It’s the most beautiful and eventful walk of the lakes in the city. I LOVE all the colorful leaves in the fall. My favorite lake in mpls :)

One of my favorite spots to do outdoor activities and soak up some good MN sun.

The bike path and the pedestrian path are separate most of the way around the lake. There are benches spaced out pretty evenly. All of them face the lake with some on each side of the path offering some places to people watch and others to gaze across the water. There are also plenty of grassy areas to set up a picnic in the sun or in the shade of a tree.

This is one of the best places to people watch in the city!!Our Happy Place of a Lifetime. We visit often and are never disappointed. Cant wait to go back again.

Lovely place for walk, run, stroll, canoe, kayak, frisbee ir whatever else you have in mind. Park in any of the available spots on the road that runs counterclock wise around the lake one way. Good to keep an eye on some exquisite real estate as you walk around.

This place has a nice bike path, walk path. You can fish if you like, a place to have a picnic or to socialize with friends. Social distanceing is respected. Love ️ the place. Would advise others to visit the park.

Beautiful biking and walking trails. Plenty of grassy spaces for individuals or groups. Very good for families with children and pets!

One of the more beautiful and tranquil lakes to bike around in the area. This is a perfect place to stop, sit, and relax without all the sounds of heavy motor traffic. Walk here, bike here, but please dont drive your car here.

Lake of the isles park has a special part on my life a few years ago I used to have a problem with smoking, it was lake of the isles where I started to jog in order to quit smoking it has been 35 years since them and I still dont smoke. I enjoy going there once in a while.

Beautiful inner city lake with nice walking path, great views of downtown and classic mansions.

Sitting on a park bench on a summer day is wonderful way to pass an hour. There are both walking and cycling trails, and you can park on the parkway. Only 4 stars because the park service could tidy up the shoreline to optimize the view.

This is one of the best parks and lakes in the city! Easy walk for anyone winter or summer. The lake freezes and the city puts up a rink and warming house. They wet the ice every morning too. There are some good pick up games here in the evenings and on the weekends. I bring my dogs down here all the time. Off lease dog park on the south side of the lake is convenient. Safe area as well, even at night. Easy to go on a walk and grab a drink after too.

The calm and quiet within Minneapolis City limits. Great place to walk with friends.

Large area to roam around. There is an under bridge to voat around and walking/biking area. Family and children friendly.

Beautiful spacious park, but there was no enforcement of wearing masks. While most people could socially distance when you couldnt very few others wore a mask.

Beautiful well kept clean city park with walking and biking paths beautiful lake with Lily pads, peaceful weeping willows away in the breeze and the paths are out in the open so in youre looking for a shady forest walk this is not the place.

I actually walked till Lake of the Isles Park from downtown along the cedar lake trail.And from one I took a left and walked inside the neighbourhood.It looks so rich and beautiful! And when I reached the lake I was disappointed at first.But as I started walking around the lake it was beautiful.There were so many people walking, running , biking etc.The walking and biking trail connects you to Lake Calhoun as well.The walking trail pretty long.Its perfect for a walk or a good run. And the greenery around the trail is great for relaxing !!

Sunday...can never go wrong being outside near water, LOTA is a great option with the scenic path. Absolutely perfect Fall day, I hope everyone is able to get out and enjoy the day and the colors before the change in weather whisks all the leaves away.

This is a great place for dogs to have fun being a dog. An off leash permit is required. Throwing a ball and running with the other dogs is great exercise. The evening is good when the afternoon is fun filled exercise.

The Lake is fun to walk or scoot around. Its fun to see some of the largest houses in the Twin Cities Including some very historic homes.

Canoe rentals are worth it! Give it a try you wont regret it.

Lake of the Isles is a great lake to walk, bike, run, or ski around. Decent distance, beautiful homes to look at and less busy than lake Calhoun. Also in the winter there is a free skating rink on the north end of the lake with a warming house.

While many chunks of the Minnehah Parkway are closed, we had a 5 star outing, just Grandpa and grandson for a 4 hour fishing outing. There are a wide variety of fish in the lake, with lots of bikers, runners, kayaker, paddle boards and even people reading books or hanging out in hammocks. A great time all around!!!

This lake is peaceful and very well maintained.

Gorgeous walking paths, separate biking paths, beautiful scenery. Natural habitat of plants around the lake, and we saw 3 monarch caterpillars on one plant.

3 mile walk. Good for headphones and thinking while getting good exercise!

Beautiful park for a walk. Lots of people walking, running, and with thier dogs. Everyone was very friendly. The only bathrooms I saw were portapoties. Lots of ducks and other birds to watch.

Minneapolis is much better at running parks than any other city service. Lake Of The Isles ice skating and Luminary Loppet is wonderful. If the city council and mayor ran other basic city services the way they do parks, I would be less tempted to move. My family is getting taxed out of this town, which is comically ironic because the people running this city talk so much about affordable housing.

Consistently pleasant. Nice people, great sidewalks and plenty of room for activities. My favorite chain of lakes to Kayak in Minneapolis. Bde Maka Ska, Lake of the isles and Cedar lake are all connected.

Ive always liked the chain of lakes parks and it seems they keep making improvements to it every time Im there.

I really like this lake. The trails bring you right up to the waterfront. There are biking trails and walking trails. Theres also to wildlife and I also like how narrow the lake is. I would recommend people stop down to check out this gem.

Its amazing to walk around the lake. The pathways for walking and cycling are separated - therefore I dont have to worry of my dog was in anyones way. Plus, the distance is not too far - just nice for a short afternoon walk.

Beautiful park with a great trail around it. Can get a little busy on a nice day, but still with the walk. You can get around it in about 90 min at a leisurely stroll.

Its great to be able to get outside and enjoy the natural beauty of the Lakes! Whether youre cross country skiing, snow shoeing, or just out on a walk about, the Chain of Lakes and their various islands and water ways provides a great setting, with plenty of distance, to get in a solid workout or just leisurely enjoy the scenery.

The community surrounding this park seems to deeply support and maintain this unique parkspace. Perfect area for a jog, walk or ice skate. Seems much more subdued in terms of the amount of individuals using the park which can mean that it is more relaxing and meditative than other city parks. Wirth dredged the slew that is now know as Lake of the Isles and it is presently one of the premiere neighborhoods in Minnesota.

Great place! Only downside is everyone knows it, so ends up being crowded.

Great place to walk

I rented electric electric bike for my moms birthday and rode around the Minneapolis chain of lakes. The bike paths are well planned and well maintained, the lakes are beautiful and surrounded by picnic and play areas. Its one of the nicest urban recreation areas in the country. I highly recommend.

Skate for free! Not sure how not to give this 5 stars. There are a variety of donated skates to borrow, also free, but limited, and generally dull blades. Still, great for free!

For a quiet, beautiful lake to visit, Lake of the Isles is my recommendation. Its surrounded by beautiful homes and is very close to a lot is excellent cafes and restaurants. I love coming here with friends to have a picnic and listen to music.

Best and most scenic lake to walk around.

Love this chain of lakes! Easily navigated with great tunnels and bridges to go under. All the beaches along the lakes are clean, spacious, perfectly clear water with bathrooms. No fishy smell on the car ride home!

A beautiful slice of nature right by uptown. Great for jogging, dog walking, and transcendentalism.
