken down for them.

Covid-19 has made what is left of this place hard to enjoy. Half of the exhibits are shut down and the the other half is on life support by staff that seems miserable and strange policy surrounding social distance, but they are fine with charging the full price.Save yourself the headache and visit the Clarke Planetarium across the street for free.

Really really fun time at Discovery Gateway museum!! The helicopter and steam station areas were closed when we went, and they were tearing down the zoo to make way for the bank. But I loved it here! My kids were thoroughly engaged. My daughter especially loved the play kitchen and putting the dolls to bed in their cribs. My son loved the construction site. They have a neat toddler area for kids under 3. They have a super cute Harmons grocery store area and I especially loved their beehive playground and the small exhibit like wall of actual bees. That was really cool. They have plenty to do for the kids to last all day long. Smaller and more manageable than Thanksgiving point. The price is fair and they offer membership pricing.

After being to many children’s museums, this one falls very short. It has water, air movement, large block, and toddler features but it doesn’t have wall to wall things to do. The neat bee climb was fun but short lived. As parents of a 6 year old we found ourselves sitting, waiting, and watching rather than being interested to interact ourselves. I have seen many more museums of St. Louis and Indianapolis that we’re much better and entertaining. I would only go back to take younger children for a few hours.

Kids are fully entertained at this place. The imagination can go wild fixing a car, constructing with blocks, buying groceries or harvesting veggies on a farm. We were glad it didn’t close at 5pm likeI thought so we had a little more time upstairs to play. The pinewood derby area was a hit with my boys and they actually were quite interested in the medical area and helicopter outside. There was also a free play area that balance beam and tires. You should plan on at least 2 hours here. Downstairs it would be nice if there was a little more seating for parents to sit while kids play. We used our community exploration card for free admission, on my own I wouldn’t come frequently but I would return to visit once in awhile.

Wish prices weren’t quite as steep as they are but it is a ton of fun to bring family and friends if they have never been. I make sure that this is at least a yearly stop off. We really liked it, particularly our 2 and a half year old son. There are just so many things to do for kids of all ages. The dramatic play areas are well designed. Coming from LA didnt think that its going to be so big and diverse. Plenty of variety without being huge and exhausting. We went with a field trip and there was still ample materials for activities for all the kids and never felt too overwhelming. My kids loved the water feature in the town area and my favorite part of the water feature was that it didnt soak them like the water play at the Curiosity Museum at Thanksgiving Point. My three year old spent 20 minutes there without getting his clothes wet. Employees, several times within the two hours we were there, went around and cleaned up activities and returned them to their right place which really makes it more fun for the next kid. Great job. I would get a membership if we didnt live 1 hour away.

We have been several times since we have the pass. The main areas for improvement would be maybe a small cafe for a meal since the area is limited on this. Also, maybe something that would be better for adult and children to play together. I know that the exhibits are meant for adult to do with the children but as an adult I dont want to take away from another childs experience in order to be able to take part with my child. With those two things being added I would make the trip of one hour more often and maintain my pass once it is due to expire.

There are many wonderful aspects of the museum that our toddler loves- I am so glad it is here for him to experience the bee hive balls, water table and blocks to tumble in however each of the times we have been here there have been massive disappointments. Though parents are required to supervise their kids- they don’t and there are not staff members equipped to handle absentee parents. Older kids are out of control here. They tout it being for parents and children to interact but I don’t see much of that happening and when I am playing with my child older kids have pushed me out of the way or taken what I was using multiple times. The last straw was going to their noon year’s eve event. What a joke! “Make a dazzling mask” (color an animal face printout). “Make a noisemaker” (a bag of old macaroni decorated with marker and elmers glue that ripped in 5 minutes). “Dance party” (nobody dancing, kids running around a room- pure mayhem) “countdown” (10 seconds and done. Nothing else). We left SO disappointed and wished we had gone to the free event at the Library. I will continue to take my son here early in the day to avoid crowds but we will unfortunately not be renewing our membership. Great place to go once and NOT for an “event”.

Still a fine place for the younger ones, just need to keep an eye on them by the thirty foot stair case. They also have a lot of basic science lessons etc.put up on the walls that go with the different stations and activities so if you are willing to go the extra mile with your kids and teach them (read things off the wall) its a good interactive experience for the parent as well. Me personally I just let the kids run crazy...

We went today and it was just a little too much social distancing, stay safe areas. I had a lady following me pretty much the whole time I was there to make sure that I was watching my kids. I was kicked out of all the areas that I went to go play in and was told that I need to wait or go play in a different area even though every area I went to was full. Im all for staying safe but if you cant let kids wander and have fun then either dont be opened or limit more how many people you let into the museum at a time.

This is a fantastic childrens museum/ activity center with a variety of entertaining centers. Some of our favorites are the play inside a real helicopter, the water table, the play house/town, and the bee hive jungle gym with a real beehive to watch in the works. They have an outside picnic area so you can bring a lunch or snack and lots of other educational corners. We were there for 4 hours and my kids (aged 3-11, plus a baby) still didnt feel like they got to do everything completely. The reason it gets 4 stars is because of the cost. It is $12.50 for anyone attending 1 and up. It is obviously a childrens museum geared for little ones, but adults pay the same price just to attend. It would be more plausible that adults are half the price since they are more supervisors than participants.
