Well maintained as always! Big beautiful sandy beach (also has grassy areas for picnicking). The water is great, not too many weeds or claims. Perfect place to swim or just relax near the water. Continues to be one of my favorites!

This is a fantastic park for day use (no camping). There is a nice sandy beach with some shaded areas, a nice play scape for the kids, large grassy areas for large groups, grills everywhere and an awesome view of the mountains. It gets very busy here though, beware.

This is a great day use park without camping. Plenty of parking and lots of space. There is a playground for little ones and the shallow water is perfect for stress free sun time for the adults. There are plenty of bbq grills, but no tables. There are 4 or 5 porta potties around. Theres lots of shaded space for hot days. It is a pack in, pack out park, so please dont litter. The fee is $4 for adults and $2 for kids 3-12. Kids under 3 are free! This park is quickly accessible to many nearby towns and does get pretty busy at times. Please be safe and socially distance.Overall, a great spot that only lacks open water swimming for adults. A fun place to spend the day with the family outside. Plan ahead and bring what you need, like chairs and a table.

The Sandbar state park is a fun little spot. Great for barbecues. There are tons of public grills all over the place. You can walk out several yards into the water and reach the sandbar where its much more shallow and then as you walk further it gets deep again. And you can correctly assume thats how the name came about. Watch out for water snakes and angry geese. Only complaint is that some people are inconsiderate and take their dogs off-leash has and they run around which can be a nuisance especially when you have small children.

Usually go to this beach every other summer with my family. Cousins and all! The views are beautiful and calming. One time my cousins and I were chasing seagulls along the beach! I totally recommend. Seriously, come on down. See you there! (Maybe? :>) Bye! Thank you.Btw, heres a solution to the knee-deep problem:Simply swim out a little bit. Yes, itll take you a little while, but its worth it! While youre walking/swimming to a deeper spot splash each other and make contests!A million sticks problem:Well, if you really want to fix this problem youre gonna have to spend a few minutes on it. Pick up sticks on the sand and place them in a pile. It would be best if that pile wasnt near a bunch of people- or even a few people (:>). This would really show an act of kindness and generosity!Bug problem:Bug spray!!!Oh btw, the beach is a really nice spot to be in June and July. And at the beginning of August! You may or may not have known that. (sorry)Going to the Sandbar this summer! Are you going?Bye!!ps. Remember to bring Sun Screen. :) Dont burn!

Sandbar is a great park for the whole family, friends, company picnics. Its great for the young and old. Ive been going since I was a little girl, and where Ive taken my kids, and now go with my kids and grandkids. Its good for picnicking, swimming, boating, etc. Love going up, taking the grilling items and sides after a day of work and relaxing at the lake and just enjoying my time with whomever Im with. Has a nice play area for the little ones as well. A definite place to go and check out if youre in the area, or make plans to spend the day. Its worth it.

Great place to spend the day with family. Plenty of picnic tables in the shade. The kids loved both the water and the sand. Nice clean restroom facilities. Remember to bring BUG SPRAY!!! Only complaint is the total lack of garbage cans at the park. The only ones we found were tiny home-sized trash cans in the restrooms.

Saw this beach rated as the best swimming spot in NW Vermont, which if true is a sad state of affairs. The water only gets calf-high before its completely choked with duckweed and other fun stuff. The kayak rentals were completely unstaffed for the 4 hours we were there in the middle of the day. Water was at least clean, and so were the facilities.

Many people mentioned how small this beach was before I visited it, but I actually enjoyed its size! This beach has plenty of benches and space for people to lay their towels down or set up their own spot. My friends and I really enjoyed playing volleyball with the net provided and played some frisbee in the grass which was spacious and somewhat shadowed. There were definitely more families around than in other popular beaches like North Beach making it quieter than most but we found it to be relaxing and fun nonetheless. People did not seem bothered by our laughing and games. One of the times we went there was an icecream truck that was somewhat pricey but tasted heavenly. The only downside to this beach for us was the $4 fee per adult to enter and that cash is the only accepted method of payment.

I enjoy this park! Its a family friendly beach/park w a playground, BBQ grills all over, and an ok beach. The only reason I didnt give this place 5 stars is because there is a lot of invasive species growing in the water and that can be annoying and to some, enough to stay out of the water. Staff are awesome here and this place is well maintained and bathrooms are usually clean!!

This is a great spot, with a nice white sand beach to lay out on. Be sure to bring your own picnic lunch or grill supplies as concessions are minimal. There is some good wind off this beach and its a popular wind surfing and kite boarding spot for locals. Be cautious when approaching by boat as it gets shallow fast and there are swim areas. Lots of recreational activities at this park including v ball, horse shoes, Frisbee, etc.

Clean family friendly beach. This used to be the spot for summer parties. The beaches are sandy (though watch out for zebra muscles in the water) and the water itself is generally free of aquatic plants in the swim zone. There are spots for horseshoes, volleyball, badminton, disc and other games. Plenty of picnic areas so you dont feel crowded. For those who dont like the sun, there is plenty of shade and grassy play areas too. Bathrooms and snacks on sight.Another neat feature is you can moor you boat for the day and arrive via water. I recall my grandfather bringing us in on his boat and taking us out tubing past the no-wake zone. Great little spot, the beach is certainly MUCH cleaner than other Burlington beaches (both in terms of water quality, litter, and people).

I love the sand bar and weve been going for years but now we find lots of garbage and dead fish , its sad to see the beautiful lake Champlain that I used to so freely swim in as a child turn into a questionable place for me to want my children. If anyone knows of anything different please advise me.
