Really liked the hike from the parking lot up to the falls which is like two and a half miles and then continued up to the summit of Mount Rose the highest mountain in the area. Beautiful views back into I think six legs. Lake Tahoe. Donner Lake. Stampede reservoir. Boca and another one I forgot the name :-) going from a fairly decent trail through the woods and then once you get past the waterfall you head up fairly steeply tell you arrive at the peak with views from above the tree line :-)

One of the best hikes Ive done in a while! A great variety of views and terrain. It wasnt exceeding strenuous which is good because it is at around 9000 ft. We were able to cover a lot of ground and feel like we got a good workout in.

Only gave it 4 stars because the falls themselves arent that spectacular, but it is a great little hike. Rather easy with very little elevation change on a well maintained and popular trail. Perfect for a day hike with the kids or a quick run with (or without) the dog. Lots of mature pines to provide shade in the summer once you cross over the ridge to the Reno side, and at any rate, its up at an elevation to get out of the valley heat. And the views of Tahoe at the beginning of the hike are beautiful, as all views of Tahoe are.

This is the perfect beginners hike. The steepest part is the beginning of the trail. The 2.5 miles to the waterfall has big views of Lake Tahoe and fantastic views of the Reno area too. The trail is thin in spots and wide in others, rocky in some spots and flat dirt in others. Great sun on much of the trail, but also enough shade throughout to keep it from getting too hot (at least at this time of year).I strongly recommend this hike.

Force of the water is high between June to August when the snow melts completely. Beautiful view during summer and winter seasons.

It is a long, non-technical hike to get there, but it is pretty to see, particularly when it has partially iced over. Go early in the day, though, if you want to avoid crowds.

We went just as the falls were freezing over, it was very nice. I will have to go in the spring when I can see more of the vegetation and water. I suppose the fall would be nice too. Great day hike

July 14th and still snow on several sections of the trail. Nothing major, just careful footing. The most water I have seen at these falls, and snow packed all around the falls.

I love coming here! Have came here for the past 6 years with my family and friends. This waterfall is really cool with a towering 60 foot drop! Come here during the summer due to heavy snow in the winters! Hope you get a chance to come up to this beauty
