I had a fantastic time at USS Improvise: The Next Generation: The Musical. As a huge Star Trek nerd, I found it hilarious and really capitalizing on true fans knowledge of subtle inside jokes. Im so glad to have discovered this and will definitely return if theyre playing again when Im in Portland next!

The style of the place is cool, kinda a circus theme and loved the clown room...for that alone I give it 2 stars and not 1. Staff at the time were not nice and very slow with service. And the place dont got much space so dont plan on having a bachelor party of 7 start there like I did. We filled the whole bar and felt unwanted by others and staff. Also very little to choose from when it came to drinks. For a place called the fun lounge it wasent very fun.

Fun atmosphere. ok bar food. I loved the clown room so creepy. The shows they play had me laughing for days afterwords. Its a theaterhouse meets the circus a giggle for most teens, adults, and the cultured child keep inmind most of the shows are 21+ read the website before going in. Dinner theaters a great and a dying breed. have some cash on you to tip the performers at the end if you think they earned an extra buck.

More like snack items really. Pizza slices, mac and cheese. The staff is friendly and the drinks are good.

Super cool, classy yet laid back cocktail bar in the heart of Portland, OR Financial District. Great mix of craft cocktails and live swing music this place has a little bit of everything. It was very crowded and the drinks were on the expensive side but it was definitely worth the visit. I especially loved the live swing/big band-style band playing on the main stage.Be prepared that there is definitely that after work drink vibe, lots of suits so dress nicely.

Went here for Valentines Day weekend show complete with cabaret, drag, comedians and giveaways. They also have a free nacho bar. I paid for 2 VIP tickets which was supposed to include free glass of champagne/wine, raffle tickets and free murch. We got nothing. Only the people sitting right in front of the stage got the goods. If I had of known it was that unorganized I would of saved the extra money and got general admission tickets. The show was good and the host was funny but it didnt start on time and the waiting area was small and crammed. I would probably go back since I know what to expect now.

My first time there at it was great. Reasonably priced show. Drinks and food were better priced than at a movie theater (the cheese pizza was good!). I sat in the “tall seats” and would do so again, the only seats better in my opinion are front row or the booths in the back (if you go with friends). I have some hearing difficulties and I could hear just fine. I would highly recommend this venue!

Maybe I went on a bad night because my experience was nothing like the other reviewers. I overall vibe of the place is great, but it was very disorganized and the staff seemed disgruntled. We waited at the bar for a bartender for over 15 minutes just to order a drink (there was literally no one working the bar with a line out the door), when some staff members did show up they snapped at me and other customers, and I ordered some Mac and cheese that took 45 minutes. And on top of it all the comedy show started nearly an hour late. I definitely won’t go back. Rated 2 stars instead of 1 because the decor and layout were good.

Staff needs to up their friendliness. Came in on a whim but had been meaning to check this place out for a while. We were made to feel unwelcome from the second we opened the door. By two different employees. I guess we were too early for the show which started at 7pm but the website says they open at 5pm so we thought we could just hang and get drinks for a bit. We were treated as a huge inconvenience and thats enough for us to not come back. Wish it was a better human experience because we were definitely in the mood for drinks and a good time. Total buzz kill...

The Gateway Show was a riot! Comedians do a set, spend the intermission getting stoned, then come back to try another set. The show was packed, and we laughed pretty hard at both halves of the show. The food at the venue was reasonably priced ($3-$4 for a slice of pizza, $5 for chips and queso), and they had a decent selection of booze. We had trouble getting in to begin with, however. The audience for the show prior to the one for which we arrived was trying to exit as the new patrons were arriving, resulting in packed, grumpy chaos. The whole smoking area in front of the venue reeked like marijuana from the time we arrived to the time we left, so I was surprised at the tense attitudes. But the staff, the show, the decor in the venue...all on point. Would love to take in another show here sometime.

Went to a big party here last night. Its kind of cramped and has very limited restroom capacity. The decor is warm and inviting, but the stage is kind of a nuisance. It is too easy to trip over the part that juts out in the middle since it is the same color as the floor. Took a pretty embarrassing tumble because of that. Also, the ceiling over the stage isnt quit high enough for certain types of performances. Its nice and clean here though, which seems to be a challenge for a lot of Portland bars and clubs. The staff was excellent and smiley. It would probably be more fun under less crowded conditions.

This place is home for many performers. Ive been in the crowd for various shows and have been on stage for countless shows. I think the clown room is scary and freaks me out and I love it. I like the multiple bathrooms. I wish at times there were more bartenders but the drinks are very good. Space is usually good but the shows get packed really frequently. I went for a comedy night which was refreshing but I thought the tickets were a little too expensive for the show but I didn’t regret going.

We came in at the tail end of comedy open mic and then stayed for karaoke.
