There are many talented people in the Portland area at any given time, and the comedians Mainers can see 4+ days of the week at Empire Comedy Club right now are among the most exciting currently emerging performance art opportunities you do not want to miss. A constantly growing roster of nationally touring professionals have taken the stage and delighted audiences at Empire, including Todd Barry, Joe List, Sean Patton, Mike Cannon, and Jessica Michele Singleton. Then there are the intrepid open-mic devotees and local showcase legends who really sustain the comedy community in Portland, connecting the scene both to the city’s residents and to a regionally humming comedy market among tourists in town on holiday.Whether you come to see a touring sell-out show, a packed late-night local showcase, or you perform your first five minutes at an open mic, you will be surrounded by laughter and immediately be hooked on the comedy scene this city has to offer.

Was a decent venue. Full bar. Adequate bathrooms. Small venue with decent sound. Nice look and feel of the place. Re-entry is allowed.

Intimate setting where the comedians can interact with the crowd and drinks arent overpriced. My wife had a mixed drink and I had a beer $10 for the two, not too shabby.

Excellent performance space with lots of room and great sound, whether youre on stage or in the crowd. Good PA, and Evan, the sound guy, was super professional. Tasty drinks and a decent selection of beer to boot!

Great setup and what seemed to be a good range of alcoholic drinks. My main complaint is that I bought tickets for a show and the ticket said, doors at 9, show at 945. I then saw on their website, doors at 8, show at 9. I tried to get in contact with the venue so I wouldnt miss anything but on the day of the show, they posted to their Facebook page, doors at 9, show at 945. We showed up at 940 and missed the entire opener. Upon further investigation, they posted to their Facebook page, not long before the show started, that doors were at 830 instead. So I guess if youre going to this venue and dont want to miss anything, you have to obsessively refresh their Facebook page. Ok.

Fantastic venue. Small but great audio. Only bad part is there are 30 steep steps to get in and it is not handicap accessible. No elevator.

Great space with great events (Comedy, DJs, Bands). Beer was a bit pricey and the bar service is less than desirable at times.
