First I would like to say the show was excellent! Box office staff, theatre usher, and theater wait staff were all helpful, polite, and efficient. The show itself was hilarious, and our whole family very much enjoyed it.Unfortunately our experience for dinner was quite different:-We arrived at 9pm, and there were very few people dinning at the restaurant.-Waitress delivered water, and did not take our drink orders-Our salads came out before we got our drinks-We got our drinks 25 min after we sat down.-We asked for bread, and got it after everyone had finished their meals. She cleared the dinner plates and left no plates for the bread-We did not receive all of our meals, my dads meal came about 20 min after everyone else’s-She offered him a free desert which we were not interested in.-After the meal she brought the check, and did not return to run the card for 20 min.Furthermore I emailed twice about our poor experience and received nothing back.DONT GO HERE, NOT WORTH PRIORITY SEATING!

I visited here right before the stand up comics went live. The atmosphere and setting is very festive. Be prepared to sit down and order. Sometimes it short staff and you have to wait a while before getting your tab.

The best deal is to get the dinner package so you can get great seats for the show. Seating is assigned at the time you arrive, so if you want to sit close to the stage you will need to arrive early. Great service at the restaurant and bar. Sign up for their newsletter and get 2 free tickets each month! The food at Sticks is very good. I love the cheesecake for dessert.

The reviews were mixed and I wanted to get priority seating for the show so I took a chance. Wasnt expecting much but was really surprised at how bad it was. The service was great but the food and restaurant vibe reminded me of Kitchen Nightmares. Beer cheese soup tasted like melted velveeta, the baby back ribs had been doused in liquid smoke, and the braised short ribs were just mush. Definitely will pass next time as we ended up feeling sick during the show.

This place has really turned itself around and has some pretty wonderful food. Not sure I would go here unless I was also attending the ACME Comedy Club for a show, but I am certainly not disappointed in the fare. If you are going to a comedy show, consider doing the dinner & show package. You will get preferred seating for the show.

This was our first time at Acme and I was a bit leary after readying some of the reviews left on here. We had a perfect time. The staff was very helpful and the Rigatoni and Mushroom Ravioli were both very good. The only complaint I have is that the wait for a drink was a little long but what can you expect when they are trying to serve people in a theater style sitting? We drove 3 hours to get there and would do it again in a heart beat.

I dont typically write reviews, but I saw some negative reviews so I wanted to put this here for people to read. I have been to Acme, two times now. Once was last year and once was recently for Chad Daniels. The first time was just a show, and it was great. Funny comedian and friendly staff.The second time was this weekend. My mom and I went for dinner and a show. I had never been to Sticks before but I highly recommend the dinner and a show package. First of all, where else can you get an AMAZING meal and live entertainment for $33/$37. Thats almost unheard of. I had the chicken and my mom had the salmon and both of our meals were absolutely spectacular. I couldnt finish my food, but I really wanted to, I was just too full. Then we went into Acme for the show afterwards. ( My only negative comment is that the website says seating is first come first served, but they somehow had assigned seats to us and took us to them. I didnt like that ) Other than that the wait staff inside the comedy club and comedians were awesome. No complaints at all.I hope people read this next part. I saw a few people talk about getting asked to leave or be quiet. They say at the beginning, turn off your phones and do not have sidebar conversations. DO NOT TALK while the show is going on. This is a live performance and the comedian deserves to only hear laughing, not people talking and having their own little conversations, thats distracting and disrespectful. If you go in, and just laugh and enjoy the show you will love every minute of it.I will be going back many more times.

$30+ dollars for terrible food. Ordered a rare steak and it was barely pink in the middle. Food lacked no flavor besides a Cajun seasoning that is overwhelming and extremely salty. Comedy club portion is great but the food isnt worth half of what you pay for. We did the dinner and show special and the menu they give you make you believe the food is 15-20 dollars and ends up being double that. Beer list was bad but the cocktails were good. Staff was great. Wish they were more clear on how overpriced the food is.

Safe comedy with the ambiance of a detention hall. Like other reviewers we were kicked out for almost no reason. We were told we were talking too much and then one person looked at her phone – it wasn’t audible and she wasn’t talking on it – in fact I hadn’t even noticed she had it out until they came over and made a big deal of it. Beyond my opinion that the “strikes” against our group were unmerited, the ushers were very rude. This was confusing and insulting to us so when they came back to complain about our supposed third strike we were fairly relieved to get out of there. But it did dampen our night.In hindsight the ushers were very unfriendly from the time we entered the theatre area, and when they sat us. They made a bigger distraction scolding people than whatever issues they perceived were happening.It was nice to see lots of drink options. And they serve cocktails in a carafe, but frankly you shouldn’t need that type of gimmick to get people excited about coming to your comedy club. The comedy should be the draw.

Sticks restaurant has delicious specials each day and come highly recommended. I work nearby and pick up lunch a few times a week. Ive never had a bad meal--the fries are A+, pasta insanely good, even their barbeque is awesome. Furthermore, the generous portions are affordable--about $5.75. Lastly, the servers/bar staff are friendly. Best value downtown for sure.

Very rude staff. I notice they intentionally seat black people in the back. Rude to the elderly and hearing impaired. Refused to make accomidations for a gentlemen in a wheelchair and asked him to sit in the back because his wheelchair didnt fit in the space that one seat occupied and they asked him to purchase two tickets or sit in the back. If you hand the front desk guy a tip when you purchase tickets then you get better seats. Great comedians! Very funny shows. Poor atmosphere due to unfair customer service. They removed people from the show that were laughing too loud. I video taped the rudeness to the elderly in the wheelchair but cant figure out how to post it in this review.

Ambiance: Excellent! Best date night place if you want to laugh. If youre a newbie, youre required to go on a Monday night. This is almost the untapped resource of Minnesota but its also nice to have a small following at a place like this.

The comedy shows are good, Ive never been let down there. But the food at Sticks is like overpriced Applebees: over salted and lacking any real flavor. With the abundance of good restaurants nearby, why eat there?

Buy tix early, pick up tix early, arrive early - still get the obstructed view seats. Watched a wood post tell jokes for an hour.

If you kick people out for laughing to loud. I wont ever go here then. Was looking for a way to spend some money but your off my list. So sad you can go and not laugh to loud.

I hated this but the openers stalled and kept looking at their watches. I asked for a drink and was never served. The mainliner was mediocre at best. The club itself was nice but cramped. The service was thin staffed it seemed. Not worth 18 bucks.

The service is very slow, and disappointing food. I had ordered the Seafood Linguini (which comes with clams, shrimp, and mussels in the pasta), and there was no mussels or clams - just empty shells. When I had told the manager, they didnt even apologize or offer to make it up to me. Would not go back.

I would definitely take a girl here for a first date but Im unlikely to ever get one so I probably wont be back.

This place sucks. Its uncomfortable and there are too many poles in the way, and the talent is usually lacking unless you go on a night when there is a big-name comedian. I consistently laugh my butt off at Comedy Sportz or Dudley Riggs Brave New Workshop, and Ive been to plenty of comedy clubs in NYC and Vegas, but Acme just consistently fails to impress me in any way, shape or form. Its unfortunate that Minneapolis doesnt have many choices when it comes to comedy clubs, because Acme sure doesnt deliver consistent laughs.

This place is the worst comedy club we have ever been at!we were treated very disrespectful!My husband is hearing impaired and was told we were talking to loud...then told to leave the club!We are an elderly couple and have never been treated this way ever ! Very rude staff...we were with our sons and there wives and they also had to leave ....wow think before you ever enter this place!We were not refunded our money...Rude Rude...staff! Hopefully no one else is ever treated this way again!

Good comedy show, and if youre a student, definitely worth the $5.The service was really poor however. We made a reservation for the 8pm show on Friday and someone told our group on the phone that we could use our college IDs for a discount. When we got there the people said that was an ABSOLUTE NO and were extremely un-accomodating to our group. They were extremely rude, made snarky comments, and didnt give the impression that they appreciated our business...I would consider not going back because of this.

I ordered seared Sashimi Grade Yellowfin Tuna. It turns out Sticks is in the business of serving spoiled fish. I spent 24 hours with the worst food poisoning I have ever experienced. This place deserves to be shut down.
