Saw live music played downstairs then went upstairs to dance for a few hours on a Sunday night. The venue down stairs is small and will equipped for small shows. The DJ upstairs played an eclectic mix of older Hip Hop and new Latin music with a really random 90s boy band song thrown in occasionally that had a lot of us standing around looking at each other.The crowd upstairs was very diverse; there were people of every ethnicity all dancing together. That was probably highlight along with the drinks which were great.

Great place for fun with friends, good food and happy hour, loved the music.

I went to hear singer Emilie Mover and Marcos Varella, bassist. I love Emilies songs so much. I hope she comes back. It is a lovely venue and a great East Village location. I remember when they sold pianos here. I am glad there is live music. It is a beautiful club. I am so happy I went. I hope to come back. I can tell the management loves music. The atmosphere is conducive to a good time. I love it a lot. Good bar in the front.

My best discovery whilst in New York recently.Converted piano showroom on the Lower East side with a bar and backroom where live music is performed.New York as one of the influential centres of music is alive and kicking.Saw a couple of fantastic bands early Saturday night and they really warmed the cold chilly air.First band was bunch of young New Yorkers playing an excellent amalgam of punk and pop.All original material with lots of energy and very catchy.Second band had a more Latin feel with beautiful melodic guitar lines overlaid by a richly textured voice.Always great to see original live musicFor music lovers worth a visit

This place was so incredibly lively and full on energy! We went to the Behaviorist EP release show and it was awesome. The live music area was a decent size and it fit an incredible amount of people. I was shocked that even though the place was hopping with people, there was no wait at the bathrooms and they were decently clean as well. The place was fun and the employees were upbeat and enjoying themselves as well. Overall a great place for a fun night and to see live music.

Awesome drink prices during happy hour coupled with amazing food, AND IN MANHATTAN??? YES please! HINT: the frozen margaritas are super yummy and super strong...

Went during happy hour which ends at 7PM. The bouncer at the door was unnecessarily rude. We had a Margarita which was great, however also tried a Moscow mule which was terrible. I understand it is not a cocktail bar, but it was still $14 which is ridiculous! Other than that we enjoyed the music although it could’ve been turned down a little!

Pianos is pretty excellent. Its a microcosm of the Lower East Side bar scene more broadly: very trendy, but unpretentious. Prepare to wait in line if youre visiting after 9 on a Thursday or a Friday, but if you pop in off hours then youll enjoy a cheap drinks and exceptional atmosphere.

This is the place to be! You party for cheap and actually have fun! Its super packed but the line to get in moves relatively fast. You will be dancing all night with a college crowd thats super diverse

Great place to play. Downstairs has a great PA for bands. Upstairs has decent sound. The Dj upstairs on Wednesday is fire.Also great Vegan food and I am not a Vegan.

Depending on the night the vibe is awesome . I love that their is different rooms with different music . It’s like a different atmosphere in every room . Only complaint why it isn’t 5 stars on Friday and Saturday’s after a certain time, the security guards if you’re a man trying to come in by yourself, will charge you 20 at the door. pianos is free to get in . They will say if you’re not accompanied by a woman you can’t come in or pay 20

Great music and they also have a live jazz band. Mostly stayed at the top floor but the two floors generally play different type of music. So if youre not feeling one DJ you ca always go to another floor

How great can a lounge really be if they can’t even answer client phone calls?? I lost something and was advised to call the next day to see if the item was returned, but NO ONE answered the phone. It’s extremely unprofessional and honestly quite suspicious.If the phone number doesn’t work, or the operating system is not working properly than it should be addressed, or your employees, at the very least, should be a able to provide a more useful way to contact the lunge.

Cool vibe on a Sunday evening, funky music; great crowd. Love that it’s got different rooms depending on your mood.A cool bar display with all the different drinks on offer. The security were super friendly and always good to get there a little earlier when the queue isn’t around the block.As an Aussie woman; I would definitely rate this bar a must on a Sunday

Pianos had a really great happy hour with $5 frozen margaritas. The atmosphere is usually pretty lively and they have fun dj’s most of the time. I loved their Indian style chickpea nachos but the last time I went they had a new chef and their nachos were terrible...

Pretty legit little spot. I was on my way to a place to eat and had to get a good buzz going so I ended up here! Good happy hour price. Friendly service and clean. Didn’t get a chance to eat, but worth the $ to drink during HH.

Nice venue. Came for a freestyle Monday and got there early enough for a artist str8 from Japan named Simon. I had drinks and fries b4 the show. I had already eaten. I cant tell you how the food is. 2nd margarita did the trick. A few years back I had seen the California ensemble Moonchild here aswell.

Had a great time for my first time going there but it seems they put the good DJ up front and the bad one in the back to even out the crowds. He kept switching between genre and time zones which is fine as long as you do it right. Also they would let the whole song play out as if they didn’t have enough to run the night or was just lazy to do a better job. This was my first time so I’ll leave it at 4 stars. Hopefully my next experience will be much better or I’ll be handing the DJ my flash drive LOL

Been here twice now. First time was really fun. Was able to go to the dance floor in the back. Second time going they had a $10 concert in the back so it was locked down and it was $5 to go upstairs and dance. They make you check your stuff to go upstairs. Music is hit or miss depending on the night.

Came through to see @Lambrabbit rock the 1s and 2s.... Phenomenal. Shes knowledgeable and immensely talented with a diverse range of genres But from what I gather this is a generally dope spot for music. Check it out, and bring your State Issued ID! They dont accept IDNYC

My friend took me here last night and I absolutely love this place! Its a gem! There was a wait to get in but it was worth every second of the cold. Great music, great drinks, helpful staff. Go here for a guaranteed good time. Definitely coming back here on my birthday.

Mediterranean nachos make for a savory meal while listening to nonstop tunes spun for pleasure. Even when Im going to other venues for bands, I stop by Pianos for dinner and drinks. Theres no beating the quality and price.

Ive visited Pianos weekend after weekend. Its a solid place to go if you want somewhere crowded with music you can actually dance to. I dont love the prices, or mandatory coat check to go upstairs. Evidently it doesnt stop me from going back though.

The vibe in this place is nice. Great spot to chill and listen to some music with some friends. The dj upstairs was killin it, her mixes were dope. The food is good and the best part is they have vegan and vegetarian options.

Dope space for up and coming artist. Saw Hadji Gaviota there. Fuego. Bar is busy and the drinks is cool. Staff is nice as well, the lady that was checking the will call was dope and answered questions and her curly hair was cool.Honestly had a good time for the short time I was there. Even if you’re not seeing the a show they sometimes have DJ’s doing sets up there so it’s a nice spot if you feel like going to a party but don’t want to at the same time. And food in the area is good as well.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Bouncers are SMOKING WEED on the job. Appalled at the unprofessional behavior.This was around 8:30 on 4/27. He was hitting a dab pen. Looked like he was purposely turning away from the cameras. He was facing the street. Not sure about the other bouncers but I know one was.

This is New York! A somewhat loud place for typically loud people and their chaotic lives. Where live music a plenty gets partially ignored most of the time and yet there are really a lot good shows here. Drinks and beers are way over priced outside of happy hour. Biggest surprise here is the exceptional veggieburger and fries at $10 - Imitation meat done well with hints smoke and chipotle, naturally drenched in guac. For everything else, pianos is 24/7 hit or miss and a perfect example of living in a too big city with too much of everything.

I went there during a DJ set for my first time recently (even though I hear theyre more known for their live shows), and it was great. The music wasnt super interesting as they played hits covering 2007-2018, but everyone was dancing and the crowd was great in general.It was only $8 to go upstairs, downstairs is free. Note that if you bring a coat ($3) and/or a bag ($5), youll have to check both. The mixed drinks are overpriced and not that great, beers were fairly priced (I wasnt going here for the drinks, though). Heard the food was pretty solid.

Pianos is always a great place to get happy hour with friends and discover new music. We always end up there when we have no clue where else to go. Never disappoints.

Pianos is a great music venue in the back and bar in the front type of place. They got security checking I.D. at the door. D.J. music spinning vinyl. Great selection of beer and drinks at a reasonable price. Ive never had the food before but i hear it is really good. Bathrooms are small and downstairs . There is also an upstairs nice space with good music as well. If you never been here before I definitely recommend checking it out at least once if you are In the area.

Two levels for music, the upstairs is mostly acoustic. They get lots of good bands. Theres a good, nice-sized bar on the main floor. Sometimes a DJ sets up at the end of the bar. No food served here, but plenty of good food nearby

The place is great and all but they need to change the security. They’re all rude for no reason. Bad for business. And I’ve heard the same complaint from all of my friends who’ve went. Bad for business. Never going back again.

Frozen Margaritas that will have you feeling amazing. The music is way too loud though, it becomes very hard to hear downstairs. But upstairs is really chill and a bit dark but cozy. Food is pretty good also, nothing to brag about. But totally worth the decent prices, totally cant go wrong with this place.

The security guy at the door does not let you in and gives you no apparent reason other than no guys. But he ask you for money to let you in. Overall is a great place for drinks and to have a fun time. Been going there for over five years but these guys are messing it up and i think management needs to do something about it. If you want to charge to get in just have a cover for everybody. I told the security guy that i will make sure that he stop this bs at the door. This is the first step. And if you are reading this, just watch what’s coming next. People just want to go in have a drink and nice conversation, not everybody wants to go upstairs which you guys have a cover for it. Guys buy drinks too.

Went to this place earlier. Theyve switched to Beyond Meat (veggie patties) which is cool. However that fails to explain why it took about 40min to prepare a veggie patty. We complain and they tell us 5 more min. Unclear if they forgot about our order but we seemed to be the only ones getting food at the restaurant. Not into the idea of a burger on an English muffin, feels like something prepared in a Walmart parking lot. That would have at least explained my nausea and the food poisoning we got just after leaving the restaurant. 2 people (not employees) asked us about the food while we were eating because they seemed to have their own hesitations. Rightfully so... The $5 Happy Hour Frozen Margs were good tho.

A great bar to go to when you want to drink AND dance ! Its better to get there before 12am or there will be a long line! But once youre in there it is a great time ! Great music and great vibes

The nachos were a handful of chips gasping for breath beneath an onslaught of chickpeas. Who makes Mediterranean nachos? Also, you cant get Margaritas on happy hour upstairs. How is that a thing? Theyre one price on one floor and a different price in the upper level. Thats criminal.

The best place to hangout with friends and have fun. The music , the drinks and the food makes it an amazing experience altogether .They had decent music playing throughout the entire night which was cool.I wish i had an option to give some additional stars.

A favorite go to spot for years! Get ready to dance your face off. The back room usually has live music and the upstairs vibe is usually hip hop. Always a good time.

A great dual performance room venue on the LES. Still one of the go-to places to see live independent music all these years later. Grab a pastrami at Katzs and hit up Arlenes Grocery for the last drink or song of the night before you stumble home and dream sweet nothings about that band you never heard of before but is now your new favorite.

Fun atmosphere and had a great time however, one of the bouncers, Ray, was escorting another girl out and instead of saying excuse me he heavy handedly pushed me out of the way. TWICE! I asked anohter bouncer if he knew his name so he told me. Managment needs to do something about him.

Classic spot in LES. Definitely went here for the first time because Childish Gambino rapped about it. 3 different rooms = 3 different vibes. Bathrooms were nasty but we cleaned them up, hire us!
