Absolutely loved visiting the Poster House Museum. The nicest people, so knowledgeable, work there. Not crowded. Easy to access a timed reservation online. Visited early October 2020, clean, socially distanced, caring for visitors at this interesting time. Also very accessible for walking and nearby subways, bus lines right in front. Definitely worth a visit, terrific current exhibits including one with hundreds of posters, focus on the development of China for the past 100 years including recent decades. Take it from Professor Jan, you should visit here!

Incredible exhibitions. I find it even more attractive than those large & well-known museums. The Chinese posters exhibition is true to the history and informative. The Swiss grid system showcases many posters at that time.

An incredible little gem in a city of hundreds of museums. Definitely worth a visit. The exhibits are interesting and very well done. Beautiful pieces that make you appreciate posters as true works of art. Tim was an amazing and informative tour guide. Highly, highly recommended!

Such a lovely art space with such great exhibitions upstairs and downstairs. Its perfect for a lazy weekend and its not too big and not too small, nor is it crazily packed. The staff is super friendly and the gift shop at front has some really great stuff. Definitely my kind of place and would definitely come again!

Beautiful new museum. Detailed history and analysis next to most pieces. Looking forward to the future programming. Of the three galleries two were used for the Mucha exhibit so it would have been nice to see more variety. $12 for adult entry

The Mucha exhibition was amazing: well set up, logical transitions and interesting and thoughtfully written descriptions. Many of my favorite pieces were there. Its unfortunate they couldnt fit them all upstairs. My only complaint is the lighting in the downstairs gallery isnt very well done and causes a glare.I will definitely visit this specific exhibition again and highly recommend it if you are even a little interested in art nouveau and feminine strength and beauty. Well worth the $12 admission.

The Mucha exhibition was great and nicely displayed. The space itself, although convenient, is rather small with 2 floors. It took me around 20 mins to finish the whole exhibition walking slowly. The second floor (downstairs) smelled really, really bad due to a construction next door. The staff was very friendly, professional & the museum shop had nice artbook collection.

Amazing museum with incredibly engaging exhibits. The 2017 Womens March exhibit was incredibly moving and inspiring, although I do wish the room it was set up in was larger, as it seemed a little crammed in downstairs. The larger, upstairs exhibit, the Handpainted Movie Posters from Ghana, was sweeping and impressive, with plenty of room and really great explanations on the artists reasons and drive. I learnt a lot and will definitely be back for a return visit. Plus they have a great shop and the tickets are inexpensive!

This museum of posters is epic in its display of the beautiful iconic posters and graphics of modern history, in Paris, New York, and other such hubs of creative greatness. One book, with the title You had better make noise, was picture after picture of revolutionary quotes by leaders and laymen alike, including the one from the title, by Malcolm X.Not all revolutions are through bullets or even ballots (another quote from the book)- some are through the words and the pen, the books and the paper, the posters plastered all over the streets we walk on, and the words of the prophets, written on the subway walls.Poster House knew that well.

When I walked into Poster House,” I was greeted by a beautiful young woman by the name of Ankita, who not only was fun to speak with on an array of subjects, but also very happy to be there. I am not one person to ever say nor tell another what they should do, but with how well we carried our conversation, I could see that Ankita likes where she is in her life, currently. Ankita, thank you for the information you provided me with. “Poster House” has a wonderful person on their team :) as well as a beautiful gallery that is a wonderful outlet and space for Artist.

An art gallery with just posters? Sure, if you have the right material with interesting and diverse stories and themes. And I thought that their exhibitions on Japanese etiquette and feminism in the late 1800s fit the bill. Unique and well done. The space is small-ish and you can see everything in under an hour. There is a cafe and a gift shop onsite. Staff were friendly and pleasant.

Wandered past this amazing museum on our way from the High Line to the Theatre District... When we walked in the staff was welcoming and explained the exhibits so well that we came back after the show (we didnt have time before). The hand-painted movie posters from Ghana were so unexpected but wonderful and the organziation of the Womens March Posters placed the protest in a larger context of movements throughout U.S. history

Just went today to see the Mucha exhibit amazing I have no issue with it I loved the transition of his works. Very clean and the staff and security guard they are very passionate about the art that is put up. Such as the security guard he says even he wants to learn about the work and understand it. This place has amazing potential in showing works towards the graphic design realm. Definetly looking forward to going to future exhibits. This is an amazing place!!!!

Visited the Poster House yesterday with a friend to see the Mucha exhibit currently on display. The gallery itself is a fantastic space and the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the exhibits. The Mucha show was amazing and well worth the visit. I want to personally give a shout out to Heidi Smith who helped guide my friend and I through the gift shop. Not only friendly but asked us lots of questions and was genuinely interested in us as guests. Cheers to whomever manages customer service at this gallery, job well done, I’ll be back!

Disappointed with this museum. The pros: the staff, the building and the interactive screen next to the counter. The cons: everything else.We were hoping for some historical posters and back story over time, but it was more of an old focused art museum on the same artist. Also small and a bit overpriced.
