Their team was so helpful throughout the process of selecting which instrument met our needs and determining what would create the best experience for our guests. Their delivery team was extremely responsive and prompt - which helped keep our fast-paced timeline on schedule. Our pianist loved playing on such a beautiful instrument and our guests raved about how perfect the evening was. The piano also served as the perfect backdrop for photos throughout the night!

After 25 yrs trying to decide whether to convert my Steinway grand or obtain a Yamaha Disklavier...I wanted to hear my piano, not just have a nice piece of furniture...Chris Ruggero made the decision quite simple, and I am thrilled to have a new Disklavier, with connection to my TV and sound system guided by Zack Rowes excellent technical advice. Although I struggled to part with my 1911 (rebuilt Steinway), the new Yamaha plays and sounds perfect...AND, I can now sit back and listen and enjoy the experience. Hyun Joo did an incredible job tuning my piano. I have hearing aids and he was so patient with me and my bad ears. Ruggero Piano completed a full restring and rebuild on our 45 year old our Yamaha G-5 66. After giving them our piano for 2 months we received the piano with a $40K Yamaha grand piano sound. Before the work the piano was dull and lifeless and now it sounds crisp and deep and you can really feel and enjoy the sound. The Ruggero team was great with communicating with us and keeping us updated and delivered faster than we expected. I would certainly recommend them again.

After some initial research online, I realized Ruggero had an impressive collection of digital pianos in stock, so I popped over to check them out. I tried out a handful, and was delighted to find the one I wanted was actually $100 cheaper than Amazon. I bought it on the spot. Its great to support local business who throw in a bunch stuff and services, are not pushy at all, not to mention extremely knowledgeable. I bought the cheapest model and was in and out in 30 minutes.

I have known Richard Ruggero, who had done some work on my old piano, not only as a superb technician, but also as one of the nicest and most honest people in the business. As my old piano is ageing out, I have recently been looking for pre-owned Steinways, hoping to find my dream piano. Alas the good ones are still out my price range, but I had recently heard about Estonia pianos, and contacted Richard Ruggero to see if he had one I could try. Indeed he did! He even placed it in a back room in the configuration I would have it in my living room, next to another piano. I really liked the Estonia, but liked the other piano even better, which turned out to be a Schimmel! Who knew? What I love about Richard and everyone in his shop is that they gave me (and the friends I brought along) ample time to play all the instruments we wanted to, with absolutely NO pressure! They were there to answer any of our questions, but otherwise left us alone to play. Knowing how much I loved the (brand new!) Schimmel C 189, and also my budget, Richard was able to make me a wonderful offer, and I could not be happier with the piano! Delivery went smoothly, I’ve been playing it for a week now, and it seems to just get better and better! I am so grateful, knowing that I will have Richard and his staff to take care of my piano for as long as it lives here with me!

(Id had the privilege of a superb technician in NYC who worked with exacting musicians such as composer/pianist Michael Harrison.) Fortunately, I met Richard Ruggero, who practices tuning/regulating as the art that it truly is. There are few craftsmen like him who have the ear to tune a piano for beauty, not just accuracy--something no electric tuning device can accomplish. Richard goes miles beyond what is strictly required; he was sharp enough to pick up a buzzy string in the base that previous tuners had been content to let pass. Moreover, hes a genuinely kind, warm-hearted person, and his colleagues at Ruggero Piano have been delightful to interact with. I own a picture framing business and appreciate the difference knowledge, experience and craftsmanship can make. This is what you will find at Ruggero. They have an impressive workshop where they restore pianos, and they know these instruments intimately. I had a question about the Steinway action versus the Schimmel and they were able to take me in the back and show me the differences with examples of pianos they were working on. I dealt with 3 different family and staff members over time and all were enthusiastic, patient and informative about the merits of different models, makers, sizes, etc...I came back several times to try various pianos and found a new grand piano that was right for me. I couldnt be happier. Steinway is not the only name in quality pianos--play everything you can get your hands on and decide for yourself. They were expert guides that made the experience a pleasure.

A number of months before I was actually ready to purchase, I visited Ruggero on the recommendation of a friend. Despite the fact I was up front about the fact that I wasnt yet ready to buy and might not be ready to buy for several months to a year, the staff member on duty spent a large amount of time with me--helping me figure out what instrument might suit my needs. The store then kept me in the loop by eMail when instruments that might fit my needs arrived in stock. A number of months later (about a month ago) I returned to the store and made a purchase of a brand new Yamaha P22. I was offered an excellent deal, and have been enjoying the instrument tremendously.Even after the purchase, I have contacted Ruggero a couple of times--once for a recommendation on a piano instructor and another for a recommendation on a repair service for another type of instrument. Both times they have been responsive in providing quality advice.I will most definitely utilize Ruggeros services in the future for all of my piano-related needs.

I will try to add something unique to the excellent reviews already posted. My wife arranged for someone from Ruggero Piano to come to our house and evaluate a spinet she had inherited a number of years ago from her mother, who had had it for decades. Jay made a free house-call and spent over an hour with us. He was very patient and thorough. We already had an idea from another independent source that the the prognosis was not good. Jay confirmed that the instrument had reached the end of its useful life. (Spinet pianos are not being built anymore, and consoles are the closest to them in size.)The next week we scheduled an appointment to visit the store to learn about the many options. Chris and Jay spent a lot of time with us and answered many questions. There was a refurbished Baldwin console, which was very handsome and very reasonably priced, and would have served us well. However, I spied a grand fitted with a player system. I was mesmerized as it played a Gershwin jazz piece. My wife plays and wants to practice to improve. Unfortunately, I never made it very far with piano lessons.The bottom line is that we now have a beautiful Knabe five-foot grand with a QRS player system. We enjoy having it play classical, jazz, show tunes, ... every day during dinner, when we have guests, and when were just relaxing. Its an incredible home entertainment system and beautiful to look at, as well as an instrument that Caroline can enjoy playing. We are delighted with it and the quality service that Ruggero continues to provide. Richard and all the staff are a pleasure to deal with. (David is also going to help us convert the shell of the family spinet into a desk for Caroline.) What more can I say?!

I recently found my way to Ruggero Piano in Raleigh, North Carolina, in order to purchase a Clavinova for my church choir room. It was my first visit to their shop which was very convenient and easy to get to from I-540. I was warmly greeted, and found everyone there to be welcoming, very friendly, knowledgable and professional. Making my purchase was very easy, and there was a seemingly complete selection from which to choose. Their delivery/installation team was prompt, polite and professional.As a Juilliard-trained pianist, I was also quite interested in their stock of real pianos, and Mr. Ruggero was kind enough to give me a tour of their facility which includes several showrooms, a workshop, and Bösendorfer Hall, a room containing a large concert piano available to area pianists, teachers and students for recitals and recording. Ruggero PIano impressed me as far more than just a place to buy a piano; it struck me as a company and people dedicated to the art of the piano. This is a top-notch piano store and I highly recommend a visit to anyone looking to buy a piano. Indeed, it would be well worth a long drive.I visited this summer, and ended up spending three hours at the store trying out grand pianos. Chris and Richard were very kind about explaining everything to me, and also allowing me to try out their pianos at leisure.They have a lot of brands that are comparatively little known in the US, and well worth trying. I got to try Schimmels for the first time -- really fantastic pianos. (My favorite of them, at least on the day I visited, was a Wilhelm Schimmel, which is less expensive than a standard Schimmel -- unfortunately that particular piano had been already sold to another customer and not yet delivered!) I also tried a Bosendorfer 185CS. Oh *wow*... to this day, this remains my favorite piano that I have ever tried. (Above Steinway, Bluthner, Fazioli, Steingraeber, etc. etc.) In the end, I resisted the temptation to double my budget.... but it is less expensive than many of its competitors.Their pricing on new pianos, based on comparison to information I found on the Internet, is good across the board and in some cases extremely good.Pianos are very individual, even within the same brand and model, and the piano I fell in love with (and that was within my budget) ended up being one I found elsewhere. But I would have been delighted to do business with Ruggero if it had been one Id found there; this store offers great pianos sold at competitive prices by wonderful people.

On the 4th Friday in September I took my election-weary self to Ruggeros for a luxurious two hours of arias, Broadway tunes, Chopin channeled by a physicist from Duke, and a Beethoven sonata performed by a duo on a Yamaha and a Schimmel. I left rejuvenated by music, sated by hors doeuvres, and stimulated by discussions with a welcoming and eclectic mix of other music lovers. All for free. Ruggeros generosity to the community is its own lovely melody.
