A great part of holy week is the Chrism Mass! All priests in the Diocese are present for the Mass celebrated by the bishop. What a beautiful ceremony!!

They lobbied state govt heavily to get tax payer dollars from the school voucher program. Taking precious public school funding to pay themselves and also not pay taxes as a religious institution. Boo!

My husband was having hypotension at a group gathering and I had called the ambulence. The dispatcher told us to wait by the nearest exit to make it easier for the parametics ,but one of the group leaders insisted on taking him further into the church to pray for him. This wasnt some religious coming-to episode. My husband couldve died. I did not let anyone take him and waited for parametics. This all happened during some shouting&standing prayer, my husband was dizzy and wanted to sit down but the leader made him stand which is when he passed out. I highly recommend if you have health issues attend only the caucasian-majority masses. Any other mass is very patronizing if you arent like the people who attend.Especially the marriage classes, all the priests are wonderful and secretaries, just not small group leaders (atleast the one i have encountered)

Denied help why? Im a practicing Catholic. I just moved to Nashville and been having a hard time finding a place to stay as I start a new job soon. I asked about a couple of places within the diocese to help me out with a place til I got on my feet. I got denied just because I am other Creeds etc. I dont normally ask for help often nor do I expect pity but it just made me feel horrible for asking help and being turned away for not being something Im. Not. Ive been living in my car. This is one time I couldnt land on my feet. Im asking for a help up not a hand out.
