Unbelievably atmospheric and eerie. You will be fascinated. (Plus the Elliot Smith wall is nearby and so you can hit two pop culture landmarks in a single stop.)

As a silverlake native I can share some more background info from this motel, it was there for a few decades before it shut down in the late 90s early 00s,the reason being was that the tenants were robbing the locals as well as harassing them, the owners were not doing their part on weeding out who was good and who was not. After enough complaints the city closed them down, now 20 years later its a landmark, lol funny how neighborhoods change

Creepy, picturesque, and eerie. The white spray paint has made The Bates Motel feel even more like a horror film, yet it was beautiful at the same time. Youre sure to find remnants of the movie Psycho here.

Another weird LA spot, is nice if you stumble upon it, not worth the trip there just to see it
