A great Saturday afternoon hike through the woods and beaches of Kelly Point. The Willamette River flows into the Columbia River at this pointand you find a number of beaches to enjoy the sun.A paved trail around the point will take through native black cottonwood trees with a number of beach access points. The beach is great place to watch river traffic with great views toward Washington state and Sauvie Island. The park was crowded with hikers and families enjoying the beach. The bathrooms were open and you find a number of places to have a picnic.A nice place to spend the day on the beach or on trail. The park is located in the Rivergate Industrial area of Portland along a road that turns off Marine Drive.

Wear some mosquito repellent when walking through the wooded area to the beach. But once on the sand, great beach to relax. Lots of people with their dogs always having fun. Would love to go exploring more in this huge park. Just get there early enough for parking on a busy summer weekend.

Great spot for a beach walk. You can also see large river and seagoing vessels fairly close up. You see where the Willamette and Columbia join, Sauvie Island, small craft, river clams and evidence of beach combing

First time here, it was great! Lots of space, parking may take a bit but youll definitely want to spend some time here. You can sit on the beach and watch the barges come in, sequester yourself at one of the many bench/BBQ/fire pit areas or a little of both!GET OUT BEFORE SUNSET; there be the mosquito. They come in hordes.So.. much... blood.

Large riverfront park with sandy beaches, bathrooms and picnic tables. Off leash dogs and swimming are technically prohibited, but I have seen both many times

Theres good parking at this pretty large park. a lot of trail to be walked & a lot of beach too. yummy blackberries all over, little daisies in the grass. you can hang out in the sun, do some tanning while watching your brats play or chill out in the shade with your dog (who is allowed in the park, leash rule applies). the parks location seems a bit weird since you are in an industrial area but that wont matter once you get out to play!

Post Covid- Really sweet spot where the Willamette and Columbia rivers meet. There wonderful picnic spots and not alot of people. There are some nice fire spots right on the beach where you can watch the huge freight ships turn to dock in Portland.

Its not very clean beaches there. But I did see one of our most beautiful birds there in fact a few of them. So that alone makes it worth it. I will also add that they keep a pretty clean bathroom.

KPP is just a great, local place to hang out and enjoy the sun. Bring your human or your four legged friends. All are welcome here.... except tigers (we have to draw the line somewhere).

2 stars because the beach is nice.. But everything before it is overrun. Trash everywhere, trails not maintained, just not a good park overall. Tons of other places nearby that are waaaay better.

Besides the large mosquitoes which are known to be a problem & will attack you relentlessly when walking towards the beach, great park. Still amazing so many mosquitoes there. On the sand, they die down. Great parking. I prefer this park.

Review №20

A unique spot because it marks the confluence of the Columbia and Willamette rivers. The sign explaining history of the Confluence is fading and needs replacement. A simple sign ibdicating the Confluence would also help. The bike/!walking trails need to be repaved because of tree roots making the surface jarringly uneven at times.

We to Kelly park be because it was nearby and it was close to sunset. Didnt have much expectations but it was very beautiful and my family and I had a great time walking around the forest and beach. Ended up spending a few hours enjoying the sand on the beach and the beautiful view. Definitely recommend going and checking it out.

Nice little getaway from the industrial segments and play with dogs. There is a bathroom and a picnic table, but not much else for amenity. Mostly flat ground and be prepared to walk in the wet sand. Some noise pollution with low airplanes passing through, but otherwise nice reprieve from the city scape

Went there for a walk for about an hour. The hiking path is about a mile, but theres two paths. You can go to the beach path or the forest path. I saw rabbits, people walking their dogs, fishermen, and the annoying parent who ignored all the no swimmings signs and let their kids swim in the beach area. I also saw a slice of chocolate cake which tells me that a wedding reception was probably held there the night before.Very nice place!

Great escape from the summer heat. Plenty of shade or sun, with beach on either side of the point. Restrooms available. The signs say no swimming but youll find plenty of people in the water, some in rafts and floaties. Just be careful - conditions can change quickly! Lots of picnic tables and open fields for lawn games in the middle of the park.

We always love any chance we are able to visit this gem of a park. Had I not have gone there as a kid, I probably would have never known it was there. Its tucked away in the North industrial area so at first it may seem out of place. But once you go and visit for yourself, youll wonder why you didnt find out about it sooner. Beautiful grounds, trails and bike paths and a very diverse array of wild life. Love, love, love Kelley Point Park!
