Beautiful hole in the wall public space featuring a voluminous waterfall, lots of seating, and a small food vendor. As of August 2017, construction platforms over half the park are an eye sore, but once complete, itll be a perfect little oasis in Midtown.

An oasis for the cigar smoker in New York (and others). Great location near two excellent cigar stores. Ashtrays and plenty of seating. A can of Coke for a dollar. It does not get any better than that.

This happens to be a good hidden secret from the tourists that come and visit. The waterfall here offers an escape thats truly uncanny. This place is great if you want some respite from the hustle and bustle of the city but you are not trying to travel out of the way to go to an actual park. This place is a good source of inspiration if you write and meditating is awesome here, however you will still hear honks & cars every now and again.

Move little nook for a rest out lunch. Nice break from a crowded sidewalk. But it was really advertised on Pinterest as a more exciting and must see place when its just a small hole. I wouldnt go out of my way to see out but would definitely stop if I passed and needed a rest

Nice park to sit and eat or relax if you are on your lunch break. The waterfall can be a tad loud but that is relaxing to me, you will know as soon as you get there whether it is something you will like or not.

One of the best spots to sit for lunch or coffee in midtown. If I ever have extra time for lunch, I prefer to sit out there and talk with friends or just chill on my own with the waterfall in the background. It is tucked away right near Jeffries but an incredible spot overall. There is almost always enough space for 2-3 people to pull up.

In this little gem of a NYC park, a smoker can light up free from stress and the disapproving stares or complaints from those around him or her...in fact, a kindly Park employee will likely pop over to offer you an ashtray! And all while the soothing sounds of the waterfall provide background thrum. All just steps from major mid-town attractions, this little haven even has its own small kiosk for food and beverages. Truly an oasis - add this spot to your address book and you wont regret it!

A genuine albeit compact oasis in the middle of the East 50s. Fans of the musical ‘Company’ will recognize it as the park mentioned in the “Another Hundred People” sequence.

This is a not really a park. It is an area of pavers with a waterfall wall and potted plants. It is clean with tables and chairs. It is also where men go to smoke cigars. It would be an enjoyable place except for the smokers.

One of the greatest parks of NYC. It may be small, it may be surrounded by buildings but somehow this place has everything you want from a public space. Have a seat while moving the furniture as you need, have a rest under the shade and isolate yourself from the city noise with the cascade sound. Enjoy a bite from the coffee shop next to it.

A decent little park in the middle of the city with a cascade waterfall at the back. Its similar to Greenacre Park a few blocks over and is a great alternative for a lunch goer like me. I would give this 5 stars, if it wasnt for even better parks nearby. But nonetheless its a great spot.

Love Paley Park, the only public park in NYC that youre allowed to smoke in (they even have ashtrays and places to dispose of them). Its a pretty small lot between two buildings in midtown east. It has cobblestone and a few steps to get into it (not wheelchair accessible). In the back is a small perpetual waterfall that drown out the noise of the city the further into the space you move. This makes it ideal for private/discrete conversations. Theres also a small food stand on the inside that is operational during the day. This is a good spot to come through for a rest, a cig break, or even to eat your lunch if youre a local worker.

The scaffolding is now gone, but the weather is on the cold side most days so it’s hard to endure the cold at the park at this time.

This would be a great urban oasis except for one thing. It seems to have been taken over by cigarette and cigar smokers. If you love waterfalls and inhaling second-hand smoke, then this the place for you. Given that smoking is now illegal I public parks in NYC Im not sure why its tolerated here.
