This places fun to go to because of all the beautiful artifacts. The staff is also really amazing! Something that I find really interesting about this place is that they have some of the artifacts that is in Auschwitz. There is also a lot that this museum offers to the community around it. They have summer programs for youth to express themselves creatively and still educate the people there! Also I’m really great thing is that there is a beautiful park right next to the museum! I am beyond grateful to have access to such and amazing place and educational as well.

As a father of a twenty year old daughter, whenever theres an opportunity to share a day together and create memories I try and find something fun . The Museum of Illusions provided that and then some...We had an awesome day thanks to the venue and location ...It had been years since I had been on Hollywood Blvd. ( dozens of pictures ) and the staff at the museum were awesome ...( young people with great personalities ...David provided several suggestions on great pictures...angles...etc)

An educational holocaust museum whose uniqueness is that many of the items were donated by survivors. Its not the most comprehensive holocaust museum youll see but if you want to get educated about the holocaust and live in the area its a good opportunity, especially since the entrance is donation based.Super nice staff, I remember Judy and Sydney but pretty much everyone there was super nice and helpful.Free parking near pan pacific park, and super close to the grove so you can combine with a visit there .

This museum is somewhat hidden next to the Pan Pacific park. I had been to this park before but didnt notice the museum in the past! In any case this is an awesome and informative museum about the horrors of the holocaust. The audio guide is especially good and there are more narratives than you can listen in 3 or 4 hours! There are tons of videos, photos, personal articles and models depicting what life was like during this dark period in history.

The Holocaust Monument has six 18-foot tall triangular black granite columns with inscriptions covering the Holocaust period, 1933-1945. Construction (in 1992) cost $3 million. Located in Pan Pacific Park outside the Holocaust Museum, it can be visited any time.

I had three most incredible experience at this museum. Its free but the suggested donation is $10, which is frankly a bargain for what you get. The audio guide was extensive and informative. I spent over two hours here and didnt listen to all the available material. The staff were friendly, the facilities were clean, and the history is not too be missed.

Sa
Review №19

I had the honor of visiting the museum. The entrance is free but a small donation of $10 is petitioned, which is a small price considering the amount of information present. I tend to take pictures but due to the history behind the event decided to not take them. The staff is extremely friendly and courteous, including the security staff. Overall the museum has several galleries that show you the beginning, middle, and the end of the holocaust period, however, it allows you to delve deeper into that period by giving you items, paperwork, pictures, letters of those that endured it, perished, and survived it. The museum accomplishes what it was designed to do, remember the time period the many good turned a blind eye.

This museum is an amazing auditory tour throughout aspects of or that contributed to the holocaust. It was humbling, powerful, and haunting specially given the current climate of American politics.Interesting stories about refugees lead our group into discussions on today’s issues and concerns using history as our guide to try to learn from our past.It is free operating on donations only, earphones provided but it isn’t a bad idea to bring your own as when they are busy they may run low.Parking garage is kinda hidden, but follow signs and don’t be afraid your in the right place.

What an amazing museum run by wonderful people who are so generous in sharing their own personal stories. Its so important that these stories continue to be told... and that we as a society remember just how this happened in the first place. This part of our collective history must never repeat itself. LAMOTH should be a required stop for all visitors to Los Angeles.

I just visited the Holocaust Museum today, and it is remarkable. For the survivors to donate artifacts, personal stories of resilience, we must not forget these atrocities and pass down this history for the next generation. My personal favorite is the memorial for the children that have perished. That memorial hold place in my heart for those innocent children. Definitely would recommend anyone to visit the Holocaust Museum and please donate!

This is a really good, remarkable museum. There is a ton of information and artifacts! You will learn things you didnt know before. Really powerful exhibits. As others have stated, its free (donation recommended) and they give you an audio player guide for free as well. The people who work there are really nice too. I recommend everyone take a trip here at least once.

I came to this museum 20 years ago with my classmates from High School and Teacher. We all learned more about the history of the Holocaust. There were photos that I can remember and books. I do remember that all the staff there was helpful and very friendly. I’d love to go again. I’ll definitely add pictures next time I go there. It’s an educational yet in a way paying our respects to all the victims. Carl Hayden High School attended with Ms. Kenley Year 1999

The museum is free, including parking. You need to buzz to be let in to parking garage. The exhibits are narrated on iPhone they give you (you can also click on the iPhone to read the narration--I read faster than the speakers, so liked that). I spent 2 hours there and could have spent more time.

So this museum is right across from The Grove. Just so you know the parking and admission is FREE. The parking lot has a gate, so you have to hit a button to buzz the place and theyll ask you how many people are coming, then theyll open the gate for you to come in. The parking underground is plentiful. After you park your car and get out to your car, you take the elevator up to the museum. They offer you an audio and headphones, which I recommend you taking (dont worry its FREE also). You get to visit through the 9 exhibits and your audio device comes in handy so you can hear the information and hear what other people had to say about their experience. It is a good educational experience. The whole exhibit takes about over an hour to complete. If you end up taking the time and listening to every audio clip, it may take a few hours.

We visited in 2015, it took me too long to write a review. I was looking at some pictures when I remembered I needed to write this. Cant really be considered a museum, because everything is based on pictures really. The first Holocaust Museum that I ever seen was actually the Real Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Museum. Been there in 2011. I am still giving this place 5 stars though. We listened and chatted with a Holocaust survivor. Loved how the room was full of high schoolers. So important that young people learn from the history. It was very emotional and humbling. You should go and see the LA Museum of Holocaust.

My family and I visited the museum with our school-aged children thinking this would be an educational experience. Was I wrong! 5 min into our arrival we encountered a survivor, Mary. She came up to us in a such confrontational demenur, yelling at us for bringing our children and “exposing” them to such things as the museum. I was in utter shock! The rest of the tour just stared at us, the tour guide did NOTHING to remove her or calm her. I asked her to leave us alone and that I was their mother and I obviously approved of the visit. She continued to yell and verbally attack us, made my son cry as he starts to have a panic attack, begging to leave. The staff tried to calm US instead of HER! I was as polite as can be and never disrespected anyone.I know that if the roles were reversed, we would not only have been escorted maybe even detained. The security guard roled his eyes when we asked him to intervene. I don’t think she is an appropriate person to conduct tours. This place advertises school field trips, she most certainly should never be allowed to be around children!! Shame on this place for allowed what they very much are educating on, abuse and segregation.

More relevant than ever. Looking at ISIS in the Middle East is a stark reminder that we have not grown past the capacity of human evil. It behooves anyone alive to visit this captivating and haunting shrine/museum. They have iPods for individualized explanations of specific exhibits. No one is too young or too old, to learn about what should never be forgotten. Evil can flourish when the good do nothing or know nothing.
