The cast was fantastic! They really took into consideration the time of year (Christmas, eek!) and current events/culture. There were unique theme drinks and easily accessible bars. The staff were also very polite and fun. Go check them out!

One of Minneapolis best kept secrets - Dudley Riggs is the oldest satirical comedy club in the country, having been around for 60 years! Their shows are usually two part sketch comedies with minimal props and costumes. There is a short (15 minute) improv segment after the show too, which is included in your show ticket (or you can pay $5 to see just the improv)! Shows are hit or miss but generally very funny, and quite offensive. Not for the faint of heart! They also serve signature, humorously named cocktails to drink during the show and intermission.

It was a very beautiful place and in very nice people there met some new people the day I visit here. Everyone has their own opinion on this place but my opinion is. Is a wonderful place with beautiful amazing people with very Bright Futures ahead of them. It was my honor to see to be greeting and to talk to the people I talk to that night. Because I was in the audience and this place will be one place that I will either remember for the rest of my life or that I will visit more recent. Thank you for the people who allow me to join them

BNW is always a great time! Hilarious and great laid back atmosphere. There are so many restaurants near by, its perfect for a night out. Tickets are reasonable to start, but they almost always have promo deals. This is a comedy show so they often tread the line of appropriateness, but thats often what makes great comedy.

Lauren is SO talented that Im nervous she will someday leave BNW and that will be a sad, sad day. My husband and I try to catch every show each year and often bring other couples/friends/family to share the experience. Its belly laughs and spit takes every time. Highly, highly recommend.

We went to see Ferris Muellers Day Off, it was spectacular! Drinks in the bar were themed with the topic. The antics in the show were politically driven, sprinkled with enough humor to make it enjoyable for all.Got it, first time!As a feminist......the pillows are telling me how to be...I still cant stop smiling and chuckling. If you dont get to see this title, youve missed out but as we understand it, each title is amazing and as funny as the last. Were looking forward to Angels We Have Heard are High! There are two sets of bathrooms, one upstairs, one down. If you need to go after the show, book it out or go downstairs.Parking is...Minneapolis. The 8th street ramp is under heavy construction (and scary) but they are not charging event prices.

I’ve been to three shows so far with Tinderella story being my driving force behind returning.Unfortunately, the last show was a significant stretch for humor as if all other options of creativity have been exhausted. I should have known seeing that more than half of the seating was open. Social Diseases was a sad attempt on recycled jokes and desperate crave for audience laughter. Not sure if the staff is rushing to put out shows quickly, but I recommend taking a little extra time to produce something of value. I considered this last show a waste of money and time that I will not get back.

The people running this place arent good. They Are Fantastic! Seriously hard to find any other place that turns a mandatory work meeting into a laugh fest. The amount of talent exhibited by only three of their performers was astonishing! The Cara Irish Pubs Meeting was FAR better than anticipated and it almost all can be credited to the, Brave New Workshop!

Im pretty open minded when it comes to entertainment (especially comedy), but their last show went out of their way to be incredibly political to the point that it was annoying and predictable. I enjoyed all of the previous shows over the years, but this last one left a sour taste in my mouth that Im not sure Ill be able to overcome.

I get the liberal leaning viewpoints, but keep it classy. Seems like they assume that everyone at their shows share their hatred for our current administration. I can enjoy pretty much any type of comedy, but this was completely focused on shoving the liberal agenda in everyones face. Why cant a show like this just focus on comedy and having a great time, instead of trying to force a political agenda?

The theatre really needs to work on their customer service skills. I don’t need to be scolded like a child for whispering in the ear of my girlfriend during your shows. Ok, so... you are strict on the no talking rule... don’t be rude about it or arrogant. The ladies next to me were also scolded. I talked to them about it.... they felt the same way. Maybe a nicely written reminder passed to the table would be a nice friendly reminder. I thought we were being rude, then after the staff came to the table next to us for the same reason I realized it wasn’t us. I didn’t notice the table next to us until the staff proudly intervened. Have some faith in your audience and less in the performance.

Went for the recent improv show rather than the skits that they usually present. Good talent. My husband enjoyed it probably more than I, it’s his type of comedy. But it is amazing how they can act and think on their feet. If you like Saturday Night Live, you will enjoy going to BNW. Right downtown by the other theaters.

There is something so unique about scripted improv theater. BNW has been around FOREVER, but they always keep it fresh. If youre easily offended, this is not the place for you. However, if you love to laugh and have a great sense of humor, do not pass up any chance you have to go see a BNW show! The holiday shows are an annual tradition and we try to see a few other shows a year as well. Great date night - just hop on over to any of the downtown restaurants before the show. Then head to the bar inside the theater and enjoy drinks while laughing hysterically through a few acts. Lauren Anderson is a true Minnesota gem - the day she is no longer on the BNW stage will be a sad day indeed. Enthusiastically recommend everyone go to see any and every BNW show that they can!

Venue is in downtown Saint Paul on Hennepin Avenue. The cast is usually pretty much the same. From my experience, the skits they perform tend to be hit-or-miss. Celebrating 60 years of the Brave New Workshop in 2018! Great live sketch comedy with local roots! The venue in the heart of downtown Minneapolis is a big improvement over the old space, but its still a little tight in places. Not unexpected for a comedy club, but some of the seating can really do a number on your knees after a two-hour show. The crowds dont seem to mind, though. Ive never been to a show that wasnt sold-out or close to it. Theres decently priced parking close by, but you cant get to it from the Skyway. A few minutes in the cold, however, is a small price to pay.

Great atmosphere and very fun. So many laughs. I sat at a cabaret table. Not sure this is necessary if you only have two and have other cabaret tables in front of you. Really unfortunate experience. All through the show we had a great time. The actors were phenomenal. It was a great setting and intimate crowd. It was our first time to the theater. Im sad that our positive experience turned into one of such animosity. We were told that a complaint was lodged by the Actors that we were too vocal ? We cheered and were the only two people who gave a standing ovation. Were seriously still confused as to what we said or did that was unwelcomed. My friend asked the server who delivered this message to us and was met with confrontation. I fully understand that certain situations can result in a defensive response. I dont disagree that thus situation may have put your staff on the defensive. What Im upset about is that the staff that delivered the message was not equipped with the skills to properly handle the situation.

Came here for the Danger Committee - a must see! Its a great space for that show. The parking lot is a little small, but its just next door and reasonably priced so its worth coming a little early to settle in and grab a drink. I see conflicting opinions on the drink prices in other reviews; I felt they were pretty high ($8 house wine, $5 12oz can Finnegans, $12 cocktails), but maybe its cause we were there around Christmas. But come here for the shows, not the drinks.

Our group attended a show as a part of a company outing. We thought the show was great, the actors were really good and so funny! However, our experience was very poor because the Manager decided to cut off a group of 30 people, most of whom weren’t even drinking! And, because one gentleman in our group may have been taking during the performance. We were only told that we mad the staff uncomfortable and that we could not freely purchase anymore beverages.
