Beautiful hiking area. Pretty wildflowers, the sound of the creek going by is super calming, and absolutely gorgeous views just before sunset. There are multiple trails cutting across and through the main loop, so I recommend referencing some sort of map if you want to do the full hike around or don’t feel confident in finding your way back.

Nice trail, but not for kiddos. The trail needs better signs. I got a little lost and had to ask other hikers were to go.

Beautiful challenging trail for all types of activities, from mountain biking to hiking with amazing views of Peavine Mountain, the Truckee River, and the Sierra foothills. Steep switchbacks and technical rocky terrain make for a great workout.

The trail was nice, but needs to have signs or a map so people understand where to go in the forks on the path.

So a confusing hike. Many different trails some are straight up, some switch backs. Didnt find the trail to the flume but still had a nice 2 mile hike. No shade so it is a better hike when its cool.

The hike is only steep in the beginning and levels off after a half mile or so. Lots of people walk their dogs along the trail. The majority of the trail parallels the steamboat ditch and so is fairly flat making for a easy walk. Great views of Reno and desert landscape.

One of the best trails for any casual hikers. I recommend downloading the trails app so you don’t get lost. It’s 4 miles and took us 2 hours. Most of the elevation climb is in the beginning and then it’s a nice walk after that.

As with most of the hiking areas around Reno, the trails are rocky and made of clay. Absolutely dont go on these trails when theyre wet, and be careful on the steep parts when theyre dry. That said its a beautiful area right near the river.

One of the cleaner trails in Reno, meaning not a ton of dog excrement and trash. Steep up to the ditch trail and then flat most of the way. Not very rocky. Not much water was coming out of the Hole in the Wall when we went - but big huge pipes were next to the hole, possibly to shore it up. Very little shade - hot in summer. Early spring is good if the ground is dry.
