This was so neat. You get to walk around and see all the musk ox. There such a mystical creature. So it was a delight to see them up close and personal. This is a non profit and you can even adopt a musk ox. How cool is that?!If your near stop by and learn about these bad boys and girls. Too cool!

Mark was an amazing guide, incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The facility it self is well kept and has the animals best interests in mind 24/7. From bottle feeding to rut safety I was very impressed and would most certainly visit again!

They have some beautifully made (crazy expensive but worth every penny) qiviut items-- plan on spending at least $180, qiviut yarn, and a wonderful tour option of the property. I do not have any pictures with me of the back, but it is very scenic. Its a popular local place for school children as well as tourists. The staff is very friendly and they have great jobs and they are willing to tell you that!

Quite good intro about the history of domesticating Musk Ox, but you dont really spent much time with the Musk Ox; instead, you hear the guy talking and bragging about how good the farm is and try to sell you some overpriced Musk Ox products.20 dollar fee for the tour is a bit overpriced. If you have sth better to do, do that instead of coming to this farm.If you want to see a Musk Ox up close, go to the zoo, the Ox just had a baby~

Very nice tour with our very friendly guide. She was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information on these pituresk ancient creators. We were able to see a lot of the Ox. Some of them had fun with the carton boxes with some goodies in it, this is a way to animate the incredible lazy (or should I evolutionary say - energy saving) animals. The breeding oxes were in their red season and the guide told us that they are very mad with world at the moment. Hormones . Learned definitely a lot on this tour and we enjoyed a lot. Thank you (Im sorry I cant remember the name of our guide) for doing what you are doing and for the tour. Silvan and Fränzi from Switzerland.

This was an amazing experience! I would recommend it to anyone visiting Alaska who truly wants to learn about these beautiful animals. Our guide was not just a guide but someone who is truly dedicated. One caveat : there are just a few rules in place for your and the oxs protection. If you are not willing to stay in the group and would rather go off alone and take a selfie, dont take this tour.

We had a great time at the farm. There is an educational portion to begin with indoors, then the outdoor section where you get to see and sort of interact with the musk ox. They are adorable and so interesting! There is a free guide that provides a lot of information and is very personable. We got to touch a baby musk ox, handle some of the soft yarn, and even feed one of the juvenile musk ox! FYI - Dress in clothes for being outdoors as it may be chilly or muddy (it is a farm, after all). There is a gift shop, but it can be pricey since the yarn is a bit rare. Definitely go, its a great opportunity to see this unique and prehistoric animal!

We came to Alaska to visit our son & his wife in Palmer. Erin Anders has volunteered at the farm so she signed us all up as runners or volunteers for the annual Running with the Bulls in August. It truly was the highlight of our trip to Alaska. What a beautiful setting for these hairy, prehistoric looking animals! We had a delightful day and also had a once in a lifetime experience. Would definitely plan another trip up in August to do it next year! Try it!

This is an incredible facility. The animals are well cared for, and the guides are knowledgeable and personable. I called the education director about bringing my class to the farm, and she was willing to create a specific program for whatever we were studying at the time. The Musk Ox Farm is truly unique and definitely a must-see if you are looking for a knitters paradise and/or fun learning experience.

Fiber artists take note ... do not pass this gem up! We had a wonderful visit and tour at Musk Ox Farm. It was the first left after the Hatchers Pass turn off, and very easy to find. We really admired their animal husbandry practices. The musk oxen were wonderful to see and our tour guide was fun! The items in the gift shop were a delight as well. For long wear, warmth, and comfort Quivit cannot be beaten. I cannot wear wool, and love wearing Quivit. So soft and warm. This is a must see stop for all knitters, and fiber artists of all kinds.
