It was my first time coming to this location in a long time, but the scenery hasnt changed one bit. I arrived to fish off of the pier and the bait/tackle shop is conveniently located by the end of the pier as well for any last minute fishing necessities (customer service is superb by the way). So on my first cast I caught a spider crab!!! First catch odd three dau and also the only catch. All in all it was a good day.

This past Sunday, August 23rd, I drove out early to fish for a couple hours on the Malibu Pier - a spot I have frequented for over 25 years, being a local. I pulled up at 9:15am - pretty early but it was a Sunday in Summer, so I anticipated some crowds. I pulled up to park in the Pier parking lot for $15 - a very fair price. There were roughly 30 vacant car spots, but the gate was blocked, and when I asked the attendant to let me in - he first waved me off and ignored me. Then I honked and got his attention, and he started yelling and screaming at me that they were full, and had to maintain capacity. I indicated there were ample empty spots, and he waved me off and ignored me. I found a spot down PCH and walked up to the pier, where I saw not 5 (five) minutes after I was there, the same attendant letting in ONE CAR AFTER THE OTHER - 10 or 20 cars freely pulling in. I could not believe my eyes. I was discriminated against. I approached the attendant and asked him to explain what had changed, and why he had aggressively and explicitly denied me the chance to pay $15 to park, but allowed everyone else. He was entirely caught off guard by my confronting him on his absolutely illegal and unkind behavior, and asked why he had discriminated against me? He just yelled and screamed at me, told me he chooses who does and does not park at the pier and that he was tired of seeing white people. I was truly gobsmacked, and just walked away. I am now preparing a lawsuit against the Malibu Pier and the parking service that manages the lot for illegal discriminatory practices.I hope the attendant gets sacked, truly. Whoever he is - he is a disgusting, reckless individual unfit to represent Malibu, the Pier, and the community - just awful.

The pier stretches some ~100yards/meters into Pacific ocean which on a good day can give you great views and incredible sunsets,There is a restaurant,I didn’t try their food and a expensive gift shop at the end. There is great retro feel of 60-70s California in that area because of old sign and boutiques that seems to been there for a while, parking can be hard on a good day. The beach is rocky and popular among surfers

I really enjoyed stopping here on my way to Santa Monica Beach. It wasnt too busy considering its probably one of the main attractions in Malibu. I didnt go into the cafe/restaurant on the pier but the decor was lovely and the food that was coming out to the outdoor seating was visually pleasing. The parking was a little steep at $10 but thats the norm but if youre fortunate enough to grab a space a little further up the road near the beach then happy days. The only down side was that there was a few vendors etc posted on the pier but none of the were open which was a shame when compared to Santa Monica Beach pier where they were all open into the late hours.

Picture this... A silent space invaded by the fragrance of the salty pacific breeze; cleansing your chakras. The seagulls soaring above her surf; the sun slowly dissolving on the other side of the turf. The tiny tidal waves kiss your feet while you watch the oceans and mountains meet. Yes, you dont have to dream anymore this place is just it... if you feel like you have bigger problems in life, visit here and hear the ocean whisper Beach, Sit down, be humble. :P

A very photogenic pier in Malibu. There’s not much going on in the surrounding area, but the pier itself is very cute and you can grab a bite to eat and a drink at one of the two restaurants (both of which are named Malibu Farm) located on the pier. It’s a good spot to stop for a break if you’re passing through Malibu, or if you’re shopping in Malibu and want to be on the water. Watch out for the birds stealing your food.

After having driven by it for years, I finally gave the pier a stroll. Its not huge or grand but theres plenty of seating and more than a few stations to mount fishing poles. The obligatory fancy store and restaurants are located at both ends with neat little micro-shops stationed along its length. Definitely worth your time to take a look if youre into strolling a pier and gazing along the gorgeous coast. Views of the historic little point from the West side.

Malibu Pier is not only one of the longest piers in California, but also it is in one of the best locations. West of the pier you can walk for several miles when the tide isn’t high. In that direction you’ll cross Carbon Beach, La Costa Beach, and Las Flores Beach. East of Malibu Pier is Surfrider Beach where longboard surfers and stand-up paddle-boarders play in the mild rolling break. Malibu Farm Cafe and Restaurant is at the end of the pier and has healthy food for hungry visitors. Nobu and other restaurants are nearby as well. Parking is available in the lot next to the pier and along PCH.
