Looks like a popular place to put your tubes in the river for a first downstream. Not a lot of parking.

As parks go, its not much of one, with parking for maybe a dozen cars and access to only a trail along the river. In summer the trail accesses what we call the Dorostkar chutes on the Truckee river, which is an old destroyed dam that now has only the original concrete support blocks in the river. In summer a large eddy, or poo,l forms on river right just upstream that is safe for swimming.

My husband took me to a little valley with a stream/creek. He called it Hunters Creek. We didnt go to far in but what I saw of it was great. Many little dirt trails. There are some small places to get by the creek and eat a sack lunch. We went on a cloudy day in May and it was perfect but Id imagine on a hot day youd want to bring plenty of water. Dogs are aloud here, ON LEASH. Love that its only 10 minutes from my house!

Small little hidden gem in Reno. This small park has much to enjoy. A few tree covered trails, foot bridges that go over streams, and plenty of things to see along the way. Also an odd picnic bench at the end of a lonely paved foot path. Its a beginner hikers paradise. Theres nothing difficult about this place and for that matter theres nothing dangerous provided you stay on the path. Also a great place for senior citizens to walk if they have issues going long distances. On a scale of 1-10 on being a technical area to walk or hike through its an easy 1. Go check it out! Oh and you probably can walk all the trails in about an hour or two if you take your sweet time.

No shade. Most of the flowers are done. Still, I like a looped trail. Easily followed.

Neat little park right on the Truckee River. Good place to launch river rafts, inner-tubes, kayaks, swim, whatever. Cool little trails to hike also. Check this park out.

Far enough out of the way to forget about town, close enough that your ice stays frozen on your way here. This park offers picnic benches, plenty of shade trees, bbq stands, cleared areas for tent camping and car parking, and easy access to Truckee River for those who love to fish or just get their feet wet. Dog-friendly location away from main roads and vehicle traffic. Good place to come to relax, read a book, or have a birthday party.
