A must see tourist destination! Such a grand building, you must bring a photo ID and walk through security detectors. Its nice to walk around and look at the architectural features. To note, they have a homeboy on the 3rd floor with decent food! I attended council meeting and went to the top floor to the observation deck. A must when visiting LA.

Los Angeles City Hall is one of the best kept secrets of this city. Not many people know that you can come here between 8am and 5pm on weekdays to get free access to the observation deck. This is easily one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the entire city from a closer perspective than that of Griffith Observatory. If you’ve never been, you should definitely check it out on a clear and sunny day to really take in the view of Downtown Los Angeles.

So excited to have discovered this restaurant!! I can see myself coming back here, especially when one of my closest friends also enjoy the food and ambiance. I am looking forward to their grand opening and the gradual expansion of their menu. Highly recommend this spot for any chicken or duck lovers... and of course, if you enjoy yourself a few cocktails, their bar is exceptionally stocked as well! Cheers!!

Thats what I call...WARM! Big Thank You! Job well done folks!!!Come visit...see what beautiful treasures lie inside your City Hall...take a tour. Bring the kids during Holiday break. Its FREE!

The LA City Hall has an observation deck to see all of Los Angeles and the surrounding neighborhoods. The best part of the observation deck it is free and even though it is not as tall as the OUE skyspace, you do get some good views. Parking can be a challenge so going early to beat the crowds is the best choice. There is metered parking and structures nearby to park. The entrance to the observation deck is on Main St. between 1st St. and Temple St. Once you enter the building you need to go to security and metal detectors. The directions to the observation deck are posted to show which elevators to take and what floors to stop on.The observation deck has a few facts on city hall and paintings of the past mayors. At the top floor there is a podium with flags where you can pose for pictures. The doors lead to the deck and you can walk around full circle of city hall. You can see a lot of cities all the way to Hollywood, Chinatown, San Gabriel mountains, and East Los Angeles. The place was clean and each side has facts on the cities that you can see far away. The only drawback is its only open on weekdays from 8:00am-5:00pm. It is worth a visit if you have the day off and are in the Downtown LA area.

The observation deck has great views of the city. Be prepared to pass through security and metal detectors. Youll need to swap elevators once and still climb another set of stairs. Everyone was friendly and the view was fantastic. We were able to take pictures of the Griffith Observatory and later that day took pictures of the City Hall from the Observatory. The only downside was the parking deck is underground a block away. To get from the deck to the building you pass through a park with an assortment of homeless sleeping on the benches and in the bushes.

This is one of the most beautiful and iconic buildings in Los Angeles. When it was built it was a landmark that was meant to show that Los Angeles was now a force to be reckoned with. There were three days of celebrations for its opening.Take the time and go up to the top of the city hall building and go to the observation deck. A multitude of movies and TV shows have been filmed there. Youll be able to see this the that span from the ocean to the mountains.

A very nice place to see downtown LA from. Due to the position of the building outside of LAs skyline, you get to see the skyline from a very good vantage point. Los Angeles City Hall is the center of all government of the city of Los Angeles. It houses the mayors office and the meeting chambers and offices of the Los Angeles City Council. It has a public (free admission) 360 view slightly obstructed observation deck on the 27th floor. Visitors enter the Main Street Entrance in which you will go through metal detector screener. Then you will provide ID and sign In at the front desk. Moreover, you will read an instruction on how to get to the observatory. Basically you will take the express elevators (#4 to #8) and get off on the 22nd floor and transfer to another elevator going thru the 26th floor and walk one flight of stairs or take a elevator and you will reach the observatory deck. The observatory deck has very narrow walk way so be mindful of other visitors. You will see a spectacular view of Los Angeles.

Go thru the security check at the main entrance and greet the friendly officers keeping you safe. At window 4 of Room 101 youll find a friendly and dedicated city worker named Bridgett. If you behave like a rational calm friendly human being she might even waive some penalties if youre late in paying your taxes.

I think this is one of the secrets of DTLA. When I was there, there was only a small handful of tourists enjoying the free and breathtaking views. You have to go to the main door, surrender your bags and stuff for security screening, register your ID and off to the city hall tower after using 2 separate elevators. We reached at 4:20pm approximately and was pleasantly surprised by the thin crowd as well as the orangy hues reflecting off the different sky scrappers and surrounding mountaineous terrains. Each side of the building has a photograph with the sights plotted out and identified so that you can get the bearings of this enormous city.
