Very nice park. Not too big but not too small. Has nice shady areas in the trees but more open areas as well. Saw many deer which was cool. Not too crowded which is also a plus. Plenty of parking when i went as well

I hiked through the Sylvan trail with my wife and 5 year old kid. The lady at Park information desk was very helpful and suggested Sylvan trail as we were interested in wild flowers. We started in the afternoon, but didnt feel the heat, as the weather was pleasant and the whole route was covered in shades. It was nice to see a wide variety of wildflowers in their natural habitat. After a hike of 1 mile we were presented with breathtaking view of lush green Meadows, and big patches of wild flowers. My kid also enjoyed his first hike. We would like to come here again.

Im giving this park 2 stars because of the no dogs at all regulation. I used to horseback, ride and hike all over these trails when young WITH my dog. There are plenty of trails here. Couldnt they have one for dogs on leash?

This is a very nice hiking area off of 280 on Edgewood rd. We visited during spring. There were lot of wild flower blooms along the hiking trail. We also saw several deer on our trail. It is a huge area, with several trail options. A great place for hiking and enjoying nature.

Beautiful park, not that crowded. Saw wildflowers in April. We went at around 2pm on a Sunday. We went up Sylvan trail, on to the ridge, that was full of wildflowers and came down Edgewater trail. It took us about an hour and 45 minutes. The trail gains about 500 ft in under a mile, thats the only strenuous part. There are Parking lots but parking was tight and people were parked on the side of the road too.Dogs are not permitted.

A fantastic local hiking park and open space. The trails are all really well maintained and are good for kids. Trails are both open and shaded, and you get views of 280 and the Santa Cruz hills to the west, and Mountain View to the San Mateo bridge to the east. Parking just off Edgewood Road is convenient. The deer were out today on Live Oak trail - see pictures.

Best in spring when the hills are green and there are wildflowers. The rest of the year is very yellow, very exposed at the top half of the hike and lots of highway 280 car noise. So be aware. But its so close to home that Im a regular.

Hiked here several times, including last weekend with a group. Saw several deer, as usual. It was a beautiful day, mostly overcast. Instead of entering through the main entrance to the park, we entered from Edgewood and Canada, where the park backs up to Filoli, across the street and there is quite a bit of parking. Nice views of the Bay and surrounding cities, at various junctures. The poison oak was just starting to sprout, so not really a problem but Ive seen when it is, a little later in the season.

Lovely little county park with lots of trails, but also lots of poison oak so be wary of your surroundings. There isnt a ton of parking, but it seems to suffice for the amount of visitors this place gets (at least on weekdays, I havent been here on a weekend). There are wild turkeys running around right now which is kind of fun to see.

Edgewood Park has great views of the valley with trails suitable for beginners hiking a few miles, to trail runners looking for tough terrain.Though it looks small, there are lots of routes that meet up in a web-like, sprawling map. We hiked 4 miles without even realizing!

Various ways to access this park. I use Edgewood road between 280 and Canada. Fantastic trails for walking or running. Knolls, hills, views, groves of trees and more. You can go for miles and miles. Fantastic little escape. Awesome place to take in the beauty and tranquility of nature. There has been mountain lions spotted in the past so avoid being on the trails too late. Ive enjoyed the hikes at least a hundred times without an issue. You will be happy you tried this wonderful excursion m!

Edgewood Park is a fairly small hike and picnic area close to both Redwood City and San Carlos. While you dont get fully secluded from the buzz of civilization you can get a decent couple hours of nature without driving too far from those two cities. You can bring kids and expect them to enjoy it too.
