Its a chimney. Needs more attractions. But its cool
My curiosity got the best of me when I was driving to Niagara Falls and saw this along the river. On the way back the next day, after the NF Marathon, I decided to stop by and see what the chimney was all about. What I learned was this was an impressive piece of local history and more information can be found online or on the information boards by the chimney. Being it was an easy stop off the parkway, it also is a nice place to stop for a break and stretch the legs a bit and enjoy the view of the Niagara River. What you will also learn from my photo is to not shoot into the sun.
Stop by and look at it great piece of history
Very unpleasant aroma trash everywhere
We had good time walking along the Niagara River while on our honeymoon. We will be back
Want to get amazing views and good photos while on travel then this is the right spot. A small quick stop will do the needful.
You really need to visit this place when there is no snow. Other than that, its a remarkable piece of history.
Interesting to read the story of the Old stone chimney and how many times it was taken down, relocated or rebuilt again. A nice bonus stop while in Niagara falls area
The most beautiful useless historic chimney I have ever seen at a roadside pull off. The almost helpful plaque of its history is conveniently facing the chimney so you can sit quietly and contemplate your life choices and how you ended up here at this chimney. Will definitely come every time I am up here now, for the lulz.
I loved it. Even better the second time around
Cool historical spot with amazing biking and walking trails leading all the way from the falls up the Niagara river!
Really cool sight with an interesting story
Super cool to see preserved history with regard to upstate New York that generations of Americans have worked to save and conserve. Not an awe inspiring visit, more in line with appreciation of the above and what challenges our ancestors faced in that region hundreds of years ago
For the amount of times its been moved over the years they ought to put wheels on it
Five star tourist trap.
Chimneys are my life. I am very appreciative to Niagara for allowing my tired knees to rest on the benches so kindly placed in front of the chimney. My old knees are strained from my various trips from staring at chimneys day to day. Not going to lie, I shed some tears at its beauty, it is hard to find such beautiful chimneys with such a great history. A special thanks to the French for burning down the rest of the house so we can appreciate the absolute stunning nature of the chimney.
Great view and a great stroll along the path
Good information. Worth the stop.
Very interesting
Nice location. Not much 2 see.
It is a small little piece of history. Surrounded by a nice walkpath by the water.
This chimney has survived another move and has been placed next to the scenic Niagara River. It is still a part of Niagara Falls history and I hope they will continue to preserve it for the hundreds of tourists from around the world who come to see it.
Great historical site near Niagara Falls. Two geocaches nearby too.
Love visiting historical landmarks
Strange attraction. 1st time Ive stopped to gaze at a stone chimney
Not sure what I expected but its just an old dusty chimney.
Its a old chimney on side of road exciting LOL
Another great piece of Niagara Falls, New Yorks history, and the great lengths developers are going to to preserve it and make the city as great as it once was.If you havent been, Niagara Falls is an amazing City to visit, or live work and play.
Not getting a huge historic vibe from here...
Nice place to send a text message.
So delicious .. Go there.
Nice historical place
As the name implies, this is a stone chimney dating back to 1750 that was originally part of a French fort. That Fort was burnt by the French to keep it out of the hands of the British. The chimney survived. It was then used by the British for their fort. That Fort also burnt. The chimney again survived. It is now part of a historic site on the Upper Niagara River that is beautiful to visit.
Way cool history bruh
Nothing to do here, tho.
Great Story
This chimney will get Santa Claus all mixed up..
Not much here. Just an old chimney at a big open space they could use for so much more
Historical site. Niagra Falls
The history behind this is fascinating.
ITs a cool chimney thats been moved 4 times, which defeats the originality
Like chimneys and cannons? Stop here and gaze upon the chimney in all its historic stone glory.
