Lovely- its like visiting Europe while standing in such a beautiful New York City Treasure. Central Park is one of my favorite places in the city & right now, its gorgeous with all its vibrant fall accent colors. The trees are sublime!!!

Kind of a letdown but also really cool at the same time. It’s kinda crazy to think there’s a castle in the middle of Central Park. With that said, it’s way smaller than I expected. The view from the castle is nice, but I enjoyed look at Belvedere from across Turtle Pond more. It’s a great photo op to say the least. It’s also a good date spot, for sure.

Lovely little castle in the middle of the park you can go in and get higher view points of the park. Get crowded easily so you need to be a little assertive if you go up or youll be waiting a while to get back down the stairs

Beautiful place. I just love being in central park under the trees. Its like therapy being there. Sometimes I dont even want go back home; just want to stay there continuously. Been riding my bike for a few years now but wish I got it much sooner. With a bike, you surely discover great places.

Belvedere Castle is a folly in Central Park in Manhattan, New York City. It contains exhibit rooms and an observation deck, and since 1919, has also housed the official Central Park weather station.Belvedere Castle was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux in 1867–1869. An architectural hybrid of Gothic and Romanesque styles, Vauxs design called for a Manhattan schist and granite structure with a corner tower with conical cap, with the existing lookout over parapet walls between them. Its name comes from belvedere, which means beautiful view in Italian.

A beautiful structure by the talented duo of Vaux and Mould, this Victorian castle is a joy to see. A lot of people arent aware of its existence, and its so much fun to observe their reaction when they first lay eyes on a real castle, perched atop a rock in front of Turtle pond, in all its loveliness. The castle adds a touch of fairytale to the already picturesque vistas of Central Park.

We were looking for somewhere with a good vantage point for free, and although its not super high up, you still get a really nice view!! The walk up to it was nice, Im out of shape so it was a little bit of a hike but well worth it. If you go during regular business hours, the doors to the castle are unlocked and inside is the stairs up to the top, plus a tiny gift shop and a lower vantage point. Go check it out!!

Amazing views of Central Park and the city, but I wouldnt consider Belvedere Castle so much a castle as it is a tower. Theres not much to see inside the actual tower, but once you climb the (narrow) set of stairs, you get an amazing view of the Park. Definitely worth a visit!

We had fun exploring the castle and looking at the different things that were here and taking photos from different angles in different places amongst the castle. Its a good landmark to see on your way through the park, but it wont provide you with too much entertainment unless you are really into that sort of thing - the history might interest some.

It’s a mini Castle inside Central Park, nice view from the top level but only a small part of the park can be seen from there. Stairs are tiny I would recommend to be patient with fellow visitors while going up and down. It’s gloomy in November but I can imagine it has a more energetic vibe in Summer and it must be more scenic in the snow in a month or so. It gets dark early in winter so I would recommend to go before 4:30pm. There are many people taking pictures but nobody stays more than 10 minutes, it’s worth making a quick stop while you visit Central Park.

Situated deep inside Central Park, its a nice spot to stop by and relax. Good history background and its absolutely free to visit. Theres a gift shop where you can buy yourself souvenirs. I recommend going to the top where you get a view of the central park. The top is not wheelchair accessible and the stairway is really narrow, only one person a time so when its fully packed it gets excessively difficult to ascend or descend the stairway. There are staff on site who help monitor and manage the stairway traffic and offer any general assistance. A photogenic place and very touristic.

The greatest castle, in the greatest park, in the greatest city, in the greatest country in the world. How could you not like it. Go up the narrow staircase, if you can make it, to the top of the castle. It’s narrow and fun dodging up the stairs.
