Beautiful architectural wonder. Take a moment to look at all the little masonry details and designs of the building. Also check out all the stone creatures and people around the front door. The inside lobby is beautiful also but you cant get in there unless you were on a tour or you work in the building.

I remember this place from when I was a little kid. Walking in it almost 30 years later, I was shocked at how amazing it looks. It is a gorgeous building which houses many different businesses from engineers to doctors to schools and so much more! It is a landmark and such a gorgeous site to look at.

This tour was even better than I expected! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the building and able to really give us a good sense of the building’s place within the larger historic picture of NYC. We did the 30 minute tour with my parents who were visiting from out of town, and it was the perfect activity for people who either live in the area or who are looking for an experience away from all the other tourists! I definitely would love to take the 90 minute tour, since there was so much more we could have seen and learned about. Thank you for preserving this story through your tours!

Ornate building which deserves its landmark status. The lobby is where the most features are preserved. The upper floors, not so much, but still kind of interesting, if just to see which features still exist and which have been buried. Be warned: there is no picture taking unless you are part of a paid official tour. Otherwise, people would be less likely to pay for the tour.

The tour we were on took us through various areas of the lobby and basement. The building itself was absolutely phenomenal with rich history and character. The history of how it was built and the character of Woolworth himself was very interesting. If you get a chance to go on the tour please sign up and enjoy the magic that is the Woolworth Building.

Definitely recommend taking the tour of the Woolworth Building Lobby. Theres a lot to take in and without a guide youre at a loss to understand the significance of the mosaics and little gargoyles throughout. You also wouldnt get the perspective of what it must have been like for this to have been the tallest building in New York for a while and the relevance of who Woolworth was and what he brought to the retail landscape.

Wonderful opportunity to see one of New Yorks first great office buildings. Knowledgeable guide, the one hour tour has time for photos and taking in the details. Brief look from outside and then an extended period in the lobby before finishing up in the seldom seen basement. Interesting look into New York City history in the early 20th century. Great tour. History of American business that helped explain the man and his building....biggest most elaborate etc. Very glad I took the tour. Recommend it!

Designed in the neo-Gothic style by the architect Cass Gilbert. Originally designed to be 420 feet (130 m) high, the building was eventually elevated to 792 feet (241 m). When completed in 1913, the Woolworth Building was 60 stories tall. It was the tallest building in the world from 1913 to 1930.

Beautiful and ornate building that looks reasonably well maintained, inside and out. You really get a sense of the history of the place when you walk into the grand lobby and take the elevator, which was the fastest in the world when it was built more than a century ago. Ive been here a few times for various appointments and the ground floor staff Ive so far encountered were competent and helpful.

The world’s tallest building upon completion in 1913, Cass Gilbert’s 60-story, 792ft-tall Woolworth Building is a neo-Gothic marvel, elegantly clad in masonry and terracotta. (It was surpassed in height by the Chrysler Building in 1930.) The breathtaking lobby – a spectacle of dazzling, Byzantine-like mosaics – is accessible only on prebooked guided tours, which also offer insight into the building’s more curious original features, among them a dedicated subway entrance and a secret swimming pool.

This is a good tour. Since you walk so much in NYC anyway and if you already have taken a walking tour, this one involves only a small amount of walking. Early US skyscraper built in gothic style. It was the tallest building in the world till 1930 - when it was surpassed by current Trump Building (40 Wall St). It still counts as top 50 tallest buildings in NYC. The building has 60 floors with the top 30 being residences. Rest of the floors are office spaces. The lobby of this building is simply breathtaking. It gives you a feeling of visiting a cathedral. The building features as American headquarters of ministry of magic in Harry Potter spinoff - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

New York has a lot of old buildings. Perhaps surprisingly, many of those buildings are actually houses (yes, like real houses). These remnants of the early Dutch farming days can be spotted throughout the five boroughs, as can churches, apartments and “skyscrapers” from earlier times. I’ve rounded up some of the city’s oldest structures. Test your knowledge and see how many you’re familiar with ., And while you’re at it, make plans to visit this one ,The Woolworth Building ,these historic landmark, the next time you’re out and about check this out .

There was time for questions thorough examination.i came away thinking why doesnt everybody want to visit this building, which a lot of people are unaware of, but which is one of the most interesting and significant in New York- thankyou Woolworth tours and Ed Welter (tour guide).Chris and Jules
