4/19/2019 Friday Night .Look I want you guys to really take this in because I dont normally leave reviews & this is based on what I witnessed & viewed.Ive heard so much about this place but I wanted to build my own opinion on the loud gallery, I was extremely excited to be there. Which is why I was a little disappointed with how the night ended. The slam I attended was a joke, not on the contestants part but on the judges part. With the way the show started, the judges were like Im looking for how you pronounce your words, the moment you begin your piece you are being timed. Your rhyme scheme, if you mess up, your poster, your confidence, eye contact. Just little things like that. Neither one of them followed through with what they were looking for at all. There was one judge who was the worst amongst them. I feel like he didnt go by his word at all and he was the biggest critic sitting up there. When being a judge I feel like absolutely no favoritism should take part of your judgement. You need to take your time when evaluating each piece. Take your ground with that individual. Look for a storytelling moment. If they dont meet the requirements then that means they need to do better. No one deserves anything in life and of you feel like as a judge they deserve it then youre doing your job wrong, everything is earned. The atmosphere was great but not because of the host because of the audience, they looked nice, smelled nice everyone had big smiles & were very welcoming. By the time we were on the 3rd contestant the host was already drunk from her rum punch which was ok it was a little funny, Im assuming it was her first time so she could have been nervous.Im sure I wasnt the only one shocked at the conclusion of the judges decision. There were a lot of great souls going against one another. I believe her name is Isis was good, Olivier was also good, MoThePoet was amazing, very breath taking, she absolutely gave me chills and she should of won to be honest. Im pretty sure that the audience would be in agreeance with that. There was one more who caught my eye, she was really seductive with her piece Im sorry I dont remember her name. If you are new to this and know you have some work to do then the loud gallery is good for you to practice But.... If you have already put your name out there and youre a little known and want to get more out there. The loud gallery isnt the place to recognize that fire. But....Look my beautiful people, I really mean what Im about to say. If you are serious about the blood, sweat, and tears that you have put into your craft. If you are proud of the foundation that you have built and you have created such a great name for yourself. The loud gallery is not where you want to bring your energy. I know people who speak from their heart and for some its been a journey. So it would not be fair to you for the audience who are not judging you to see your worth and know you have earned your spot to win but the judges to already have in mind who they already want to win. If that makes sense. Fair is fair & real recognizes real so dont go somewhere that wont recognize YOU!May Peace & Love be with you all ️️
