Beautiful place to take a morning hike. Have to come here to watch the sunrise. It’s breathtaking watching the sun rise and shine on the city.

Why if the park is open is the parking lot closed? Is LA that hard up for impound and parking fines? Makes no sense. If you want to restrict the amount of people block off X number of spots etc. keep people safe and keep the lot open so people can enjoy themselves while staying healthy and exercising.

Favorite view in town, pandemic sucks but the park is beautiful. Sorry I don’t have photos for y’all but they don’t do it justice. The fresh air, the view, the vibe, I like to look for the Beverly center mall and then try to specially orient myself and find my apartment or favorite other spots around town. Definitely one of LAs best spots

The hike here is actually pretty cool with nice view of the city life. I wanted to do this just to say I did it. But unless I visit here on the weekday, I doubt I be back because Griffith Park is much closer to where I live and has a lot more trails without the crowd. The parking here is also crazy on the weekend with no restroom so plan accordingly if you drink too much coffee:)

Were 0 for 2 trying to get into Runyon Canyon via the North Entrance. Id give it 1 star, but the parking lot attendants were helpful (warning us about the limited parking across the street that could get us a ticket).

Has some of the greatest, clearest views of LA. 360 degrees. Can spy the Hollywood sign, DTLA, Griffith Observatory, randomly dispersed LA buildings a couple of squints to the right of DTLA & pretty much everywhere. Hike was a little too dry with all the dirt paths. Trail wasnt too hard or easy (there was a strip of downhill with all rocks so that took awhile).

A little scary for me. I like some adventure but there was a sign that said beware of rattle snakes and I went a night so I was shaking in my boots a little. But otherwise great views for the adventurous and cool pathways.

Good way to enter the park instead of the south entrance. Parking can be a bit sparse, but you can usually find something

Great place for a hike or trail run. West trail is taller and steeper than the East Trial. You can see the Hollywood sign from the top of the West Trial, but get a better view from the East trail. For the best view of the Hollywood sign go to Lake Hollywood Park. There is plenty of free parking at least during the week. Dont stop in the local neighborhood streets the locals get really upset and you could possibly get a ticket.

This isn’t the full track!!!Beware... you should start at the bottom and work your way up!The north entrance isn’t really much of a cardio track it’s more of a stroll!I suggest finding another starting point and making your way up the track! It’s great fun and it’s an awesome view of LA!

Nice views of LA. Crowded and limited parking unfortunately. Good hiking trails including a paved road that descends down to street level. The dirt trails can be challenging as you descend further south.

Ja
Review №17

Syperbe place !!! before arriving at the very top, you have to make a trake that lasts about 20 minutes. Once the trake is over you will have a point of view that you will not find anywhere else !!!! nevertheless I advise you to take a bottle of water if you want to continue the trake on the valley. moreover when trake you can photograph the villas of stars who are on the valley.

Runyan Canyon is probably the best hiking trail in LA. Theyve made several improvements over the years including adding an AED at the top of the most strenuous trail. Its great for dog walking as well! Love it!

This was a really nice hike! We took the easier direction which was to go up the steep non paved part going down and come back up on the paved street. There were lots of dogs which was cool, but so many owners who didnt pick up the poop. There werent many trash cans for poop bags anyway which I guess would be a pain for someone to have to empty, but it seems to discourage people from picking up after their dog.

Great place for short or long hikes on graded goomed gravel or hard packed dirt wide trails. Fairly exposed so bring the sun block, fantastic views of the entire city and surrounding mountains including some great views of the Hollywood sign and Grifith Observatory. Parking can be hard to find if youre up on top of Mulholland dr.

Beautiful views of most of Los Angeles and a great paved hiking path. You can also meet celebrities along the way, like Mordechai Ben David, Avraham Fried, Esther Freeman, that guy from the Hebrew Hammer, Adam Sandler, Kevin Hart and The Rock. Those are examples of celebrities, I didnt see any of them while I was walking down but thats because I was looking at my phone. People, stop looking at your phone while youre on a beautiful hike in nature. Anyway, where were we... Oh yeah so definitely check it out, its a great path.

My favorite hike because i feel like Im in the true, hidden neighborhood of the stars! Since I was there last, there is now a small parking lot. Not a bad wait at 11:15am on a weekday. I imagine it gets pretty brutal though. Once on the trail, lots of options but not all well marked -I was afraid we would not find our way back to car so quickly -we were on a tight timeframe. Would like to spend a day exploring. Bring BIG water bottle and go to the bathroom before arriving.

All of the views with none of the struggle! Good luck with parking but worth the views and fun just seeing the cool hom s up in the hills. We got there on a clear day in January and could see the city and the coast. People were friendly, we only had to park a half mile down the hill and the views were the best I’ve ever had in LA. A great spot to visit to acquaint yourself with the geography of the metropolis.

I enjoy coming to Runyon since its close to home and also a good quick hike. I usually do about 3 miles and I start at the top then make my way back up. I tend to go at 6am so its mostly empty with a few regulars. Now thats winter its still a bit dark when I get there but its awesome to see the sunrise and start your day early by being active. I didnt notice a big change since their last renovation the past summer 2016. But its good they maintain it since a lot of ppl do go. Its definitely one of the popular hikes in LA plus people say they spot celebrities. I did spot one guy who used to be on mad TV.
